The property has been in the Monge family since the late 1940's bought by Jose Monge Marquez. The campsite is located in a private property in the outskirts of El Yunque Rainforest in the town of Luquillo. The campsite areas and facilities are about 8 out of 43 acres of all the private property of rainforest, flowers, palm trees, and various fruit trees. The Sabana River, one of many that originate from El Yunque National Rainforest, the river goes through the property. All the campsites are close by the river with each having their own access and individual fire pits. The local attractions are: -El Yunque National Rainforest 15 minute drive up the mountain. -Las Paylas rockslides (2 minute drive & 8 minutes walking). -The Luquillo beaches which are La Pared, Playa Azul, Barneario de Luquillo. My Little Shack is a wooden structure property with kitchen and living room open spaces, it has 1 private room with 1 full bunk bed and another full size bed, one bathroom. No a/c, tv, microwave, hot water. Capacity for 4 adults. By kayak you may visit, preferably at new moon night, one of the 20ths world's unique Bioluminiscent Bay. PR has 3 and one of those is just minutes away to experience! You'll get to the shack house by a dirty and bumpy road, 32 steps up stairs, must be in shape! Also you can anchor your boat almost in front of the property (there is no dock for boats there, but you may dock your dingy while visiting Parguera Village, advanced notification has to be made for arrangement.) Birds, lizzards, manatees, starfishes, stingrays, dolphins, brilliant stars night and breathtaking blue skies, don't say about our sunsets and sunrises! Amazing cays are another natural atractions, ask for Mata La Gata sea pool area. Water in front of the house isn't suitable for swimming if you are not related to waters surrounded by mangroves but you may visit Parguera sea sighting by your boat, by in site boat rental at Parguera, parasailing, diving and many other tours... I absolutely loved my tent stay on Zach and Mariah's farm! I had full privacy when that's what I wanted and a beautiful river so close by! The glamping was comfortable and serene. I got accustomed to the sound of almonds dropping on the tin roof. Lol The tin roof would have been really nice if it rained but fortunately the weather was perfect for my stay. It was a perfect shelter nonetheless. Zach and Mariah are super sweet and accommodating. They showed me a gorgeous river spot. And the animals are absolutely charming 😍 I will definitely return to camp there again!

Zach and Mariah’s land is absolutely amazing! For the past 4 years my son and I have been camping in Puerto Rico for Thanksgiving week, always staying in different areas to really get to know the island. Hands down, their spot is by far the best! Not only is the campsite equipped with most everything you will need, it has a beautiful creek running around and beside it. There are hiking trails to explore on the land, natural pools to soak in with large boulders to relax on, bamboo groves and old growth trees. And the energy of the place is incredible. What we also loved is that when you’re there you feel so far away from civilization but in actuality only minutes away from food, shopping, everything you need. And with Camp Arabuko as our home base, within 15 min to 1 hour you can be at some of the most gorgeous waterfalls and swimming holes on the island!! Or even down to the coast or back in San Juan in less than an hour. This area is now our all time favorite and we will definitely be coming back to stay with Zach and Mariah, whom by the way, are amazing people and so helpful if you should need anything or have questions.. I highly recommend staying here and am already looking forward to our next visit 🌈☀️🌀💦

My wife and I camp quite a bit, and this was probably our favorite spot. We may have gotten lucky with it being off season, but the campsite was very secluded. We camped out of our van and were able to back up right to the river and listen to the babbling water all night. Only 8 minutes from town. The hikes in Yunque national forest are incredible.

They went out of their way to make sure we had a safe place to park our 22ft camper van, even letting us in after regular hours, after all our other overnight camping options had fallen through. Great communication and a nice spot in the jungle next to running water and plenty of coquis to sing us to sleep. Will definitely consider coming back for more than just an overnight stay next time!

Tomas was great! The place was great! We stayed in his private camping area with an amazing view. We had a rainy first day but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the site. Tomas made sure we had everything we needed. Even though we were tent camping, it was nice having a working shower, toilet, and sink near by. The pool is in just a great location to enjoy such a breath taking view. His art is very custom and overall just a great vibe. He has a little slice of heaven here.

Awesome secluded location! Yet you're not to far from good food and tons of adventure nearby. Robert and his wife were super nice and accommodating. If your schedule allows it opt for the breakfast on the balcony! During our stay we did stuff all over the island this place is fairly centrally located. Which was perfect for our trip.
