The Evans Farm is a Century Farm which has been in our family for three generations (with the fourth generation children enjoying it now).  It was a self sufficient family farm for many years with Jersey Dairy cattle, Suffolk Sheep, pigs, quality horses, both Draft and Riding, and a flock of chickens.  A large garden supplied family vegetables.  A love for the land and the area were all part of the Farm. Located two miles from Joseph, three miles from Wallowa Lake, and close to hiking, fishing, camping, and outdoor adventures, the Farm is secluded but offers easy access to the surrounding area.

Divide Nature Camp

6. Divide Nature Camp

47mi from North Powder · 6 sites
Nestled deep within the Wallowa Mountains, this remote wilderness camp offers a sanctuary for rest, renewal, and reconnection. With six rustic cabins and three tent sites, the land has most recently served as a healing place for combat-wounded veterans—chosen for its quiet strength, natural beauty, and the deep peace that settles in the moment you arrive. Located just ten miles from multiple trailheads into the Eagle Cap Wilderness Area, the camp is an ideal base for hikers, backpackers, and seekers of stillness alike. Though fully off-grid, the property is supported by a solar power system and offers running water and internet access—providing comfort while preserving the simplicity and sacredness of the wild. The surrounding forest invites you into a slower rhythm. Tall pine, fir, and spruce trees release rich, aromatic oils into the air, creating a natural setting for forest bathing along the camp’s trails. Each breath carries grounding and calming properties long known to support the nervous system, ease stress, and encourage deep presence. Wildflowers bloom in season, birdsong fills the mornings, butterflies and dragonflies dance through the clearings, and wildlife quietly moves through the landscape. This is a place where silence is not empty, but full. Evenings invite reflection beneath expansive skies. With no light pollution, the night reveals millions of stars, offering a humbling sense of wonder and perspective. An outdoor fire pit (available outside of fire season) provides a sacred gathering space—perfect for quiet conversation, shared stories, or simply sitting together in warmth and stillness. The outdoor kitchen and picnic shelter support both community and self-sufficiency. Guests have access to a refrigerator, pellet grill, pizza oven, Dutch oven stand, large griddle, and range top. A sink plumbed with a garden hose is available, with hot water heated on the range. Recycling bins are provided, and bathroom facilities are on site. An inground shower on the property offers a refreshing and grounding experience. A 10 station fitness trail will fill the bill for outdoor conditioning and a mile long walking trail, where using all five senses, is perfect for deep immersion in nature.
