Pull up and let the vacation begin. The Lake Billy Chinook area has everything for the perfect camp trip. There is bike riding, boating, fishing, hiking, ATV riding, swimming, kayaking, lounging and enjoying nature.
When you arrive just park in your site. We have 30-amp service but no RV septic hookup. The site is gravel so you may need to level your rig.
We have a fantastic outdoor area complete with couch, loungers, BBQ and fire pit. The high desert offers some of the most amazing views of the Cascade Mountains with clear blue skies and some of the best star gazing around. Casa del Lago is a dark sky site. There is a fantastic view of Mount Jefferson from the couch and the sunsets are absolutely beautiful.
During the Summer we usually enjoy beautiful sunny days and cool comfortable nights. You can hang out down at the lake and find a spot on the beach to have a picnic. You can also bring your boat or rent one at the Cove Palisades Marina and enjoy water sports.
Hosts live in house on property. We are located 4 miles from the lake and are nestled in a rural country neighborhood.

While our "Outlook / Nest" was severely damaged by the wildfire, the rest of the campsite is recovering well. We open May 22nd, 2026 and the camp season will run through October 31, 2026. We are new stewards and first-time homeowners of this serene, 10.5 acre homestead. 'Modern' human development on this land first began in old logging days in the early 1900s and old logging access road still runs through the center of our property. When we purchased this land in 2020, we knew we were investing in a real 'fixer-upper'.
The original Buckminster Fuller geodome home was built back in the 1970s, and the outbuildings and garden spaces were later added on as the property changed hands over the decades. By the time we landed here, however, the home was in severe state of neglect. As we continue to care for and restore this home and land, we aim to use environmentally sustainable practices to minimize our impact on the land while upcycling, recycling, and re-using anything we can in the process!

We tent camped on one of the RV sites (Potbelly 2) so we could drive up, and we had a fantastic time. Our 3-yr old twins LOVED getting to meet and feed the farm animals, and the people who live on site were very friendly and welcoming. The outdoor bathroom was the cleanest I’ve ever experienced and only a few minutes walk from our site. The showers were a nice feature as well!

Weekend Trip to Casa Del lago 2 Lake Billy Chinook
Susan's place is phenomenal. It's a fantastic location right above Billy Chinook Lake. It has a sweet little cabin you can stay in and a tent site area complete with everything you could need for a weekend away. Her attention to detail is impeccable. Each area has outdoor lounging areas, propane fire pits, outdoor cooking areas complete with supplies, a lovely hot outdoor shower, and a cozy hot tub that's perfect for late night soaking and star gazing. She was the best host you could ask for, so friendly, helpful, and responsive.

We had a wonderful time at Scrumpy forest! The land and the farm are absolutely beautiful. We were greeted by pigs as we walked to our campsite, and our tent spot felt private. The sink and showers were also a nice luxury to have for camping. We were there with our 3 year old, and he loved seeing all of the animals. Paula was so nice, and took the time to introduce us to some of the farm animals. My son loved the ducklings and getting to pet a sweet sheep. We’ll definitely be coming back :)

This place is absolutely amazing. Gorgeous little creek that has small cascading waterfalls all the way down. Short, but steep hike up to the cabin.
Pack only the essentials.
You were just a short driveway from Great restaurants and a grocery store would definitely stay here again 10 out of 10 recommend.

This was such a beautiful and serene little place! There are multiple little areas for campers but we happened to have the place all to ourselves which is just how I’d prefer it. We had our camper but we could have shown up with nothing but our tents, blankets, clothes and food. There are camping supplies, soft lighting, comfortable outdoor furniture, a clean porta potty, clean outdoor shower (with instant hot water!), an outdoor sink with running water, shade and privacy. Even though the major Flat fire was right next to us and we lost water for a bit, it was one of my most favorite camping trips! We were right near Lake Billy Chinook & Three Rivers and a little store/gas station. Susan is the best host! She is so kind and responsive and it’s apparent she takes great pride in the look and care of this magical little place. We will definitely be back!

Me, my partner, and our dog really enjoyed our stay at Cabin Del Courtyard. Susan is so communicative and thoughtful. We enjoyed all of the accommodations, especially the Nexgrill, hot tub (once it cooled down at night), and the fire pit. The hosts have really thought of everything that you need and prioritize their guests privacy. We would love to stay and visit the area again.

Weekend Trip to Crystal Creek Cabin
Were do I begin? This place was amazing. With a teen off to visit family my husband and I wanted a weekend getaway with the dogs. I’m not sure how we got lucky to find this gem last minute but I’m glad we did. One of our dogs can be a little leash reactive so to find a place where he can roam off leash is so wonderful. The dogs loved roaming around while we enjoyed the outdoors.
Don’t be me. I overpacked and wore Arizona Birkenstocks thinking short steep hike, pssshh I’ll be fine! Instead I turned back to the truck and put on trail runners. Pack a day pack with just your essentials and another backpack cooler with food. That’s all you will need! We were pleasantly surprised to find lanterns, coffee fixings and water.
My even keel husband rarely outwardly expresses impression. He had so many good things to say about this place, including the peacefulness, down to the quality of the build. Having built a few things in my day, curiousity got the best of me on how the materials we brought it, would love to see a little book on “how the little cabin came to be”.
We will be back! Maybe next time without dogs so we can enjoy the hot tub, looked like an epic experience!
We did try to find the hike to the falls but the path wasn’t super clear and I didn’t want to intrude on anyone’s space.

Great location with a cabin perched above a fern lined creek back in the woods. Clear directions and flawless check in. Cabin a big comfortable bed with plenty of blankets and was furnished with the basics, including five gallons of water. Easy access to the creek for getting your feet wet and letting the dog splash around in a really serene environment. Didn't meet the owners, but their big friendly dogs came around to say hi, which our dog loved. Very spotty cell and internet service, which can be a plus sometimes. Walk up is a relatively short graveled path but had a couple of steep parts so watch your step and bring shoes with a good tread.

Absolutely perfect. I miss it already. They have set up all the amenities, including the kitchen area, living room, area, private shower, covered area with the camp to stay out of too much sun. It’s very pleasant and just a short drive down to the upper state use area where I was able to play on Lake Billy chinook All day.

John was very responsive and quick to act. When we needed something, he was there. Great experience, friends and I were there overnight for a rafting trip and it was just what we were looking for. Site was clean, spacious, and setup with everything we needed.
As a six person group pricing was generous. Very happy with the experience and will strongly consider again.
