Our location is phenomenal we are an hour from Knoxville and Asheville and just about 1/4 mile off I-40. Right at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and 35 minutes from Gatlinburg about 40 minutes to Pigeon Forge (Dollywood), also about 45 minutes to Sevierville and one of my favorite Tanger Outlets!! The beautiful Smoky Mountains the National Park is filled with hiking trails and horse stables and trails. Some of the best white water rafting is less then 5 miles up the road along with zip lining and a lil taste of moonshine here and there. This property is primitive with no electric and has a camping style bathhouse. IT’s recommended for outdoor lovers and people that are not too needy. Hurricane Helene brought unforecasted changes in the land but the tranquility of the River remains. We have worked to restore as much as we could. As for us it’s still our happy place in the Smoky Mountains!

Some of the best white water rafting is less then 5 miles up the road along with zip lining and a lil taste of moonshine here and there. This property is primitive with no electric and has a camping style bathhouse. IT’s recommended for outdoor lovers and people that are not too needy. Hurricane Helene brought unforecasted changes in the land but the tranquility of the River remains. We have worked to restore as much as we could. As for us it’s still our happy place in the Smoky Mountains!

Great experience! Mark was communicative from the start, suggesting directions it just for us coming from NC but also for our family coming from TN. He was super flexible when our arrival time changed, and even started a fire for us before we arrived!! (I mentioned sitting by the fire was s priority for us) The area is delightfully remote with creeks and a river and Mark's farm animals nearby. Highly recommended.

From the minute we arrived, Mark was there ready to show us around & help with anything we needed. He brought us firewood, home grown peppers & homemade pickled jalapeños. He had water for us there, as well as a fully stocked “market” where we bought chips, ice & popsicles. The spot was perfect for our group of 5. We had plenty of room, a picnic table & a fire pit. I would definitely stay here again & recommend it to anyone looking for a private camping experience close to the Smokies.

Tom’s camper was the perfect getaway on a long weekend for this single mama and two kiddos! It’s perfectly located between the region’s three state parks, with cozy beds, ample heat, plenty of towels and bedding, and all the kitchenware needed. It was a very relaxing peaceful escape from my husband and I. So the weather was chilly there was a fire pit that was able to warm us outside provide us a relaxing atmosphere for preparing our dinner by the creek. the boho tent oh my gosh how relaxing atmosphere inside and out the decor was to die for loved it stepping back into that time was so amazing I loved it so did my husband we will definitely be coming back when the weather is warmer. Love the fresh eggs waiting for us when we arrived the firewood assembled out by the fire pit for us next to the picnic table, I was absolutely just so relaxing everything we could think of was there waiting. Fresh clean sheets blankets a heater. Very nice and the host for very accommodating for anything that we could ask for but not in the way give you your privacy at the same time. Thank you for a pleasant visit to your establishment we will be back.

I had a great experience at GlampKnox. You can asily navigate to the site via Google Maps, and the directions provided by the GlampKnox staff were very clear, as were the signs on site. You drive up an inclined gravel road to the camp site, where 3 sturdy canvas tents are set up on wooden platforms. There is a single parking spot in front of each tent. My tent held up perfectly in the rain, was clean, mostly bug-free [one stink bug which I ignored], with a very comfortable bed and extra blankets. I loved the phone charger pack, fan, lantern, and available propane heater [which I did not use in October]. I used the restroom and outdoor shower attached to the barn, and they got the job done [shower water was warm enough but not very hot], but the shower might be a bit cold in the winter months. I did not have time to visit with the horses or set a campfire, but those options are available if you're taking it easy. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Julie and Jonathan’s property at Hiker’s Rest is the perfect place to spend your time camping near the Smoky Mountains. They are incredibly kind and accommodating hosts. They mowed their lawn before we came, were consistently responsive when we needed advice about hiking or amenities, and incredibly attuned to our needs. They have a beautiful space with great views and a very clean toilet and shower, with wifi ranging around the property as well. 100% recommend staying here for a cozy, adventurous time. Harmony Hollow was a cute and comfortable weekend getaway. The campground is close to the parkway but set back so it feels like you're in a remote area. You can hear the traffic noise, but the road isn't really visible from the campsites. Harmony Hollow campground is essentially a big field with 3-4 campsites around the outside and a big open space in the middle. You will definitely see your neighbors unless you hike out to set up a primitive site on the property, but if you do then you will likely be visited by the horses. The bathhouse with toilet, shower and sink was a nice amenity. There was no toilet paper supplied but thankfully we brought our own. The shower is not well lit so bring a lantern if you want to shower after dark. The firewood shed was not stocked, but it is the end of the season so perhaps not much demand.

Mission: The original idea for CR Adventure Outpost came many years ago. We grew up visiting "Grandparents" in Wise County and developed a deep love for the area, the outdoors, and all it had to offer. There came a point, , when we realized that the amount of outdoor activities and authentic cultural experiences could indeed support visitors. Usually if someone comes down the road it is the Post Man, UPS or Fed EX except for the 4th of July when our boat dock is often a prime location for a big fireworks display. Usually can't tell a Saturday from a Tuesday most of the time as 80-90% of houses in the area are second vacation homes and unoccupied most of the year. Only 2 houses are located past ours before the cul-de-sac. We are separated by trees and woods on both sides. Private yet very Conveniently located. Getting around Plenty of Convenient Parking located across the concrete driveway. A Large Heavy Duty Wagon is Available for loading and unloading. Our scenic campground sits in a wooded area overlooking a meadow that slopes down to a small, year-round creek. Enjoy sunrise and sunset views for much of the year, along with frequent sightings of deer, turkeys, Canadian geese, and mallard ducks—despite being just minutes from the city. The campground borders an active railroad line. While trains pass only 1–2 times a day, they have no reason to sound their horns.
