The screened has a dining table with chairs, and also stores some patio chairs to use on the property. They are really great to sit on the dock! There is also a charcoal grill and a crab trap for you to use. (You need a fishing license and bait. Chicken bones works great!) Fishing is great here... the canals have been dredged and folks are catching right of the back of their lots. Community fishing area is on the end of both Van Sant and Mabry, Mabry has a boat ramp. These you cast right off a drop to the intracoastal. Beach Access via community gate at end of street. Combination for those will be shared in arrival instructions. Spot is a residential lot... It is 60 x 130. Canal City is a quiet residential area. The back side fronts on the water. You will probably see more seagulls and purple martins than people. We have weekly discounts. Message me and I can go over them because the Hipcamp platform makes them difficult. It works out to approximately 7 nights for the price of 5. Be prepared: Bolivar has mosquitoes. This is the coast. If it has rained they can be really bad. The county sprays on a regular rotation but it can be bad. They tend to swarm when you pull in. Spray helps. We also send recommendations for what sprays work best for us in the arrival instructions. We do not offer refunds for mosquitoes. We have never found them unmanageable, and the screen porch keeps them almost entirely away. We are east of Rollover Pass. Easiest to arrive through Winnie and south on 124. Unless you are coming from Galveston or southeast Houston it is probably shorter. The ferry is fun (dolphins and such) but the waits can be long. Also: Do not bring loose propane tanks or gasoline cans on the ferry, they will send you away. Weekend Trip to Bolivar East RV Park

Bolivar East is a wonderful place to stay. It is small, easy to navigate, and has a beautiful view of the ocean. The pads are concrete and fairly level. You can easily access the beach from this site. There are several good restaurants in the area. Access to the Bolivar Peninsula ferry is just a straight shot down the road. The ferry is free, and makes accessing Galveston easy. Ruben is very attentive, and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

We loved our short stay at the Nauti Pelican. Our dogs loved the completely fenced yard! It has a great deck with table and chairs out of the beach wind! Which was great. Plenty of covered space and lighting. I believe you could also rent the cute beach house through airbnb if you need more room. Inquire with host if desired. We walked to the beach from the house! To keep it real for hipcampers...The ONLY negative thing to say (which does not reflect negative on host or amenities provided/ Pest are out of host control! ) mosquitoes the size of hummingbirds and plentiful. Other than that...Paradise.

Weekend Trip to Big City Little Farm

Big City Little Farm is an amazing experience. Even before arriving, Cherise was getting all the information she needed to ensure we had the best experience, unique to us. It was my daughter's 8th birthday and from riding Sugar the horse to projector movie night on the side of the barn to a birthday gift to snowcones delivered to our campsite to... the list goes on and on, Big City Little Farm and Cherise deliver a BIG experience. Feeding time for all the animals at 9am is an adventure and when you're done with that, take the kayak for a jog in the pond or zip line from tree to tree or follow the walking trail through the trees around the perimeter. Then love on the animals (and there's a lot of them) the rest of the day. Goose the goat will be by your side at your beck and call and Wilma the chicken might just snuggle in your lap. Water and power hookup provided (ask about what kind is available depending on the site). Ground was level enough to setup easily. Gave us a key fob to come and go as we pleased. After our visit, my son now wants to have his birthday here as well haha. We will be back!
