Weekend Trip to Uncle Chuck's Cabin

My husband and I spent a 2-night getaway at Uncle Chuck’s cabin. It was a cool, rainy weekend and the cabin stayed toasty warm with the wood burning stove! Plenty of fire wood supplied, as well as paper plates and bowls and plasticware and some bottled water, Kuerig with coffee and hot chocolate. We slept well; loved the porch and view of the river; we walked the trail; played some Yatzee and cards … went into town for dinner. We hope to come back in the future with our kids and bike the trail!

Weekend Trip to Mirror Lake Bunkhouse llc

We had such a great stay at Kathy’s cabin “old Phil”. There are plenty of clear trails to walk on and fishing off the pier was great. Even with the bit of rain we got our first night it didn’t put a damper on the trip. We definitely look forward to returning in the future!

Weekend Trip to McCormick Artisans Woods/River

This place was awesome. I can’t even say enough good things about it. The hosts are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They make sure you’re comfortable and keep you informed on anything going on around there. Made sure the fires were going when we got there and everything was really clean. Not one complaint. It is my ideal outdoors spot and I will be keeping this information for the future and to share with others. They set the bar high I don’t see any others being like this. 10/10

We loved our stay at Uncle Chuck's Cabin! The amazing waterfront property does not disappoint! The cabin was great and very well appointed. We enjoyed being so close to the tow path trail and hiking to the nearby metroparks. Chuck was just the sweetest and made sure to leave no some unturned when showing us around the property!

2 nights at Uncle Chuck's Cabin

We had a great time, very peaceful and private. Chuck and his wife were very kind. We had a blast fishing, better than we expected! We didn’t even want to leave this morning! We caught 4 fish in 1 hour 45 mins before we left. 3 drums and a baby cat. Yesterday evening 2 large cat fish 3 lbs and 5 pounds, along with another drum. A lot of things are provided for you which is amazing. We brought everything we needed because we were unsure what was there, we forgot a couple of things but Chuck had them handy, like tongs and an oven mitt. You can get by while staying here with just clothes, fishing poles and food. It’s set up like you were visiting your parent’s cabin, it’s a nice and convenient stay! We couldn’t use the boat because the water was choppy but I would have LOVED to be out there and it would’ve made it even better. I’m already trying to figure out when to come back when weather is better!

Great location on the water with nothing but privacy with no one around. Cabin was awesome for someone who loves the rustic trip with no running water and little electricity. Easy and quick introduction before settling in.

This cabin was amazing! It's tied for first place for my favorite cabins. It is very clean, private, has an excellent view, and great amenities. The price is very competitive. Chuck and Anya were very nice and accommodating. It was cold out, the stove kept the cabin cozy with the provided firewood. I'm very short and the provided footstool made accessing the loft steps easy. Would stay here again.

You better believe this wood stove cabin is COZY! We enjoyed a weekend here while negative degree real feels iced over the outdoors. Very friendly and thoughtful hosts ensure you'll have a nice stay here. Quick zip to downtown Jonesville's charm and don't forget the amazing hiking in this NCT town! If you don't know, the cabin's reading materials will get you up to speed.

We loved our stay at Mac and Ann's place! Our goal was to hike some of the NCT but Mother Nature iced us in so we ended up staying at the cabin drinking beer and putting a puzzle together. We have a fantastic stay and the woodstove kept us very cozy. We would definitely stay there again no matter what the weather.

this was a perfect cozy cabin experience. everything provided if you left something behind. Chuck was very helpful with directions and when refilling the generator. Love the wood stove, we took the chance to cook inside instead of in the cold on a gas stove

Lovely spot, just as cozy as can be! Chuck showed us how to operate the cabin and we spent a warm night snuggled up inside. It was a little cold and snowy to use the expansive front porch to admire the river, but we look forward to another visit during the warmer months:).

1 night at Uncle Chuck's Cabin

Had a awesome time, very secluded with lots of nature's wonders all around. Very peaceful kicking back and rockin on deck as river floats on by. The cabin is very nice the main bed is in the loft and with no railing if steps are down can be very tricky, handles are installed to help. The bed is incased In plastic so for those that are sound sensitive ( like myself) it could prove to be problematic. Also not the most comfortable. Other than that we really enjoyed our escape to uncle chucks, and thank them for their hospitality. Terri & Sam

This property is a great place to enjoy nature. The Metropark has an easement through the canal. Bendview park is nearby. Undeveloped park acreage is near the access road to the east. Fly kites or drones in the grassy field. Snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are fun winter sports to indulge in. Birds find sanctuary here. Baltimore orioles, Cedar Waxwings,eagles, bluebirds and pileated woodpeckers pass through. Arrowheads have been found everywhere. There's peace and quiet in the surrounding area. We bought this property in 2012 and have built several buildings and forged paths throughout the 32 acres. Our road is part of the North Country Trail, a footpath stretching over 4,600 miles from Middlebury in central Vermont to Lake Sakakawea State Park in central North Dakota. While tearing down the existing house, we constructed two bedrooms in the pole barn for a quick living space. Once settled in the pole barn, we a built a small log cabin with already felled timbers from the local woods, except for the box frame which was purchased from the local Amish. Prior to building our permanent log cabin home, this small cabin was our camp site and is now being rented to people that want to relax and enjoy the outdoors. In the middle of the woods, we created a campground to be enjoyed by hikers and on the North side of our property is a tree line between two fields that is a great small camper/tent camping spot.

With Amish farms and families all around. The Mirror Lake Bunkhouse has all amenities. You are welcome to cook over an open fire, use the grill or the small kitchen accessories provided. don’t forget the option is always available to go out to dinner with a restaurant only 4 miles away. Although we are located in the middle of the country. You can wake up to beautiful sunrises or take in breath taking sunset in the evening. The lake is a private lake owned by three property owners. Our Cabin # 2 “Old Phil” Is located on the west side of the lake in a 15 acre woods. About 1-1/2 miles away is Our cabin # 1 “Little Elk” Is located near the little Elkhart River. Nestled in its own 10 acre woods. Both of these properties are primitive ( no running water in an out house for a bathroom). Firewood is provided and there are trails in the woods to walk. The Mirror lake property has been a family farm for over 185 years. There is a family cemetery that dates to 1832. If you want to be around a lot of people in the fast track this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for peace, quiet, tranquil, social distance but still enjoyed this is the place for you!
