Formerly known as Base Camp RV Resort, this charming park is owned by Martin and Gina Picke', who have a rich history in both aviation and hospitality.
Martin, originally from Auckland, New Zealand, developed a passion for flying before moving to Southern California for college. There, he met Gina, who ran her own architectural drafting business and managed the dog training department at the local Humane Society. Together, they dreamed of escaping the fast-paced city life and immersing themselves in the tranquility of a small-town atmosphere.
Their journey into the RV lifestyle began when they traveled across various states in the western U.S., which ignited their desire to own an RV park. In 2015, they purchased a small motel with a few RV spaces in Merrill, naming it the Wild Goose Lodge Motel. After six years of hard work, they sought a new opportunity and discovered Base Camp RV Resort in Lakeview. Martin's familiarity with the area, stemming from motorcycle rides with friends, made this location particularly appealing.
