We wanted to camp where there were few people, no RVs and peace and quiet. That is exactly what we got!! The camp sites were not on top of each other and in the woods. The hosts were super friendly and accommodating as one of our campers accidentally pressed buttons on her phone (she was unaware) which called 911 and brought the sheriff’s department out to the property at 4:30 in the morning. We all had a good laugh! Definitely recommend!!!

We had a wonderful time camping here. This was the first tent camping experience in the woods for 2 people in our group and it was a great example of how fun camping can be. The site we picked had a lot of tree cover and a hammock and plenty of room for 2 tents. There was room for kids to explore and a such great experience meeting the lambs, chickens and baby cows. We felt very welcome and they made sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend.

This was my second trip to Away From the World, and will definitely not be my last. Stassia is an excellent host, and her land is beautiful and secluded. There is ample distance between campsites and plenty of room for both tents and hammocks. As a bonus, the chickens and sheep are very curious - if you wander up toward the pasture area they will come check you out.

I loved this farm. Beautiful land and well taken care of animals. Quiet, secluded, the campsite we were given has its own private outhouse that was super super clean and easy to use. I would stay here again and again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this farm camping site! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the owner pours their heart into the place — incredibly kind, welcoming, and impressively thorough. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the layout of the sites to the little touches that make camping comfortable and memorable.
We stayed at the Ravine site, and it was nothing short of sublime. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle, it truly felt like we had stepped away from the world. Peaceful, scenic, and perfect for unwinding. It's also a fantastic spot for kids, with plenty of space to explore and engage with nature.
Don’t miss the farm tour — it’s a great way to connect with the land and the animals, and you’ll come away with a deeper appreciation for the care that goes into everything here. Be sure to buy some eggs too — delicious and a great way to support this wonderful local business.

Peace and quiet, everything you want when camping. Your tucked back in the property which was great, I did not hear 1 car or a plane during my stay. I heard the owls at night and the sheep and the roosters in the morning. Loved it. The owners were so nice and the sites were great. They have 4 sites too choose from and it's a 1st come basis. I will be coming back.

This was the perfect place for our young family to camp. There were three other families / groups there at the same time, but our site still felt very private and everyone was quiet and respectful of others' enjoyment of nature. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, and our son loved feeding the animals. Just a short drive from Mohican, too. A great experience!

We had an amazing weekend! The hosts were amazing and the campsites are cozy and secluded. It was great to see all the farm animals and we enjoyed evening walks through the woods. The place is quiet and peaceful and listening to the owner tell us a little bit of family history on the property just added to the experience! This was our first time using HipCamp, but it won’t be our last. By the way, Morris is the coolest camp kitty ever!

We had a wonderful time at Away From the World! The four campsites were spaced, but visible, but thankfully out neighbors were also there to enjoy the quite this fall weekend. Our host was delightful, and we very much enjoyed a farm tour to meet the chickens who laid our breakfast eggs, as well as some sheep, cows, horses, and even a couple ducks. The firewood was fairly priced and perfectly seasoned. The chemical toilet was very clean and convenient. We highly recommend this site.

beautiful campsites and it really is "away from it all"-- tucked away down a back road and in a nicely wooded area! the campsites have a picnic table, a trash can, and a firepit. we requested firewood and there was enough to burn until bedtime. neighboring campsites are visible but far enough away that they do not feel intrusive at all. the campsite we stayed at was completely wooded, so no stargazing, but the peace and serenity of staying under the trees more than made up for it!

My experience was very positive. There are 4 campsights nicely spread out from eachother each with it's own unique Vista. It is possible to drive near your sight and unload and then a place for parking bulack up the hill.
They have made cute and convenient outhouse that are very well kept. The provided hammock was super comfy. I enjoyed the winding ravine and the rolling hills you can explore the terrain which was not overgrown or walk the stone road that winds around the property. I encountered a few rain showers on visit. However, the canopy of lush trees made for a natural umbrella from the elements. It also helped shade the sun on the hot days. It is commons to see dear and little forest animals scampering about Itook the farm tour and enjoyed hearing the history from Virginia and her explanations of how they maintain their agriculture and livestock. You also have the option of buying wood or may scavenge your own from the many manicured and naturally felled trees spread throughout.
I truly did feel, Away from the world.

The site was perfect for our 2 hammocks, and had a convenient portapotty. Overall it was clean and comfortable, and the hosts were absolutely lovely. Looking forward to another visit!

It was a wonderful experience! The host is kind and responsive, friendly and helpful. The animals are adorable and there is plenty of space to walk around. In the evening we enjoyed sitting by the campfire and think of nothing. Empty mind, open heart, cantata of the forest creatures...connection with nature! The farm tour was fun. The breakfast was delicious. We had a great time.

My husband and I, and our two dogs, thoroughly enjoyed our camping trip to Away from the World farm. We were shown to our campsite by Josh. He was very personable and chatted with us for a while before leaving us to get our site set up for our two night stay.
Shortly after Josh left, his mom brought us our wood in a wheelbarrow; one of the extras that you can order when making your reservation. She was also very kind and shared some of the farm’s history, including information about their family.
The area for camping is lovely. It’s wooded, so plenty of shade, which we needed as it was hot and humid during our stay. A meandering stream runs through the camping area, which we enjoyed exploring, along with the woods. There is an outhouse with a composting toilet, conveniently located to the campsites.
We were so spoiled having the campground to ourselves, which I gathered, is more likely to happen when camping during the weekdays.
The second evening of our stay, the rain decided to come our way, which unfortunately kept us from taking our farm tour. (We plan to take that farm tour on our next visit, as we definitely plan to camp here again!) We were thankful for the good reception on our phones/iPad at this location, since we stayed in our tent that evening through the next morning, because of the rain. We enjoyed streaming some shows/movies.
Critters found their way to the garbage can. Not a surprise as this happens when camping! Best to keep food/garbage in your vehicle.

Absolutely beautiful area, and the hosts were very welcoming. Although the weather was hot, our site was cool, green, and shady. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. The bathroom was really a tiny, very clean, handcrafted "outhouse" with a composting toilet, but it actually added to the charm. Plus, the hosts had put hand sanitizer and even a scented candle with a lighter inside. The nature trail was lovely, too. There was also a nice picnic table and a large trash can with a bag already inside. The fire pit, made of what looked like large river rocks, fit our needs perfectly. We would have loved to visit the farm animals but didn't get to. But we hope to return to Away From the World again someday. Highly recommended!!!

Camping here was a absolutely wonderful experience, the owners are great people with so much knowledge about the history of their land. If you ever have a chance to stop by take that opportunity right away. While at it don't forget to purchase the farm tour because you get a close up with the animals on the farm, but If you decide to do so then bring pants in case of poison ivy! Thank you all again for this chance and I'm excited to see the future of this farm.

My wife and I used "Away from the World" to introduce our two small children to the joys of camping.
Away from the World is a wonderful place with lots of wooded areas and we were met with a friendly introduction and the wood we had purchased.
Our family particularly enjoyed the tour of the farm which was very informative and will be a lasting memory for our kids as they got to learn about the animals and even hold a few.
We would definitely go back for another visit.
