Weekend Trip to Bill S. and Nancy's property

Beautiful and serene property that is perfect for large and small groups. We had a quick stay and would have loved to been able to enjoy the surroundings more than we did. Thank you Bill!

2 nights at Bill S. and Nancy's property

Bill met us in the driveway and we chatted a bit. He showed us where our site was and headed off in front of us to deliver a fire ring and pre-purchased wood. He also allowed us to fill our tank with his hose which was very helpful! No problem pulling in to spot. Plenty of room for camper and truck. Bill made sure we settled in then went off to see to the site for another trailer which was due to arrive shortly. Once they arrived and were also properly welcomed and settled in, Bill came back to chat while we were cooking dinner. My other half drove tractor trailers for quite a while and Bill is a retired driver so they had stories to share! We asked Bill about biking in the area and if there were any local breweries. He gave us directions to sandy creek bike trail and big rail brewing. Both were excellent! Biking on rail trail had numerous bridges to cross with great views and a 1000 ft railroad tunnel to ride thru. Brewery had live music just setting up and was on a great property. Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, barstools, many choices to relax. Indoor bar as well as food trucks and a beer truck outside too! Loved the IPA!

We had a great time camping here. Our tent site was very quiet and serene. Bill was a great host to us and made sure we weee comfortable and knew where everything was.

A wonderful, quiet place with very nice, thoughtful hosts. This was the only place we could find in close proximity to Pittsburgh and you'd never know you were close to the city. Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful time camping at Chris’ land. The stargazing is no joke! Once it gets dark the field is full of so many constellations. Comfortable set up. Best compost toilet Iv’e ever used. Chris was very nice.

Weekend Trip to Cliff Mine Heights

I was in late and out early. This place is great for a traveler’s much needed R&R. It’s got all the basic provisions for recharge, refill, and discard trash. The gravel is level, the neighborhood is quiet, and if you’re facing east the sunrise is a can’t miss feature. Host is friendly, communicative and takes the time and effort to make this a great camp.

We had an amazing time at Bill & Nancy’s place! Our group—4 adults, 2 kids, and 3 dogs—booked the group site and had a huge, quiet, and peaceful area for our two campers. Communication beforehand was easy, and Bill met us at the entrance to guide us to our site. They went above and beyond—Bill set up a firepit and table exactly where we needed them, and we had access to plenty of dry hardwood at a reasonable price. We spent hours playing in the open space, hiking the property, and letting the dogs run free. The kids were obsessed with the pond and loved finding frogs. One of the highlights was the tractor ride Bill and Nancy offered—the kids couldn’t stop talking about it! The bathroom was a short walk away and always clean, which we really appreciated. Bill and Nancy are wonderful hosts, and we’re so grateful they share their beautiful property with others. We definitely hope to return. If it were up to the kids, we’d stay for “10 days!”—and honestly, we just might next time. 😉

Took the dog out for a nice walk along the country road and slept peacefully (actually slept in and was late getting on the road). Serene, quiet, beautifully landscaped property!

Great location if you love water side. The site was amazing, we fished and had a fire at our site every day / night. The management team and workers at Blue Canoe are top notch. The bike trail and kayaking all at your figertips is just awesome.. We bought a site there. That's how much we loved it!

River Hills Above the Allegheny

Located just outside of Parker, PA and 25 minutes from I-80, our campsite is very accessible, yet still very remote. With 4 campsites on 75 acres, guests have ample privacy and space, with the freedom to roam this posted property that has no homes on it. Perched high above the Allegheny there are several spots to take in the wonderful views. There is also a waterfall with a 3’ deep pool below it. Great for splashing with kids or dogs, guests love exploring the creek bottom and making new discoveries. The more curious guests sometimes find the ruins of the original homestead, chimney and spring house that sit upstream. The property is teeming with wildlife. Birds and tree frogs will be the soundtrack of your visit, and often deer will be seen nosing along the outskirts of your site in the mornings and evenings. Turkey, bald eagles and even bear are occasionally spotted, so be prepared to secure your food and trash at night. For those coming to disconnect, you have found the right place. But if cell service is needed, you will have enough to get texts out and depending what site you booked, calls and internet as well. For those who seek an electrical outlet AND and EV charger, we have a site for you! We also have a site with a large canvas tent already set up for your convenience. Within a 15 minute drive of your campsite you can find The North Country Trail, Rails to Trails Trailheads and Boat Launches on the Allegheny River, Groceries, dining and beer. Note: Guests wanting The River Ridge site should book their weekends far in advance, or plan a trip during weekdays!

Growing up and building on the back of our Family Farm is the best goal I ever set for myself! My Off-Grid 20 acres has raised my 2 kids and all the animals we could rescue! We run a Horse Boarding Facility along with Freezer Meat of all sorts. It's a small Hobby Farm but we love it all the same! Family environment that's down to earth! Learn more about this land: Sites 1 and 2 are for campers/tents. Sites 3 and 4 are tent only spots. No shade. Top tent spots up in field (3 and 4) need a higher vehicle to get to them. A bit Off Road. 3 has privacy with Antique Trailer but 4 is wide open. Fire ring at all of them/with wood. Horse stalls/guided trails available for the campers bringing their own horses. If advanced notice, an hour Lesson or Ride can be scheduled. Our animals are friendly and love attention. Dogs welcome but need a leash. Our Family run Farm is willing to accommodate your needs. Book a stay with us as you pass on thru. (Totally Off Grid livin my dream. Remember to burn burnables and take non burnables with you. Generators welcome) Thanx!

There is a maintained hiking trail that starts on the edge of our neighbors property at the end of our road that goes to a state park. Eighteen Acres is conveniently postured near I-79 (3 minutes) / I-80 (5 minutes), The Grove City Outlets (4 minutes), Big Rail Brewing (30 seconds), and Keystone Safari (10 seconds). We sit at the midpoint between Grove City College (8 minutes) and Slippery Rock University (9 minutes). Today, you'll see the property offers a single RV site (with 50/30amp electric hookup and water) for those looking to escape the city and find reprieve in the country. Lord willin', more RV and camp sites will be on the way! We intend to be available May 1st to October 31st (weather pending). Pricing is about $40+ less (nightly) than the KOA! Plus you get a huge space. There is no bath house, sewer/dump station (for black/gray water), or showers at this time, but you'll see we are working towards those things. With good planning and if you prefer, we can be there to help you set up. The site will be clearly marked, and there is more than enough room to back in/out. We can host the largest of rigs (even up to 45 feet). As you can imagine, it takes a lot of mowing to manage grounds of this size. There is a red storage building (for our mower) about 10 yards from the site that we reserve the right to access. We want the place in top shape for you, and we will not mow or weed-wack near your site during your stay. We do have three well behaved pups, and we are about 60 yards away from this site in our cabin. Sorry to say, we are not yet comfortable with guests bringing pets, but this may change soon. Must love dogs, because we do take ours throughout the property for exercise. Though you will see sewer clean outs, our system is not equipped or available for RV septic use as this time. Tampering with or attempting to use the clean outs will likely lead to a discontinuation of your stay. Please forgive us, we are working on a plan for this in the future.
