Our farm is a beautiful, private 25 acres with an 1830s house, outbuildings, animals, orchards, gardens, pastures, old trees, wildlife habitat, a spring, and woods. Here you can relax; watch nature; meet our chickens, goats, horse, cats, and dog; take guided tours to learn about the farm, animals, plants, archaeology, and history or learn to make mead; and purchase eggs and homegrown seasonal food and products. Listen to birdsong and watch clouds during the day, wander a path through our 5 acres of woods, see fireflies in the evening, and star watch at night. Nearby are hiking, horseback riding, historical sites, fishing, antiques, breweries, shooting, and more. We are located in a rural area and have many different domesticated and wild animals so you may hear diverse animal noises and see or smell animal poop, although we try to keep things clean and tidy. Our neighbors have dogs, cattle, and chickens/roosters and occasionally shoot guns during daylight hours (one neighbor is a sporting club with skeet shooting and hunting dogs) but typically our farm is a quiet and peaceful place. We mow regularly and our rooster and chicken ladies wander far and wide eating bugs but, in the summer, they can't get every mosquito and tick so please plan accordingly for your own comfort.

Additionally we are within biking distance of the heart of downtown Durham! We have a large backyard with room for tent, as well as a super cozy popup camper available for you to rent out. This property certainly has an urban feeling, but we have a fire pit, hammock, and compost toilet

I love this farm space and Rebecca who runs it. I rented the pine run site. Spacious and comfortable. Walks around the farms are beautiful feeding a friendly horse and saying hi to the goats and chickens. Rebecca offers breakfasts st a reasonable fee but i missed that during my second visit here. You cant miss out on visiting here.

Excellent spot away from the city but not to far out of the way. Right on the water side made for excellent mornings sitting around the fire enjoying coffee and enjoying the view. The host was exceptional with everything from first meet and great to departure. If you want a quite relaxing weekend away I would highly recommend this spot.

Peace and quiet place to relax and fish for shiners. Plenty of firewood if you have a chainsaw. Plenty of flat ground for 10x10 tent. Shaded by the lake and sunny by the field.

Nice little pond with some fish. Tossed my line in and caught something in 5 minutes. Great for little kids. Pond was glass in the morning, it felt like I was hours away in the middle of nowhere.

It was nice to know if rain came that I would stay dry under the tractor shed. Plenty of room for my tent and my car double that. You can hear road noise just slightly. Rebecca's land and camp sites are tidy, well built, beautiful, instructions are clear and it was peaceful.

I loved tent camping at pine valley location. The long morning walk to the barn was perfect with a cup of coffee. Rebecca went above and beyond for my 7 and 8 year old. Lots of exploring and interaction with the animals. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to go back. Thanks for sharing your piece of heaven with us Rebecca!

The description of the camp site could not match beauty and how peaceful it was. It was nice sleeping under the large shelter of the tractor barn

Great communication with host for directions and camping details. Exactly as described, however I would recommend only a truck, some of the paths are tight and overgrown so a SUV/Sedan might be difficult. Great simple, affordable, easy-going camping for the whole family. I wish I didn't forget the fishing poles!

We had a wonderful trip at the farm. It was a beautiful property with lots of spots to explore, including a secluded trail in the woods. Rebecca was a generous host and had everything set up beautifully, including the nicely decorated outhouses. Our kids loved petting the goats and horse. The evening was quiet and peaceful and we had a beautiful view of the stars. Will definitely be back again!

We had a great weekend camping here. We were the only campers this weekend. Sean was a great host, very easy to communicate with. Site 1 was situated perfectly between the pond and end of the runway with enough room that we could pull our truck and trailer through. We had plenty of open space for our tents, cooking area, hammocks and seating around the campfire with larger trees keeping us shaded on all sides. We initially launched one of our kayaks right from our campsite and ended up keeping them all on the bank when not in use. We did catch 2 small fish on the right side of the pond and had lots of nibbles. The kids had lots of area to explore and chop firewood. We felt comfortable with our dog off-leash. The trail around the pond was well cleared, perfect for a quick walk. The frogs and toads provided lots of background music at night. Thankfully, there weren’t as many bugs as I thought but we had plenty of bug spray on hand anyway. The runway was a pretty cool feature that could be fun for playing fetch, hitting baseballs or golfballs. Really unique experience seeing Sean fly his Ultralight. Definitely a fun and memorable camping getaway!

We had such a lovely and memorable stay at Ancient Spring Farm! We really enjoyed the forage tour, learning about edible and non-edible plants was fascinating! And the animal tour with all the bay goats was a great bonus! Rebecca is such a lovely human, warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable! We had breakfast under the pecan trees with fresh eggs and vegetables from her farm, and even brought some eggs home with us! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, immersive farm experience. We felt truly welcomed and connected to the land.

My wife and I were looking for a weekend getaway and we couldn't have found a better place. Sean is an amazing host and the property is a perfect retreat. The well maintained trails are perfect for exploring and an afternoon float on the lake was just what the doctor ordered! We are already planning our next visit with the kids!
