My partner and I were lucky enough to purchase it in Oct 2020 and our goal is to bring it to its original beauty and charm with the most up to date amenities. Long Beach Peninsula has been a family vacation destination for a long time and there's so much fun to be had on every inch of land! Located centrally between Leadbetter Point and Cape Disappointment, we have 16 full hookup RV sites (30 amp power/water/septic/Wifi) close enough to enjoy the fun of Long Beach and Ocean Park, but far enough to retreat to your camp for quiet and relaxation. Spring time offers a small pond (please see below), but the Lewis river is close by with tons of recreational activities (swimming, fishing, hiking, wineries, etc.). There are only two sites, far from each other. It is a rural property with some farms AND residential homes/Airbnbs along the river, so, be aware there are cars that drive through the one lane road. Town is not far (six miles) to get supplies and the Heisson convenience store is less than a mile away. Privacy is better here than at a public campground and it's perfect for a quick trip out of town for a day or two or just a quick and safe stop in your travels. This is a beautiful property and I enjoy sharing it, please be mindful of the rules. *This winter was tough, lots of wind, so some trees fell, but they are all cleaned up and lots of small trees were planted. Can't wait until they grow to help for more privacy!!! Please, read each site description carefully! There is NO electricity or plumbing at the sites. I did install a BPA safe hose for water at the top of the hill for your use (I usually have it on but if not please feel free to message me and if I haven't responded within a half hour please feel free to knock on my door). Site 1 does have a camp toilet (composting bucket with seat and lid) because it is mostly a tent site (some small RVs and trailers can fit). Site 2 is for RVs (and tents with them) that already have a toilet so if you are a tent camper and want to book this site you will need to bring your own camp toilet. Dogs are most welcome, and may be off leash for a run in the field, however, they MUST have high recall. Please be mindful of my own dogs and chickens down below so please do not let them go beyond your site or the field when using. *We plan on making the pond to be a swim pond that will hold water all year long (the creek that runs into it is seasonal so it dries out depending on how much rain we get in any given year). Currently, it is dry.

It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep camp as a single site, largeer groups are given preference. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area near the house with an electrical outlet and a Flexzilla water hose, so bring containers. We have really nice firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games, hammocks, etc., available for rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild, so bring your tromping shoes. Birdsong comes early here, and the night is filled with the sounds of crickets. No city lights, so the stargazing is wonderful. The goats are gentle, curious, and deep body scratch lovers. The chickens and ducks are not hands-on but some, especially the ducks, will eat out of your hands. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out and keep the lid on the compost. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground, and is just a five-minute drive from camp. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet-in-the-middle location. Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all day trips, just an hour or two from here. We are Judy and Summer and Chula, mother and daughter and dog, and we are pleased you are considering a stay with us. This was an absolutely wonderful place to camp with dogs. We had six dogs among three people and had such a wonderful time on this property! The dogs were safe and entertained and had plenty of space to run and explore and play. We were able to go and enjoy the visiting goats and the ducks and the chickens. Sarah and her partner were super wonderful and welcoming, and we had a great time renting some of the games they had available.

We had the best time at Summers Pleasant places! Three of us and six dogs, the mostly fenced in property and being away from the road created such a relaxing and stress-free few days. This was such a convenient location, close to convenience stores but having the whole back area of the property felt very private. We didn’t mind the farm animal noises or the other regular rural sounds. It didn’t bother us at all. Visiting with the chickens, and goats was definitely a highlight as well. The kitchen sink and counter space was incredibly helpful and well designed! It was so nice to not have to bring all of that extra gear. We loved being about to have a fire to cook over and cozy up to at night. Summer was very communicative and hospitable, answering all of our questions and accommodating us at her place on such short notice. We can’t wait to come back so the dogs can run free in the field again!

Weekend Trip to Salmon Berry Meadows

We enjoyed this sweet, quiet, treed little spot. There was a bit of daytime street noise but nothing continuous or extremely loud. The nights were very peaceful. Linda is very friendly. There was a trash can, recycle bin, and bucket of water at the sight. We have a 21ft travel trailer. Backing skills a must, and a spotter recommended as the path back to sight is narrow and has a bit of a curve to it. Perfect spot to overnight after enjoying the nearby lakes, swimming hole, and State Park.

Weekend Trip to River Mountain Meadow

This place was beautiful, but what really made it amazing were the owners. They are kind and hospitable. Anna brought us a basket of fruit from her garden when she met us. Our elder dog unfortunately passed on our trip and we had to skip a day to bring her home. Anna brought flowers and helped to lend some comfort to my children, and then offered to refund our trip. When I refused and assured her it wasn't necessary she still refunded a day. She and her husband are thoughtful and kind, and I couldn't recommend this hipcamp enough, if only to meet some truly wonderful people.

Cedar and Surf has been marvelous to our family twice this summer and I highly recommend them to anyone with littles or just a desire to enjoy camping or rv-ing with access to the cleanest campsite bathroom I’ve ever experienced and consistent warm water. A small laundry room made the beach (which was within walking distance) so much less stressful with my chaotic little one who went through half their clothes in one day. The rec room with fridge and freezer and sink for dish washing is a lovely touch as well that made keeping our gear tidy much less of a chore. Thank you Sylvana and Al for making our Labor Day a wonderful and comfortable family adventure!

We just had our family reunion here & it was perfect! Very nice & level play area that had a volleyball net already up & it accommodated our Badminton, Corn hole, croquet, bocce ball amongst others. The kids loved running around playing Light Up sq Lazer tag at night too. Several cubby areas that worked for tents, we also had 2 RV’s & a Sprinter and room for all our cars/trucks. The kitchen area was bigger & better than expected & 2 picnic tables for us to play games as well. We all congregated around our RV spot at night for campfire (fire ring since fire ban) & fellowship. We were all up very late, it was so nice not having a curfew! They let us enjoy their goats, which the kids absolutely loved! The property is fenced & gated so we could let our dogs off leash with so much room for them to roam & explore. They had an outhouse too. The property is easy to get to & not far off of I-5, but you feel like you’re secluded in the woods! It’s perfect We all can’t wait to come back!

We camped in our 30 ft coleman. We had a blast with the quick dune walk to the beach with out kids. The only thing I'd say is our spot was tight and didn't allow for our truck to fit there well. All the amenities were amazing clean and very apparently looked after well! My kiddos wishes they had their bikes if we stayed longer! definitely will next time!
