Although there are no showers available to campers/guests, I can provide a large washing jug. Plenty of hiking is available at LBL, just 8 miles away. I can provide intel on good fishing and backcountry spots. There is fantastic antiquing and thrifting in Cadiz and Murray, and I can introduce you to the Amish market for the most affordable groceries you've ever bought in your life. I love to cook for people especially if it's a group. It'll usually be vegan chili con carne and skillet cornbread, Korean chajangmen, or some tasty variety of Asian seasoned vegetable soup with homemade bread. I am ovo-lacto vegetarian except in cases of hunting guests offering their own catfish, bass, venison, boar or turkey, in which case I fire up the bbq and get busy, because hunters are essential for environmental preservation. The fire ring is available for traditional cast iron cooking. Dogs under 50 lbs are welcome if they're trained, you clean up after them, keep them leashed around guests and kenneled at night. I have 2 small dogs and I can kennel them on request.

Kahu Farm was delightful, and Lora and her husband were very thoughtful and accommodating hosts. The tent was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. We enjoyed spending time on the farm with our hosts along with their goats, chickens, parrot, and dogs. We were also able to borrow their kayaks and time for a drop-in and pick-up morning on the river! Lora’s all natural bug spray and soaps were an added luxury too. We definitely hope to come back and stay again soon.

Weekend Trip to Nine Pines Retreats

We had an amazing stay and felt completely spoiled. It was the perfect mix of nature and comfort. We loved having our own bathroom, a mini kitchen area with microwave and refrigerator, and a coffee maker. My son and I really enjoyed the hiking trails, the community fire pit, and cooking meals on the community grills. The outdoor heaters under the kitchen shelter and the solar lights throughout the campsites were such a nice touch. What impressed me most was how thoughtfully stocked everything was. We packed essentials like firewood and toilet paper, but they truly had it covered: septic-safe toilet paper, fresh towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, washcloths, trash bags, and even s’mores ingredients. We were welcomed with a fresh-cut rose and extra bedding for the futon, which made it feel extra special. My son’s favorite part was pumping the well water for the community kitchen and using the fire pit skewers. We also loved the mini porch and back deck at the tent. No mosquito or bug issues at all. The only downside was no hot tub during our stay, but overall this was a wonderful experience and we’d absolutely come back.

We loved our stay at Nine Pine's Retreat! This would be a great place to invite a group of friends/couples to tag along for a weekend getaway! We stayed on a very cold night, and the tent stayed pretty warm. Our favorite part was the hot tub; it was a dreamy atmosphere tucked in the woods with string lights overhead. We grilled our dinner, ate in the tent and enjoyed the campfire. My husband and I stayed one night and truly enjoyed this nice getaway!

We had a great experience camping on Lora's land. She welcomed us in with her husband and showed us around the property. I paid for some of her home made bug spray which worked extremely well and is all natural. The property was private, quiet, and clean. They had a bathroom and water, an outdoor kitchen, fresh eggs, fresh goat milk, well behaved animals, beautiful award winning goats. She made us a cup of coffee in the morning, provided firewood, amazing spring water. The tent was clean and warm, she provided us with blankets and basic essentials. Beautiful outdoor shower. She allowed me to take some photos on her property. Great time.

Weekend Trip to Kahu Farm

We went for a night out. Call us crazy cause we didn't drive but about 15 minutes. We went glamping for the first time. If you haven't I do recommend it. We had a nice tent with the softest queen size bed ever built on a platform. Nice portable potty in a small tent right outside. A fire ring that they provided the wood for. A double hammock and a dinning outside table. If that wasn't enough a short walk on a path would take you to the outside kitchen with anything you could need. Also provide indoor plumbing with a huge shower. The host was amazing. Spend our morning on their front porch just talking. The kids can see chickens and goats. They have 2 doggies and the most interesting bird that talks and sings. They also offer kayaking where they drop you off and pick you up. We will definitely be going back even being so close to home. It's just the getaway on the edge of Lewis and Lawrence county that gives you the feeling of being in a mountain setting.. I wish I would had taken more pictures of the amazing farm but I did not. I will next time for sure. We booked through hip camp. Definitely recommend for a night out. Also they do have some solar power inside the tent. Last night it stormed and was cold out. But inside was dry and super warm.

Weekend Trip to Sacred Dog Ranch

We had the best time at Sacred Dog Ranch this past weekend and feel like we made lifelong friends with Lisa and Gary. Our dog, Sage, played with his fellow Dal new friends, my daughter rode Fancy the gorgeous horse and we felt like instant family. It’s right outside Nashville and remote enough we didn’t feel like we were in a cookie cutter suburb. Lisa was so welcoming and generous with her authentic self. My kids and I loved our visit and will be back.

Weekend Trip to Little Creek Ranch in Wayneboro TN

Leona and Little Creek Ranch went above and beyond for our female Scouting America troop! Leona worked with us in advance to find out the age and experience level of all our riders, to ensure they all had an amazing experience! She also took her own time and energy to create a through booklet for our girls and helped them all earn their Horsemanship Merit Badge. I would highly recommend Little Creek Ranch for any scouting troop!
