If walking isn't your thing, you are welcome to drive around (4wd recommended) to go scout out where you'd like to set up camp for the night. If you prefer more peace and privacy, there are two beautiful meadows to choose from which both reach deeper into the property. If you'd prefer the comfort of additional shelter, you are welcome to park and/or set yourself up at the barn instead (which is a little closer to the main road). There is power to the barn - providing light, 30AMP power for RV hookup, as well as an electrical receptacle that you can run your extension chords from. For the extra adventurous - you may want to take a hike up "Thornbush Trail," which follows the ridge right up the middle of the property and has beautiful views of both meadows to either side. Or, for a more direct route, take a walk right up our dirt access road to the upper ridge, where you can peek through the treeline for beautiful elevated views eastward toward Columbia. Our treehouse (in progress) is located right at the top of the access road. Though the treehouse has not yet been completed, feel free to climb the 20' ladder up the inside of the hollowed out trunk and pop your head out the top! It sure makes a great photo! Come back to the barn area in the evening to lounge in the hammock, hang out around the picnic table, or cook dinner and roast some marshmallows over the wood burning fire pit with cooking grill attachment (fireside tools & 1 bundle of firewood provided). One filtered and cooled 5 gallon portable Igloo water cooler will also be provided and placed on the picnic table outside the barn. One rolling 96 gallon covered trash bin will be placed inside the barn (please bag your trash). "Luggable Loo" portable compost toilet is also available for use inside the barn. Tho cell & wifi are spotty here on the farm, we will provide one walkie talkie during your stay for direct communication with the main residence, should there be any issues or needs that arise. On the flip side, privacy is respected and use of the electronics is completely at your discretion! For recreation (each within 15-20 minutes of the farm): 1. We are located about 11 miles from exit 116 on interstate 40 in the beautiful farming community of Chesterfield, Tennessee where there's an abundance of wildlife including our own team of Khaki Campbell guard ducks and a piebald whitetail buck named Lucky who enjoys hanging out by the levee. Lake access is included with each site reservation. Life jackets required at all times for those with paddle please. Canoe rentals available upon request. Camp sites 1-3, the boat ramp and main parking area are located at the main entrance and offer gravel roads and parking. Look for the LAL logo on the left gate post. Camp site #4 the hiking trailhead and our back country campsites are located at the east entrance. Look for patriotic fence post near the road. If you end up traveling a long paved road that leads to a boat ramp with lots of parking, you zigged when you should have zagged. Turn around and lazy acres is across from where that road ends. Follow the access road along the tree line down to the water. The hiking trail is to the east across the footbridge. Look for white AT style blazes for trail markers. The blue blazes leading to each campsite. * All gates are open 24 hours when campers are present.

We’re a young homestead, just a year or two old, set on 15 acres—mostly forest with a small patch of grassland. On the property, you’ll find a large garden, a rocky-bottom creek, and wild blackberry bushes. Two friendly cats and a dog free-roam during the day, adding to the homestead charm. We’re well positioned for hunting and fishing: a wildlife refuge sits just across the gravel road, and a boat ramp into the Tennessee River is only a mile away. this campsite was lovely! it was easy to find (right off of the road if you’re following apple maps directions), and jennifer was ready when i got there to show me the options of where to park. there was a fire pit and complimentary firewood (love), and the land was big enough to explore a bit. thanks, i’ll be back!

It's a small area to camp but it's affordable. We had full hookups. It's not maintained very well and apparently there isn't someone "on duty". We were just going through so it was fine. Some people stay there for months. We hung out with a nice couple who's been there for the summer. It seemed pretty quiet there so people keep to themselves.

Don's land was perfect for our quick overnight stop. We stayed in one of the spots near the back of the property and we were the only people back there so it was like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was very quiet and being right on the river was a plus. We even go to see a couple of barges go by while we were drinking coffee in the morning.

I can’t express enough how peaceful it is to stay at Don’s place. Blue Heron Landing is nothing short of an oasis. He’s an amazing host on an amazing piece of Earth. The water is way down this time of year, allowing so much more beach exploring. Despite not wanting everyone to know about it, I have to say… you’ve really got to see this space. Especially if you want a place to camp that feels all your own.

What a great spot! The site and surrounding community are beautiful and peaceful. We spent several days here and worked remotely. The wi-fi was fast and reliable making this a great space for teleworkers looking for a dose of nature to break up the workday. We enjoyed long walks on the surrounding dirt roads and quiet nights around the camp fire. This place was everything we could have asked for!

Wonderful spot was quite and beautiful. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a quiet beautiful campsite.

Moonlight Ridge is one of our largest campsites! It has picnic table and a fire pit and plenty of places to park and pitch a tent. The views from Moonlight Ridge are lovely. The elevation is over 700 feet. There are two hiking trails near this campsite. One trail is moderate while the other has a very steep hill and then levels off nicely. This campsite has great views overlooking the valley.

Jennifer’s land is perfect if you wanna get away from it all. There were plenty of campsites to choose from.

This is the view from Sunny Shire, which is campsite #2. It has a large fire pit and a picnic table for your use. It is in a very peaceful and quiet location. There is no cell signal here. If you need to use the Wi-Fi, you may park in the parking lot at the host’s cabin. Firewood is $10 a bundle and can be delivered to your campsite if we are notified in advance.

Riverside camp site was awesome! Well groomed and very secluded. Directions were easy to follow. I believe I stayed at the very last site and felt like I owned paradise. Cleared areas are much larger than needed, which creates a ‘safe’ piece of mind in such a remote area. The gravel road in could use a bit of TLC if you’re heading to the back forty, but it forces you to go slow and take in the beauty. Coyotes got to yippin around midnight, but that seems to be quite familiar in these areas. Highly recommend it if you are looking to get away from all that bothers you! Don’t forget your fishing pole!

33 Beautiful horses, many colts, and a Clydesdale. Got a tour of the stables. Easy in and out, quiet, nice and level spot for our rig. Electric if you need it. But we just boon docked. Very friendly and interesting people.

The spot was more than perfect. Enjoyed the crisp fall sunrises and sunsets with the light dancing through the trees. The place was extremely beautiful with the tall bluffs the crystal clean water.
