What an awe-inspiring, beautiful and grounding experience in Utuado. Our stay at TJ Ranch was more than we hoped for and exceeded our expectations. Tina's warmth, hospitality and farm-to-table meals left us feeling taken care of in a way that moved us to extend our stay an additional night. The cabins were clean and well-kept. The land was a unique perspective of the mountains and the stargazing was phenomenal. Our kids enjoyed the pool and especially the animals. Tina and her family took the time to show them their daily farm routine and maintenance. Be prepared for a windy, uphill drive to get there, but it's totally worth it! We would recommend this gem to anyone looking for a unique, off-the-beaten path place to unwind in Puerto Rico! We certainly look forward to returning in the future!

This is a beautiful location and perfect camp spot to explore the island, close to Esperanza and Isabella. Have transportation lined up, either a local with good knowledge of the roads, or renting. Taxis are hit or miss. The casita has everything you need, as long as you’re prepared and don’t expect an Airbnb. Bring a headlamp as you’ll probably be walking a bit, don’t mind the rooster, he’s a good neighbor. Enjoy the island life!

I really enjoyed the simplicity but also challenges of staying off grid. Bathing in rainwater and watching the birds catch wind currents on the hill. All of the neighbors were super friendly, and the local shop, Mambo, was a great place to stop for a drink and catch a ride to Isabel or Esperanza.

The campsite is located in a private property in the outskirts of El Yunque Rainforest in the town of Luquillo. The campsite areas and facilities are about 8 out of 43 acres of all the private property of rainforest, flowers, palm trees, and various fruit trees. The Sabana River, one of many that originate from El Yunque National Rainforest, the river goes through the property. All the campsites are close by the river with each having their own access and individual fire pits. The local attractions are: -El Yunque National Rainforest 15 minute drive up the mountain. -Las Paylas rockslides (2 minute drive & 8 minutes walking). -The Luquillo beaches which are La Pared, Playa Azul, Barneario de Luquillo. Cranes, owls, hawks, humming birds, parrots, and many more I'm not familiar with visit all the time. We got farm ducks, and chickens too. My neighbor has a flock of Peacocks that are usually out to be seen (it's a hike to see them, but we can take you there if you'd like). Coqui's singing romantic songs all through the night. Crabs in the creek for the kids to catch. It's a jungle. We have a lot of fruit trees on the property. If you see anything ready for the taking let us know and you can partake in the experience of harvesting and eating it. Bananas, avocados, soursop, guava, fig, calabaza, coffee, name, coconuts, pana pen, and more. Clean filtered mountain water is available for purchase. As well we keep a regular supply of Caribbean snacks available. Sweet and savory available for purchase. Exciting.
