The Sabana River, one of many that originate from El Yunque National Rainforest, the river goes through the property. No a/c, tv, microwave, hot water. Capacity for 4 adults. By kayak you may visit, preferably at new moon night, one of the 20ths world's unique Bioluminiscent Bay. PR has 3 and one of those is just minutes away to experience! You'll get to the shack house by a dirty and bumpy road, 32 steps up stairs, must be in shape! Also you can anchor your boat almost in front of the property (there is no dock for boats there, but you may dock your dingy while visiting Parguera Village, advanced notification has to be made for arrangement.) Birds, lizzards, manatees, starfishes, stingrays, dolphins, brilliant stars night and breathtaking blue skies, don't say about our sunsets and sunrises! Amazing cays are another natural atractions, ask for Mata La Gata sea pool area. Water in front of the house isn't suitable for swimming if you are not related to waters surrounded by mangroves but you may visit Parguera sea sighting by your boat, by in site boat rental at Parguera, parasailing, diving and many other tours... By car there are plenty of different kind of beaches at nearby towns. There are safe trails to explore. You may search for Parguera, PR, to take a glance of what you are missing! Puerto Rico, as a whole is 100 x 35 square miles, is a tropical island with a variety of unimaginable places so get ready for adventure! USA citizens don't need passport, a valid real id is all you need! What are you waiting for?

Remember this is a rural area with just a few traffic lights; we highly recommend arriving early the 1st time to get familiarized with the area.Wi-Fi: There is no Wi-Fi signal in Grandpa's house, but if you need to use it, you can access the Wi-Fi service close to the main house.You will be in the middle of 5 acres of land, in total contact with nature and in an emblematic property from the 50's. In simple words: there are no screens on the windows, and you sleep with a mosquito net. Insects are a vital part of the flora and fauna, and you can see a wide variety of them in the surroundings, from lizards to fireflies. In the same way, and despite the fact that we have an exterminator visit every 2 weeks, sometimes they can be inside the grandfather's house. A real, genuine, and magical experience.For those not familiar with the local driving conditions, it's advisable to approach the journey with a sense of adventure and patience. PR has 3 and one of those is just minutes away to experience! You'll get to the shack house by a dirty and bumpy road, 32 steps up stairs, must be in shape! Also you can anchor your boat almost in front of the property (there is no dock for boats there, but you may dock your dingy while visiting Parguera Village, advanced notification has to be made for arrangement.) Birds, lizzards, manatees, starfishes, stingrays, dolphins, brilliant stars night and breathtaking blue skies, don't say about our sunsets and sunrises! Amazing cays are another natural atractions, ask for Mata La Gata sea pool area. Water in front of the house isn't suitable for swimming if you are not related to waters surrounded by mangroves but you may visit Parguera sea sighting by your boat, by in site boat rental at Parguera, parasailing, diving and many other tours... By car there are plenty of different kind of beaches at nearby towns. There are safe trails to explore. You may search for Parguera, PR, to take a glance of what you are missing! Puerto Rico, as a whole is 100 x 35 square miles, is a tropical island with a variety of unimaginable places so get ready for adventure! In an adjacent structure, the 1950 grocery store, you will have access to a traditional bathroom with a shower, a 2-burner gas stove, a small refrigerator, and a microwave. You will have the basic commodities but live like Grandpa. 3. Visit the iconic ranch where Bad Bunny film his musical video "Pitorro de Coco" Boricua owned! Guest access You will have access to the entire property. The grandpa's house and grocery store (where the traditional bathroom with shower, refrigerator, and microwave are located). This is a rural and country property, surrounded by nature and creeks, with direct access to Cidra Lake. Drive carefully, but all vehicles can get access without problems. Vehicles like a Toyota Camry, an SUV, or a 4x4. Other things to note Use only Google Maps to drive to the property; you can get lost if you use other apps like Apple Maps. Remember this is a rural area with just a few traffic lights; we highly recommend arriving early the 1st time to get familiarized with the area.Wi-Fi: There is no Wi-Fi signal in Grandpa's house, but if you need to use it, you can access the Wi-Fi service close to the main house.You will be in the middle of 5 acres of land, in total contact with nature and in an emblematic property from the 50's. In simple words: there are no screens on the windows, and you sleep with a mosquito net. Insects are a vital part of the flora and fauna, and you can see a wide variety of them in the surroundings, from lizards to fireflies. In the same way, and despite the fact that we have an exterminator visit every 2 weeks, sometimes they can be inside the grandfather's house. A real, genuine, and magical experience.For those not familiar with the local driving conditions, it's advisable to approach the journey with a sense of adventure and patience. The roads, while providing an authentic experience of the country's topography, may require a bit of adaptability from drivers more accustomed to city driving.Compact vehicles are more than capable of reaching our hidden oasis. The key is to drive safely, taking your time to navigate any twists, bumpy roads, and turns with care. What an awe-inspiring, beautiful and grounding experience in Utuado. Our stay at TJ Ranch was more than we hoped for and exceeded our expectations. Tina's warmth, hospitality and farm-to-table meals left us feeling taken care of in a way that moved us to extend our stay an additional night. The cabins were clean and well-kept. The land was a unique perspective of the mountains and the stargazing was phenomenal. Our kids enjoyed the pool and especially the animals. Tina and her family took the time to show them their daily farm routine and maintenance. Be prepared for a windy, uphill drive to get there, but it's totally worth it! We would recommend this gem to anyone looking for a unique, off-the-beaten path place to unwind in Puerto Rico! We certainly look forward to returning in the future!

