Experience environmentally friendly tiny home living within 25 miles of Hocking Hills. Very secluded off-grid, solar-powered cabin in the woods on 167 acres. Relaxing porch with amazing view, great for stargazing and sunrises. Full-sized bed sleeps two, though children are welcome. Located 15 min. from Chillicothe, 5 min. from Tecumseh, 30 min. from Hocking Hills parks, the property offers rolling fields and woodlands, private hiking, two ponds, and scenic views in a peaceful, natural setting. Outdoor fire ring for cooking out. Firewood provided. Seclusion! Though our home and farm are located on the property, they are not in sight or hearing of the cabin. There are no other cabins on the property, and no other houses or buildings are visible from the cabin. It is quite private. Views of the surrounding fields, woods, and hills are included in the photos. Deer, turkey, foxes, birds, butterflies, and other wildlife are plentiful. Private hiking. The cabin is approximately 220 square feet and sleeps two comfortably, though children are welcome. In addition to the full-sized bed, an adult-sized cot and toddler-sized mattress and extra bedding are available in the cabin. There is also room beside the cabin for a children's tent. Water source for washing and bathing is a rainwater cistern. There is both hot and cold running water. Drinking water will be provided, or guests may bring bottled water. There is no air conditioning. The eco-friendly, solar-powered, Amish-built cabin is naturally cool and comfortable. There are two fans. There is a heater. Composting toilet. The cabin has a microwave, electric lights, ceiling fan, portable fan, and dorm-sized refrigerator. It is off-grid, solar powered with battery backup, so power is available after dark. My stay in the Sugar Shack at Fruitdale was magical and transformative. I loved everything about it. Aimee has created a beautiful, idyllic farm, gardens, and sanctuary, everything was just as described, and I couldn’t have had a better time. I especially loved being visited by Tangy, the cat, sitting by the pond, and exploring local hiking trails. The Farm Stand is great, too, and next time, I’ll get my produce there! Thank you for your hard work, hospitality, and careful stewardship of the land. Will definitely return and recommend to others.

My family and I had a lovely time in our little cabin. We were greeted when we arrived and got all the info we needed for the weekend. Even the resident dogs came to say hello, which the kid loved. Mornings at the cabin were particularly beautiful- so peaceful and full of song birds. There were other cabins on the property, but the lush forest made you feel secluded. It was a nice little getaway.

David made us feel welcome and taken care of. I appreciated the fire already being built since we arrived close to dark. It’s clear they have taken a lot of care to create a unique space. The creek is perfect - somehow there were no mosquitos. Would definitely stay here again. We happened to be the only ones staying on the land that night so it felt very private, but I think it would still be a nice experience with multiple guests staying at the other cabins due to the landscaping making you feel “tucked”.

We had a great experience at Hocking Hills Family Fun Center! The kids had an absolute blast and stayed entertained the entire time. We also stayed in one of the cabins for two nights while traveling home, and it was a fun and comfortable place to relax and recharge. The bathrooms were clean, the showers had plenty of hot water, and the entire property was well maintained. What really stood out was the staff, they were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. If you’re traveling with family and looking for a place where the kids can have fun while the adults can relax, this is definitely worth a visit. We made some great memories and would gladly stop again!

Super clean and updated cabin! We stayed in cabin #112 nuthatch. Very comfortable and all the amenities were great. They have a dog waste station which was very convenient and helpful. Lots to do and very close to the hocking hills. The staff were very friendly and accommodating! Will be back, highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Fruitdale Farm

I love Fruitdale Farm. The Cattail Cabin was just what we needed for a quick (rainy) weekend trip. We stayed warm and dry and spent a lot of time sitting on the porch watching the red-winged blackbird fledglings in the cattails and their parents coming and going. We fell asleep to the sound of peepers and awoke to the chatter of birds.

Such an amazing place! Fruitdale Farm is worth your trip. Friends and I stayed in the Cattail and Sugar Shack cabins. Everything was exactly as advertised, and the land was beautiful. We enjoyed exploring the trails, soaking up the sun by the pond, and feeling cozy in our cabins at night. We hiked on Arc of Appalachia trails within a 15 minute drive - what a treat! I would definitely recommend Aimee's place to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the woods.

Weekend Trip to The Viking Longhall

We had a great stay overall. The Viking long hall was definitely a standout—such a unique and memorable feature that really sets this place apart. David and Iveagh were very kind and welcoming, and made it clear they were available if we needed anything. As experienced campers we didn’t need much assistance, but it was appreciated knowing they were there. The available hot shower and water were a great accommodation and definitely added to the comfort of the stay. The campsites are not on top of each other, but they aren’t very dispersed either. If you’re looking for a more private, spread-out experience, this may not be the best fit. Regardless, we felt nothing but welcome and accommodated. Overall, a really cool spot with a lot of character. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others looking for something a little different.

It has everything you need -- from the little things to the big things. It is a beautiful cabin with plenty of space for 8-9 adults. Three spacious full bathrooms. I also love how it is deeply nestled in the woods but still only 5-10 minutes to a town with a grocery store.

Cozy & eclectic space. The Lyra hoop is super fun…wished we didn’t need to hit the road as I would have played on it for longer 😊 We loved the decor & peaceful surroundings outside. Very nice host. She hosts workshops & sells handmade items— again, with more time I would certainly partake. Breakfast was appreciated & was one less thing to worry about for us before continuing on our drive!
