Bring your own charcoal, or add it on to your order and we will have it ready for you. Please remember to leave no trace, use trash recepticles and do not leave any food out for the wildlife.
Bringing a pet? They are very welcome here, however, we now require a $30 pet fee due to additional cleaning and potential damages. Please add this on to your booking.
By June 1, 2025, we'll be adding two spacious yurts, each accommodating 6-8 sleeping bags or cots - perfect for families, kids, or groups looking for a unique outdoor stay.
For those seeking a more rustic experience, we also offer nine primitive walk-up campsites.

Pitch a tent in the lovely Pottawatomie County in Oklahoma. We have created a wonderful site in the middle of the forest for you! Lovely oak trees as far as the eye can see, barred owls, deer, hundreds of species of birds. Feel free to explore in designated areas (ask me about other areas outside your campsite), feel nature's rejuvenating energy and be in our sacred space. The site is walk in only, about 100 yards, so bring your wheel barrow or cart, although the property is 15 acres in its entirety, the campsite is on about a quarter acre with one large central site and a few alcove sites. We do have neighbors up the hill, but there is NO Visual of these houses. Sometimes neighborhood kids ride their 4 wheelers down our road and use our cul-de-sac to turn around, and you might occasionally hear them, but you can't see them and they can't see you, but most of the time it's very quiet.

Now that I have, I have a better sense of how to get around the neighborhood. So don’t let previous reviews scare you. This is some beautiful property surronded by the Ozark National Forrest. I came in after dark, found the directions were perfectly suitable, and was met outside by Mark to ahow where the spot was. The quick VW tour and chat was great too, wish I cpuld ha e spent more time talkin cars with him, but I was knackered after a 12hr roadtrip. Fell asleep to coyotes yip'n & yaw'n easily within 100yds. Great spot!

Honest review. Darrel was amazing. Wears a lot of hats and makes sure we are taken care of. He suggested to use the restaurant bathroom from 30 min before open to 30 minutes after close. During the night there are camping toilets in private rooms behind the restaurant. Not my favorite but they have long open hours so it really is for just in the middle of the night use. We decided not to cook but there were grills available outside. Had a few common seating areas for watching sunsets and sunrises. Common campfire that Darrel started and provided wood for, himself. We ate all our meals at the cafe. They are very considerate of food allergies preferences no sugar or lots of sugar if needed. Full bar, the chocolate drop martini was delish. Coffee was awesome. Had almond and oatmilk low sugar. Healthy choices from quinoa, black bean burgers house cut fries, latino favorites like hueve rancheros, teas, yerba mate, beer. Turmeric lattes. Very fresh tasting and yummy. They had real egg or imitation eggs or “cheggs” also had real chicken or crushed chickpeas in the quesadillas. Lots of choices. Servers were prompt and kind. The room was cute in decor, bed was comfortable and I have lower sacrum problems and it didn’t hurt to sleep on it. I was hoping there would be a tent heater but there was not one so we used the blankets that were very comfy on the bed and an extra sleeping bag and was very cozy. The tents did have condensation. Camping on Mark and Angela’s land was simple. They met us when we arrived, gave us a great tour of the VW Krankenhaus (which as former owners of several different VWs, we enjoyed!), showed us where to find the facilities, and left us to set up camp. They were friendly and their place was as described.

I found the location very easily and the owner even warned me of a dip in the road so I came in from a different direction (which they outlined to me) because I have a relatively low to the ground clearance trailer that I tow. Mark and Angela were very helpful reaching out to me before and during my trip. They are both VW enthusiasts and Angela gave me a tour of their VW collection in and around their pole barn garage. They were both very hospitable and I enjoyed my stay there.
They made their cabana bathroom available for my stay which was super nice. Would highly recommend if you're in the Oklahoma City area as a place to stay.

Weekend Trip to Hippie Hill
I really enjoyed my stay at Hippie Hill! I booked the Zion Tent for my first night of my stay in the Wichita Mountains. I had never been to the area and it was nice to have a stay in town to get the lay of the land before venturing into the park. The bed was super comfortable, and the tent was nice and warm and protected me from the heavy winds. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. It is right in the center of the town and the cafe provided a delicious meal and coffee before I started out on my hike the next day. My only critique is that the guest outhouse was locked overnight, but I was able to use the cafe bathroom during business hours. There is some road noise so it’s not necessarily a secluded sort of experience. But it was nice to enjoy a soft bed after a long day of travel before camping the next 2 nights! Again the owners and the cafe were really nice. I’d definitely recommend this spot for someone who wants to enjoy Medicine Park during their trip to the Wildlife Refuge.

We absolutely loved camping here. We opted for the wall tent and we loved the “icy freeze” fan. In the morning there was the lightest rain, so we enjoyed the sound of the rain on the canvas, but thanks to a nice breeze, we never got too hot.
It was too windy for a fire, but The Healthy Hippy Cafe had Taco Tuesday with the best jack fruit tacos I ever had! The drinks were fantastic and there was even an open mic night. Live music, great food, and a night spent in nature.
I’m not a seasoned camper by any means—I’m more of a spa day girl, but this was incredible!

the hosts are wonderful, passionate people. they have a wonderful property, with a nice area to tent. although the shower is only cold water, it is a very nice amenity. the car collection tour was amazing, if you love cars, this is a very special addition to a camping experience.

Great off-grid spot for some real primitive camping. It's right where the creek and river meet. Took my son for his first camping trip there for father's day weekend. The owner is really nice. When we arrived to the property, we were confused where to go, and we called him for directions. He stayed on the phone with us the entire time until we found our camping site. Plenty of wood and fish out there. Also deer, rabbits, etc. Also several acres to explore. Highly recommend.

Great spot and even greater hosts! Easy to find, freshly cut grass at my site, quiet, and plenty of room to stretch out. The hosts were extremely welcoming. I wish I had more time to have gotten the VW tour!

25 ft Class C
Everything went well except for the weather, which they had no control of. Enjoyed our stay, we were there for 4 days visiting family in the area. The Baumgartens are wonderful host, checking on us every night to be sure we okay.
We were in our self contained motorhome, so we weathered the storms just fine.
There camp site was was beautiful and well maintained. We really enjoyed the solitude and peaceful site.
We will definitely stay there again. We have recommend them out family and friends.

Mark and Angela are amazing from communication on the app to the hospitality in person. Just wonderful people and we highly recommend and we will be back for sure! What a cool place to stay! (we were tent campers).