This is a beautiful location and perfect camp spot to explore the island, close to Esperanza and Isabella. Have transportation lined up, either a local with good knowledge of the roads, or renting. Taxis are hit or miss. The casita has everything you need, as long as you’re prepared and don’t expect an Airbnb. Bring a headlamp as you’ll probably be walking a bit, don’t mind the rooster, he’s a good neighbor. Enjoy the island life!

We chose this campsite for our daughter’s 11th birthday. We had a great glamping experience with absolutely stunning views! It was truly a peaceful and scenic escape. The hike to the stream was beautiful but definitely challenging due to recent rain; the trail was muddy and SUPER slippery, so come prepared with proper footwear. The campsites are near a little drop off, so it’s best to only take big kids. The host was incredibly responsive, kind, and provided detailed information that made our stay smooth and stress-free. Overall, a memorable adventure that we will cherish forever!

I was lucky to have the campground to myself the whole evening. As a solo traveler I was a little apprehensive at first, but everything was so well organized and communicated. I was able to speak to Adam on the phone, he sounds like an awesome dude who truly looks after guests! Sunset and sunrise were gorgeous, and the sound of the frogs, while yes very intense at first (right by my head outside the tent!) it ends up quieting thruout the night. I saw a few posts about people saying the tents looked nothing like the pictures and wasn’t sure what quality to expect. They are only a different color 😂 still just as good! The road up is a tight one, just hug the edge and slow down. Great spot! And the stream was amazing!

Alexa and Naldo have created such a magical experience, staying here was the highlight of our trip to Puerto Rico! We stayed in the cob house, which is a work of art and an inspiration in sustainability. Loved how everything was completely off grid, but never felt like it lacked any common necessities. The composting toilet with the live-in chicken was constant entertainment for my 6 year old daughter. The "hike" down to the serene river swimming hole is not to be missed. Definitely recommend sampling the chocolate as well. We really hope to make it back here someday!

Really beautiful land and very nice set up! We “glamped” in the tent/bed set up and found it very comfortable. We appreciated the fan provided to keep us cool at night. The bathroom and shower were very nice as well! We really enjoyed the jungle walk on the property (but know it’s not for the faint of heart. Very difficult both up and down but WOW so worth it!!) I would recommend arriving in the daylight hours - even with very amazing directions from the host it was difficult to navigate in the dark. Plus, you need to be prepared for an intense drive to the site. Roads are narrow (to the point that you feel it should be a one way but cars will certainly be coming from the opposite direction), curvy, mountainous and a bit pot-holey. This is how a lot of the roads we traveled in Puerto Rico were so just be aware!! We chose to not use the kitchen facility and personally wouldn’t recommend relying solely on that as a means for your meals. Another recommendation is to bring ear plugs! It is SO COOL being immersed in the rainforest but you can’t comprehend how loud of the Coqui (frogs) are & they have a high pitched cry that can easily keep ya up at night. Overall, great and unique experience while in PR!

This place is amazing. Honestly, it's one of the best places we've ever stayed. It is right over the ocean, has everything you need to cook, and is just so incredibly relaxing. Sitting in the breeze and looking out over the water is heaven. We also rented the house kayak and went over to a nearby cay and snorkeled. It's also possible to kayak around the corner to the La Parguera bio bay. So cool! We would stay here again without hesitation and recommend it wholeheartedly.

Eventually emerging to see a lush rainforest all around, a beautiful tucked away river, birds and butterflies of many species flying about.
