Weekend Trip to Lakeside Retreat

We loved camping on Neil's land! The private lake had great fishing and there was plenty of space for our dogs to run around. It was a beautiful spot and we will definitely come back!

Me and my pup spent a much needed evening at the lake side retreat. The hosts were very helpful leading up to the trip. The spot is well kept with lots of wildflowers and we really enjoyed our evening on the lake. We had quite a bit of rain for our trip so I was happy I brought some extra shelter from the weather. We will definitely be back!

3 nights at Russell's Ranch RV Site

The area to back your camper into is so nice. Very quiet place! They gave me some eggs straight from their chickens! That was so kind and so extra! They are amazing! Very friendly and welcoming! Cannot say enough good things about this place! One of the best I’ve stayed at!

3 nights at Camp Moondog

We camped at the fern gully site, beautiful site 180° view of the flowing saluda river.. also caught some bluegill and a little bass. Now this site may be a bit of a trek for some and a little tip, when it rains . It pours.. be wary of that slick southern clay. it's completely secluded! Just you. the river. And nature! Also just minutes to downtown Greenville. And a short drive to Paris mountain.. Caesars head and table Rock State parks!

The perfect retreat right on the river, the hosts were great, making us welcome then leaving us to enjoy. Our pup has a new favorite spot to retrieve in the water. And five minutes away Buffet Latino was serving a full Puerto Rican buffet at 9 am! The perfect exit!

It was our first time camping and it was a great experience from the beginning. Mike came to welcome us and show us the place around which was really nice. The space is great, the view is amazing, it’s crazy it’s so close to the actual city and you actually feel far away like others have said already. You can hear the nature, we didn’t see any animals, the river was super nice too. In general a great experience that I would 100% recommend.

Amazing hosts, great location, easy access. Nice level spot with full hookup. There is no shortage of things to do in the area. We really enjoyed The Silos Brewery in Easley (6 minutes away) and a short drive (20 minutes) to downtown Greenville. We are already planning our return trip. Thank you Dave and family for a great, relaxing weekend! :)

This camping spot is awesome, site 3 is on a big piece of land that is more secluded the further you go back. Our dog Ginger loved running around the trail in the back. Beth and Rob are great hosts, they always made sure we had what we needed. I would definitely come back.

Staying at Camp Dogmoon was an enchanting experience. The camp, situated right on the river, allowed for incredible views of the wildlife. We even heard beaver slaps on our second night. As I was leaving, I made a mistake and got my car stuck in the mud. The camp hosts quickly got me out of the mud and on my way. I would 100% recommend staying at Camp Dogmoon. It is easily one of my favorite campsites I have stayed at so far.

Thank you Jason for sharing your slice of heaven with us this weekend. Black Bear Farm is absolutely beautiful and so perfectly peaceful. Just a few minutes from the amazing restaurants and shops that Travelers Rest has to offer, Jason greeted us upon our arrival and left us to explore his property and town. This Hip Camp is just a quick drive to downtown Greenville. We cannot wait to come back!

Patrick is an excellent host. Very attentive. Camp site was recently cleared nicely for our arrival with fresh cut grass. Toilet was clean and stocked with paper and hand sanitizer. Well marked camp with posted sign easily seen from river. Fire wood available. Amber responded immediately to questions on hip camp app. Patrick answered all questions regarding the camp site and river conditions.

This was my first time using hipcamp. Based on my experience with this trip, not only will I be staying at Moondog again but I'll also be using hipcamp more. The hosts were great. They went above and beyond and provided help and advice whenever possible. They were also quick to respond to any messages. The location is great. You're minutes from stores for last minute essentials and downtown Greenville is a short drive away. You're right on the river and it feels secluded. We were at the far out and the site was clean. There is a hill but anyone moderately fit will have no problem with it and the hosts even helped transport our items with their four wheeler. I would highly recommend this place.

Beautiful location with a view of Table Rock located in the Historic Oolenoy Valley. Our property is located in Northern Pickens Co. of South Carolina. Plenty of trails, boating, biking in the area or just sit under your awning and enjoy the wildlife. Important please read! There is not evening shade in July and August, However, there are shady spots very close to the camp site that you can enjoy. Where your camper sits the Sun goes down at the front of the camper. It is typically not an issue until mid-July and August. If you need additional details, please contact me. There are two homes near the camp site. The one behind the site is our home. Just me and my wife, currently no pets. The other home is a small white farmhouse that I currently rent to close friends. Chris and his wife and two well behaved kids. The kind of neighbors' people dream of! In five years of renting this site I have only had one couple that felt uncomfortable with the homes on our driveway. There is a 16' x 22' stage tucked away in the corner of the property if needed for dancing or musicians. Come camp in the woods near the creek and enjoy the sounds of nature.
