We had a great time at the swimming hole- the host Carlos answered all of our questions and the location was so cool. We took two 8 year old boys and they were in heaven fishing and playing in the creek. We are already aiming on bringing them back in the spring. Nice and flat terrain for our tent and picnic table was clutch. Definitely would recommend.

I loved tent camping on the Away from the World Farm! Such a lovely place with kind hosts and adorable animals. The wooded area was perfect for camping. There was a fire pit and a picnic table. We had a lovely time.

Super clean! Tom and Melissa were accommodating and responsive. We enjoyed the low maintenance trip. There was even a propane fire pit. Nobody had work! Thanks for having us!

Wow, what an amazing stay! Carlos was such a friendly and helpful host, and his directions made getting there super easy. The campsite was beautifully set up and had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The creek was wonderful and we loved waking up to the peaceful surroundings. You can really tell how much care has gone into this place. We’re already planning our next trip back!

We really enjoyed our stay. It was right by the river, with a covered pick nick table, plenty of free firewood, a place to fish or swim. There were a number of spots to pitch a tent with out roots, nice even ground. A place to cook was also a nice touch.

Great location… very clean… remote enough to be disconnected, but close enough to a gas station/convenient store/highway in case you need anything. Has everything you need. Above all are the owners Tom and Melissa. We originally booked to stay a few months ago, we showed up on the first day, but had to leave within an hour of arriving due to an accident my son had at home. We left immediately and left all of our luggage, coolers, clothes, etc. Not only did they refund our money, but Tom also loaded up all of our stuff and found a way to meet my dad a few days later to give him our things which was a huge help given the situation we were in at the time. It was a 3 hour drive for us and they split the drive with my dad to help. We appreciate them more than they will ever know for helping us during the worst time of our lives.

Great little piece of land. It had lots of little things other places don’t have, like hammocks and floats for the creek. Access to the swimming hole and pebble beach are down some pretty steep embankments, but there are ropes there to pull yourself up, if you’re so inclined. The shelter over the picnic bench was nice too, though rain wasn’t a factor for me. I didn’t time it, but it’s about a 60-90 second walk from the parking area to the campsite. Carlos has a cart there for hauling your stuff to the site. Instead of making 4 trips carrying things, I made it in just one trip with the cart. Wanting peace and quiet on my solo trip, I was a little concerned about road noise due to the proximity to the road. It ended up being a non-issue for me, as the road was sparsely traveled during the day, and almost no overnight traffic (that I noticed!).

Awesome spot for fishing, leisurely paddling, and car camping. Clean, water was great, firewood was well seasoned and appropriately priced, outhouse was accessible and not terrifying (I only rate outhouses as terrifying or not). Will be coming back very soon.

Weekend Trip to Away From The World Farm
I’ve been on Hipcamp for a long time. This is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had while camping. You drive through an incredible farm (not a farm that’s used to pump out cattle, but a farm where every animal has a name and a reason for being there other than mass consumption) to get to the back part of the property, where the camping area is. It’s a fantastic forest that has been kept nearly 100% natural, but has the best and cutest outhouses made from natural wood by the son of the owner, and they’re spotless. Whatever you do though, pay the extra money for the farm tour. The host is one of the most genuine and endearing people I’ve ever met and she LOVES taking you around the farm (which has belonged to her family since the mid-1800’s 🙂↕️) They have so many sheep that are so friendly and cuddly. And they’re not made for meat like on a normal farm, so they’re the actual size of sheep, which is WAY smaller than you would imagine haha. The camp sites are so far from the farm that you feel like you’re in the actual wilderness. And there are only a few, and they’re far apart, so even if it’s fully booked, you feel alone in the woods - in a good way. Overall, I could write so much more about this farm, but there’s a character limit so I can’t lol. Either way, CAMP HERE! It will be an amazing experience and you will love every minute of it. Cannot recommend this place enough.

We loved tent camping on Drew's property! It is absolutely beautiful here. The sites are spaced perfectly so that any noise made by other campers isn't too loud. We spent our anniversary weekend here and it was the perfect spot for it!! We definitely loved our little visitors that came by occasionally! The toilet was an unexpected plus! The property was really clean. Fishing could've been better but it was also chilly so that may have been why. 1000% recommend staying here!
