What an awe-inspiring, beautiful and grounding experience in Utuado. Our stay at TJ Ranch was more than we hoped for and exceeded our expectations. Tina's warmth, hospitality and farm-to-table meals left us feeling taken care of in a way that moved us to extend our stay an additional night. The cabins were clean and well-kept. The land was a unique perspective of the mountains and the stargazing was phenomenal. Our kids enjoyed the pool and especially the animals. Tina and her family took the time to show them their daily farm routine and maintenance. Be prepared for a windy, uphill drive to get there, but it's totally worth it! We would recommend this gem to anyone looking for a unique, off-the-beaten path place to unwind in Puerto Rico! We certainly look forward to returning in the future!

This is a beautiful location and perfect camp spot to explore the island, close to Esperanza and Isabella. Have transportation lined up, either a local with good knowledge of the roads, or renting. Taxis are hit or miss. The casita has everything you need, as long as you’re prepared and don’t expect an Airbnb. Bring a headlamp as you’ll probably be walking a bit, don’t mind the rooster, he’s a good neighbor. Enjoy the island life!

I really enjoyed the simplicity but also challenges of staying off grid. Bathing in rainwater and watching the birds catch wind currents on the hill. All of the neighbors were super friendly, and the local shop, Mambo, was a great place to stop for a drink and catch a ride to Isabel or Esperanza.

The area includes a shower made out of bamboo from the place and gives you a spectacular opportunity to connect with nature while bathing. Gathering around the fire creates a wonderful atmosphere to tell out stories. It is a wonderful place to bring your companion pets. Inside the Scenic Route, our place provides you with a unique experience to reconnect with nature and yourself. The climate is ideal to get cozy with your loved ones, including your pets, and get up slowly between clouds of fog. Over 500 squared meters of half fenced land will provide you a space to explore barefoot with your companion pets. This open space also provides you with the essentials for a special evening: wine glasses, bottle openers, and coal. Inhale fresh air far from the city and the noises. Lie down under the sky and watch the stars and fireflies during a clear night. The camping site has a private entrance with a self check-in gate. Parking spot is located outside the property so you must be willing to walk downhill to access the area. We only use solar or batteries lights. Outside dining table included. Guest can explore around the premises at his/her own risk. Pets should remain on leash. Please, do not cross to the neighbors yards uninvited. Hiking jewels can be found at 20 minutes drive: Las Tetas between Cayey-Salinas, Canon San Cristobal between Aibonito-Barranquitas, and Bosque Carite, Cayey. Other things to note Property is not fully fenced. Nights can be really colds so bring your jackets. The place uses solar lights, doesn't have electricity, so be prepared to connect with nature. Must bring your own tent, blankets and towels. Guest should bring his own food. Coal available no extra cost. Area can accommodate a few other camping tents for an extra charge. There is a private greenhouse in the property where you can buy exotic plants. Please note that this is a residential area. Noises should be avoided. Pick up your garbage. Parking is located outside the property. Respect private property around the camping site.

Crabs in the creek for the kids to catch. It's a jungle. We have a lot of fruit trees on the property. If you see anything ready for the taking let us know and you can partake in the experience of harvesting and eating it. Bananas, avocados, soursop, guava, fig, calabaza, coffee, name, coconuts, pana pen, and more. Clean filtered mountain water is available for purchase. As well we keep a regular supply of Caribbean snacks available. Sweet and savory available for purchase. Exciting.
