Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
We are an eco-conscious household, which means we like to minimize the use of single-use disposables. Instead, the house comes equipped with hand towels, dish towels, cloth napkins &and a gravity-fed water filter to skip the bottled water. We prioritize using natural cleaners, detergents, and soaps that are environmentally + skin-friendly. We do have neighbors with children so the vibe of Casa Trópica is intended for the chilled-out visitor to preserve the Tranquillo vibe of the valley and show respect to our awesome neighbors. Guest access Front house shared outdoor kitchen and porch + grassy lawn up to the Casita. Other things to note 🌴 Disclaimer 🌊 Is this place a good fit for me? In a nutshell: This is a soulful, lived-in guesthouse in a real Puerto Rican neighborhood, just 1 mile from town and beaches. It’s affordable, full of character, and best for travelers who value authenticity and simplicity over hotel-style perfection. 🏡 About This Space This is not a hotel or boutique hotel — it’s my personal home and guesthouse, created with care to offer budget-friendly, outdoor living accommodation in a real Puerto Rican neighborhood. There are three units on the property: • The Casita, located in the back and completely private sleeps 3 • The Loft and Escape Pod, which share an outdoor kitchen and patio Escape pod sleeps 2 The loft has a queen and full size pullout I live on-site for about six months of the year and work in the States the other half to keep this Puerto Rico dream alive. I’ve built this space slowly, with creativity and love — and I’m happy to share it with those who appreciate its energy. 🌿 A Few Quick Notes We provide a clean, comfortable, and affordable stay — but don’t offer upscale hotel amenities like single-use plastic shampoos or conditioners. Instead, we provide an all-natural Castile soap in hand pumps that can be used for the whole body. Also, roosters are part of daily life in Puerto Rican neighborhoods. You may hear them at unexpected hours — it’s part of the local soundscape. There are no roosters next door, but a neighbor up the hill has a few.

La Casita Glamping Bungalow with AC

Cabin · Sleeps 5 · 1 bedroom · 2 beds · 1 toilet
La Casita is a glamping style bungalow in a rustic Puerto Rican neighborhood, one mile from downtown Rincón but surrounded by nature. It is a simple island stay designed for guests who enjoy outdoor living, tropical gardens, nature, and a bit of adventure. We intentionally call ourselves a glamping accommodation. If you're seeking polished finishes, a highly controlled indoor environment, or a curated luxury experience, this is not the right fit. if you like the idea of lounging in hammocks, cooking in the outdoor kitchen, while fluffy chickens run around the grounds this is for you! Perfect for couples, small families, or friends traveling together. Guests with friends can also add a backyard camping tent for an additional fee, though please note there is only 1 bathroom inside the casita. La Casita is ideal for surfers, nature lovers, and laid-back travelers who value character over perfection. This renovated Puerto Rican concrete home is surrounded by tropical gardens and local wildlife. Spend an evening relaxing in a hammock while listening to the symphony of coquí frogs that fills the night air—a uniquely Puerto Rican experience many visitors fall in love with. Because this is a tropical outdoor living experience, you may also encounter salt kissed appliances, geckos, our fluffy silkie hens, tropical birds , neighborhood cats and dogs, butterflies, iguanas, and the occasional bug. While the sleeping area is enclosed and air-conditioned, much of the living space is intentionally open to the outdoors. If you enjoy camping, glamping, authentic Caribbean neighborhoods, and being immersed in nature but also love air conditioning, a warm shower, and a comfortable bed, you'll likely feel right at home.
