My neighbor has a flock of Peacocks that are usually out to be seen (it's a hike to see them, but we can take you there if you'd like). Coqui's singing romantic songs all through the night. Crabs in the creek for the kids to catch. It's a jungle. We have a lot of fruit trees on the property. If you see anything ready for the taking let us know and you can partake in the experience of harvesting and eating it. Bananas, avocados, soursop, guava, fig, calabaza, coffee, name, coconuts, pana pen, and more. Clean filtered mountain water is available for purchase. As well we keep a regular supply of Caribbean snacks available. Sweet and savory available for purchase. Exciting.

PR has 3 and one of those is just minutes away to experience! You'll get to the shack house by a dirty and bumpy road, 32 steps up stairs, must be in shape! Also you can anchor your boat almost in front of the property (there is no dock for boats there, but you may dock your dingy while visiting Parguera Village, advanced notification has to be made for arrangement.) Birds, lizzards, manatees, starfishes, stingrays, dolphins, brilliant stars night and breathtaking blue skies, don't say about our sunsets and sunrises! Amazing cays are another natural atractions, ask for Mata La Gata sea pool area. Water in front of the house isn't suitable for swimming if you are not related to waters surrounded by mangroves but you may visit Parguera sea sighting by your boat, by in site boat rental at Parguera, parasailing, diving and many other tours... Weekend Trip to Barefoot Travelers Rooms Guesthouse

What an amazing place! We loved our stay at Keishya’s guesthouse. It was perfect in every way: the beach, the pool, the nature preserve - near a charming town with wonderful hosts! The communication, cleanliness and attention to detail was excellent. And take the kayak tour to Monkey Island, it was the highlight of our vacation. Stay here, you won’t regret it!

2 nights at My Little Shack by the Sea

This property was everything we expected it to be and more! Here is who, in my humble opinion, would likely love this place: anyone looking for a tropical breeze, quiet evenings and spectacular sunsets! Our only regret is not bringing food supplies so that we could fix our own dinners instead of having to go out each evening. The loud noises “La Parguera” generates, something we are all too familiar with in Puerto Rico, is conveniently blocked by “Punta Papayo”. You will, however, not be immune to the noise or “voseteo” generated by boaters passing by during the day or the flotilla of boats parked at “Cayo Caracoles” a mile away in the water. However, they will go home as soon as the sun sets and you will be treated to the small waves crashing upon the shore the entire night. It will be so quite at night that you will in fact hear fish splashing on the water. Some of the reviews I read beforehand complained about bugs, somehow forgetting they are on a tropical island. If unsure about the bugs, first re-read the description of the place then play it safe and get a mosquito net on Amazon ($9). We in fact CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN and next time we will be staying longer!

Weekend Trip to Hacienda Monte Rey near El Yunque

Awesome campsite, relatively secluded, the creek and coqui and bug sounds can get loud at night but it was great. Very fun to explore flora and fauna in the area. Definitely check out the natural water slides that are about 15 min walk from the campsite. Be aware that it will definitely rain at least a few times during your stay. We tried to hang some towels to dry but that was pointless. Communication with the host and the check in were fast and easily available. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Jubilee Campsite Swim & Paint

This is by far the most beautiful campsite we've ever camped at, with one of the nicest people weve met in PR. The views are stunning with El Yunque and Vieques island in the background with 360° views from the mountain, an infinity style pool, indoor kitchen, fridge, bathroom with shower. This is our new favorite spot, the beauty, wildlife, and host were all fantastic. Thank you for such a peaceful weekend, we'll be back shortly.

Weekend Trip to Barefoot Travelers Rooms Guesthouse

It is difficult to overstate just how wonderful our stay was. The experience is best described as a “Bed & Breakfast” at a prime beach location. While it is not ocean front, it took us a good minute and a half to get to the beach. Trails are everywhere and the host was exceptionally good at suggesting walks, trails to take, so on and so forth. We planned some activities ahead of time but had we known just how private and meticulously maintained the beach is, we would have stayed at the house and would have made our dinners in house. Keishya is an outstanding host and she even made sure we had eggs, muffins, apple sauce and a few other things. I mean, talk about the details!!!! In short, you will not be disappointed if you stay at this location. It is without a doubt the best experience we’ve had with Hipcamp and, mind you, we’ve had nothing but good experiences! It was outstanding in every conceivable way…

2 nights at Hacienda Monte Rey near El Yunque

My wife and I camp quite a bit, and this was probably our favorite spot. We may have gotten lucky with it being off season, but the campsite was very secluded. We camped out of our van and were able to back up right to the river and listen to the babbling water all night. Only 8 minutes from town. The hikes in Yunque national forest are incredible.

Ive been camping 4 times in PR, at all different sites and this site by far was the best. It had plenty of tables and chairs, a huge covered area, running water and hot showers as well as both a charcoal and gas grill. We had a group of 16 and there was space for 2x that number of people. The view was amazing and the river below was a great activity for the kids (ages 2-4 in our group) although the hike up from the river (~20 minutes) was a bit of a workout. I give it a 5 star review and will be back.

Awesome awesome spot. One of the best camping places I’ve been ever been to. Grill, views, private waterfall, and the owner is super friendly. Nice bathrooms and showered too.
