Weekend Trip to Courage Creek Camp and Trails

Robert accommodated us perfectly. we had access to a full size tent that was under a lean-to, hose water, chairs and a propane stove. It was a fantastic stay in the foliage. We were comfortable and were able to stay dry and under shade if needed. Robert was very friendly and helpful and gave us information on places to explore. Great, great time for our group of 5. would definitely recommended and stay again. Ps. His wife's snacks are DELICIOUS and would recommend supporting her local business!!

7 nights at Casita Mística: Off-Grid Caribbean

I really enjoyed the simplicity but also challenges of staying off grid. Bathing in rainwater and watching the birds catch wind currents on the hill. All of the neighbors were super friendly, and the local shop, Mambo, was a great place to stop for a drink and catch a ride to Isabel or Esperanza.

Camping at Casa Mango was great! The doggo’s Lela and Ocean along with kitty Lenon patrolled the yard to keep the iguanas up in the trees. Plenty of open space to set up. There’s a massive empty field behind the property essentially giving you a back yard with no one in sight as far as the eye can see. Look forward to going back!

The directions to the property were very clear! The space is well covered from intermittent rain showers. We deeply appreciate Robert and Tonya's hospitality and would highly recommend a stay at their camp site!

Weekend Trip to Finca Monte Bahía

The camping Finca Monte Bahia was amazing, about view, welcoming by owner and spot on top of the Hill. The owner offert banana, star fruit and cacao caboss fresh wont groying on Finca. We have acces at quiet wood and call on farm. We recommande this camping for your next vacation to relax and reconnecte with you.

Barefoot Travelers is so much more than a Hipcamp. It features large clean bedrooms, a kitchen stocked for breakfast along with airy comfortable common rooms. Even with the house being as awesome as it is Keishya is the real star of the show. She went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. Her kindness and hospitality are second to none!

I had a great experience camping on Robert's property. So beautiful, quiet, and secluded. Robert and his wife were so accommodating, and I knew if I needed anything they were a short distance away. The campsite has awning to protect it from the rain, which was amazing to relax and listen to the rain hit the roof. The sunrise breakfast was awesome Robert and his wife are very cordial and interesting to talk to. Robert walked me around and showed me some specific plants on his property and also his chickens and geese were really fun to see. 100% recommend this property to any other campers wanting to take a nice break away from the heat andthe city. Although the campsite felt very secluded it was just a few minutes drive away to shopping and dining options. I definitely felt like I made new friends on the island 🙂

Had a great time staying at Rob’s - host is great with communication, and site is nice and truly feels like you’re in the middle of the rainforest (which you are!). Hosts themselves are super nice and interesting people to chat with; watched the sunrise and went on a hike to see some petroglyphs and a beautiful charco nearby. Highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the area!

Nice cool comfortable spot near a quite beach kinda a surfer vibe which is cool! Nice area to explore or a nice scenic drive!

Great place to camp. Friendly, accommodating host. Owls and coqui frogs at night. Tody, oriole, green mango, bullfinch, shiny cowbirds walking on road in the morning. Good spot to stay if going to search for the parrots at rio abajo. We loved sleeping by a banana tree.

A perfect host! The first thing that jumped out at me was how open and communicative Keishya was prior to our stay. Once we arrived we found her warm and friendly and felt immediately welcomed. The guest house was clean and well supplied and made for a perfect landing spot for our Puerto Rico vacation. I hope we get the chance to return someday. Thank you Keishya :)

I would recommend this camp site 100 percent! The hosts r super cool and made me feel very welcome. There is a river with small waterfall s that u can hear at night very private and secluded perfect spot to unwind. I slept very well and definitely would come back! Close access to numerous very beautiful waterfall s and hiking! 5 stars! Probably the nicest hipcamp I've been to!

Excellent campsite definitely one of the best I've been 2! Hosts are super nice! Very private and relaxing spot! A river runs right next to the campsite with small waterfall s thr sound is very calming ei slept great! 100 percent would recommend going there!

The campsite comes with a 8'x10' Coleman tent, 6' table, and bucket toilet (you remove waste bag) included. A 8 Person Tent is available for rent. If you would rather use your own tent, please message me. Nestled in the mountains of Utuado, Puerto Rico, tucked into our valley, you will find the camp. Be awakened by the sunrise over the mountain tops, near and far. The creek and trails will be waiting, after you enjoy your morning Puerto Rican coffee and fresh bread. The fresh air, the perfect sunshine and good quality mountain food feel great to consume. You can enjoy the plentitude of animals here and surrounding the property. Both wild and domestic. If you're a bird watcher, this is like a natural sanctuary. Song birds sing all through the day, and the doves snore beautifully at night. Cranes, owls, hawks, humming birds, parrots, and many more I'm not familiar with visit all the time. We got farm ducks, and chickens too. My neighbor has a flock of Peacocks that are usually out to be seen (it's a hike to see them, but we can take you there if you'd like). Coqui's singing romantic songs all through the night. Crabs in the creek for the kids to catch. It's a jungle. We have a lot of fruit trees on the property. If you see anything ready for the taking let us know and you can partake in the experience of harvesting and eating it. Bananas, avocados, soursop, guava, fig, calabaza, coffee, name, coconuts, pana pen, and more. Clean filtered mountain water is available for purchase. As well we keep a regular supply of Caribbean snacks available. Sweet and savory available for purchase. Exciting.

Overview

Hop a plane with your carry-on full of camping gear and take advantage of Puerto Rico’s year-round mild temperature and diverse ecosystems. Upon arrival on the tropical island, stop at a roadside stall or “kiosko” to pick up food and other necessities, and head toward one of Puerto Rico’s remote beaches for a coastal camping adventure. On the world-famous Flamenco Beach of Culebra Island, you can pitch your tent a few feet away from the shoreline. For a completely different experience, check out Rio Camuy Cave Park. Exploring the extensive cave system makes for a great day trip. A short drive from the capital of San Juan is the El Yunque National Forest, a tropical rainforest where there are seven designated campgrounds. Each offer a unique, Caribbean camping experience.
