By kayak you may visit, preferably at new moon night, one of the 20ths world's unique Bioluminiscent Bay. PR has 3 and one of those is just minutes away to experience!
You'll get to the shack house by a dirty and bumpy road, 32 steps up stairs, must be in shape!
Also you can anchor your boat almost in front of the property (there is no dock for boats there, but you may dock your dingy while visiting Parguera Village, advanced notification has to be made for arrangement.)
Birds, lizzards, manatees, starfishes, stingrays, dolphins, brilliant stars night and breathtaking blue skies, don't say about our sunsets and sunrises! Amazing cays are another natural atractions, ask for Mata La Gata sea pool area. Water in front of the house isn't suitable for swimming if you are not related to waters surrounded by mangroves but you may visit Parguera sea sighting by your boat, by in site boat rental at Parguera, parasailing, diving and many other tours... By car there are plenty of different kind of beaches at nearby towns. There are safe trails to explore.

Camp Arabuko-Rancho Pavilion is beautiful and Zach and Mariah are the most gracious of hosts. It's a real camping experience in the beautiful lush rainforest!!! Swimming holes, caves and springs abound. They are actively restoring the landscape with native plantings and have many rescue animals including a very friendly cat named Indy Cat who came to hang out with us in the rancho at night. Zach and Mariah were so generous with their time and showed us around the property and farm. Carrie and I had a wonderful time!!! Mariah and Zach are beautiful people, and have put together a masterpiece the blends real camping with a touch of the right amount of accomodations.
Waking up to the river flowing and the birds chirping. The animals on the grounds, the bonfires and being around awesome people made me forget all about the world. The trails, river walking, swimming holes, hiking, and trails was awesome to explore.
Just a little drive and we can visit just about anywhere we wanted to go. The perfect all around balance to everything we needed to recharge the batteries.
We love this place and will absolutely be returning sooner rather than later.

7 nights at PR Rainforest Retreat
This is a really special place! The campsite is very comfortable and well equipped. The land is very beautiful. Lush jungle, towering mountains, gorgeous waterfalls and swimming holes. There is a very peaceful and lovely meditation hall. The whole experience is very private and quiet. Sana and Papo are very kind, attentive, responsive and non-invasive. The ocean is a wonderful hour drive away. (the mountain roads are no joke, I was grateful to have a jeep).

3 nights at My Little Shack by the Sea
This beach shack was sooo magical. It had everything we needed to settle in and cook comfortably for a few days. The kitchen setup includes a propane stove, pots/pans, cutlery, a coffee press, and a refrigerator. The fridge was thoughtfully stocked with coffee, sugar, a pitcher of water, and ice.
The restroom was clean and comfortable to use, and the sleeping setup was great, a bunk bed plus a separate full bed.
There are also two two-person kayaks available to rent. They’re great quality, just keep in mind they’re a bit heavy, two people carrying them works best so you don’t have to drag them.
There’s a bug zapper that helped a lot. If you’re especially sensitive to bugs, you might want to bring bug spray, citronella coils, or a mosquito net. The beds didn’t have nets, but personally I didn’t feel like we needed them.
Even though I stayed here with my partner, I’d feel comfortable staying here as a solo female traveler. The only thing I’d recommend is arriving while it’s still light out, the roads are a little dark at night.
My only regret is not bringing a set of dominos to play on the domino table!

Es un lugar mágico y especial…sencillamente es un paraíso. Estuvimos dos noches y mejor no la pudimos pasar. Las facilidades están muy limpias y adecuadas para hacer un camping diferente. Es un lugar de paz y tranquilidad ideal para desconectarse y recargar baterías. This was our second time in six months and still rate this a five! The location is simply "marvelous" and this time around we changed our strategy: we were not going to get a better view to watch the sunset and so, instead of going out to dinner every night, where service is less than ideal, prices above average and the views not as spectacular, we brought everything we needed to cook for ourselves for three nights. It was spectacular! We mitigated the lack of warm water by bringing solar camping bags that warm up the water along with lots of citronella candles.
We are sure we will be returning at least twice per year. What a gem this place is! BTW, we even did some fishing!

3 nights at PR Rainforest Retreat
We spent 3 nights here and it was so good. Literally sleeping in the rainforest. The space is well equipped and we did plenty of cooking while there. Surrounded by banana trees and waking up to the sounds of birds and the river were our favorite parts. We took 2 of Papos yoga/meditation classes and they were a great way to start the day. After we explored the expansive property trails and swimming holes. We are already looking at our calendar to come back! A couple tips, make sure to stock up with supplies in town to limit the trips up and down the mountain. Also we found headlamps to be helpful in the evening.
