Weekend Trip to The Confluence

Beautiful piece of property right on the Mills River. Had a great time camping myself, and even with other campers in the other spots was still very secluded. Short walk to River access or the outhouse (which was way cleaner than I expected). Saw a few groundhogs and swam in the River. In my spot there wasn’t too much to come by for hammock setup, but there is plenty around. Phil even came by and checked on me in the evening. Had a great time and I will be back.

It was wonderful being able to Hammock camp there. The horses were very nice to see in the evenings! The fireflies were also very cool!

Weekend Trip to Raven Ridge

My stay at Raven Ridge was just what I needed. It was quiet, scenic, and charming.

1 night at At the Ridge Camp-Riverside Escapes

Super sweet and helpful staff! Bed was comfortable, river outside the cabin was absolutely beautiful. The cabin as clean and adorable. So many things to do nearby! Reception isn’t great but there’s a community center right up the road not even half a mile with open network that works great and they do have a WiFi spot on the campground as well. The cell service was not even close to a deal breaker this place felt like a home away from home! We absolutely loved it!

2 nights at Critter Camp

We had a great time staying here in our van. The horses and donkey were sweet. The lynx was super cool. Kimber was very kind and graciously helped us out of some mud we got stuck in. We also had a great time getting to know her and some other campers around a fire. This is a very country set up - everything works but it's the opposite of fancy so be prepared for practical.

3 nights at Holly View Farm

This is an older campground that doesn't seem to have a lot of customers these days, but it's still a nice place to settle down for a little while. We had the place mostly to ourselves, and enjoyed sitting outside and watching the fireflies in the trees. The campground is an open, grassy field that is part of a cute family farm along a small road that doesn't see a lot of traffic. There are nine sites, not crowded at all, but with no trees or anything between the sites. The water and 30 amp electric were reliable. Tracie, the hostess, and her daughter were good friendly hosts that checked on us daily. The bathhouse is very old and doesn't seem to have been updated in a very long time, but it was clean when we arrived and there was a flushing toilet, a shower and plenty of hot water. There's only one spot each for men and ladies. We did not have cellular voice nor data service in the campground but with the open skies, the Starlink worked great. There was one older camper at the top end of the campground that appeared to be occupied by people that lived in that site. Another small camper was parked in another site that was overgrown with weeds; no one was at that site while we were there and I wondered if the camper was derelict. These two didn't directly affect us at all, but it did give a sense that the campground had seen happier times. Overall, not a bad place, basic hookups and close to town.

Amazing site! Would be great for a large group of people but just 2 of us and the dogs enjoyed it as well. The pavilions were nice when it rained in the evenings! We will be back

Great host on a beautiful creek. The road is a little close but the ambiance and friendliness more than outweighs that. Clean sites and beautiful bathroom.

I loved camping at Harmony Hollow. It's such a nice place. The hosts are amazing and will help you with anything you need. I'll definitely be coming back in the near future.

My favorite part was sitting by the campfire listening to the babbling creek and watching the fireflies. This is a beautiful place to camp. It was nice to have the washing station and the shower. There are several nice touches - a basket of travel size toiletries, cute signs, twinkle lights.

Harmony Hollow is a nice pleasant camp very close to Sevierville and Pigeon Forge. The shower was also nice after a few days without one while overlanding.

1 night at 3feather Sanctuary

We loved the peaceful escape of 3feather sanctuary. Amazing curvy mountain roads to get there, close enough to nearby towns, great spot to enjoy nature! Love the friendly-ness of the owners, welcoming vibe of the property and all of the nice amenities. The Fireside spot was a little hard to park our truck and camper in, on a steep hill and had to back out, I think I would prefer a different spot at 3feather with the camper next time. Would recommend!

Weekend Trip to Nantahala: Cabins & Campsites

Our family of 5 (two kids under 5, two adults and a dog) enjoyed our adventure on the property. We booked alongside our siblings and their family of 5. Between our large tent, gear and other family, we took up the entire space. The fire pits and tables were very helpful. We did a little research prior to our stay but could have done a better job mapping out directions to attractions before loosing cell service. Luckily, we took screen shots of the instructions from Michael which really helped. We spent our free time exploring the property, venturing to the NOC for a day and exploring the areas around the marina. The weather started out cool but warmed up as the weekend progressed. We had two nights of rain but dry weather during the day. We used our all wheel drive to get all the way to the site and it worked great.

Weekend Trip to Mountain Paradise

Beautiful spot with stunning views! It was pretty quiet even on a holiday weekend and we had a great time. Really enjoyed listening to the sounds of the mountain and valley. Will definitely return in the future!

Weekend Trip to Sky High Ridge RV Campground

Peter was super sweet and accommodating. He is very professional and helpful. Our pups loved running around site #1. It was nice and secluded from the other sites and had a lot of space for them to play. If we ever come thru this area again we would happily stay here again.

4 nights at 3feather Sanctuary

A beautiful property with various campsites spread throughout. We loved the creek, and walking around the property with our pups. In our 31ft Class C with a car tow, there were a few spots on the mountain road that were dicey, but overall we were able to make it to and from the property safely. Would definitely stay again!

5 nights at Critter Camp

We had a uniquely great experience camping on Kimber's land. Our travel trailer rolled into the fenced in area adjacent to a sheltered picnic area and fire pit. The dog loved being off leash! Kimber (Corky) was a fantastic host in every way. My wife had a memorable experience hanging out with Muzzle the lynx. The two horses and donkey were friendly and seemed to enjoy having us around. I won't claim this is a site for everyone. It's a little rough around the edges. But, if you appreciate authentic character, you can't beat the Critter Camp.

Nice stay. Being next to the creek is really nice. Didn't feel too crowded by neighbors, but they were pretty close. Mountain views were great. Would stay again.

This home was built in 2019 by an expert craftsman with the vision of making it cozy and spacious with sweet artistic details and lots of care and love. The home is 300 sq feet but feels much more grand inside. You will be nestled on 14 pristine acres of forest, with two decks, your own personal private hot tub, and a spring fed creek not too far down the driveway. There is a gas fireplace outdoors on the porch, and an outdoor fire pit for your use as well. The house has a queen size bed in the upper loft, a large twin day bed on the first level, and an extra loft with camping mats if needed above the day bed. The house can comfortably sleep 3 and up to 4 or 5 especially if a couple of them are children or petite people. The house has a full kitchen and bathroom, living room area and two lofts. For now there is a composting toilet that is easy to maintain and we are happy to help you with it if you’re on the land for more than a few days. The main house is about 30 yards up the hill, and although somewhat close, you will have plenty of privacy. We are close if you need us, but we try to give all of our guests ultimate privacy. The house is under a huge magnolia tree, so it stays shaded in the summer and quite cool. There is an AC unit and heaters in the house as well. There is a personal hot tub, which is screened in, and located on the front deck of the house now. You will love it! There is a back deck that is only for meditation, yoga, and bird watching, and we ask that folks stay silent on the back deck if they use it. Pets are welcome at an extra charge of $40 a night. If anything is needed down at the house we are available. Much of the time there is a massage therapist on site, so if you are interested in getting Bodywork please just inquire about prices and availability. There is also a wood-fired sauna on the property, so if you would like to sauna please let us know. And an added bonus is that you are only 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and LOTS of great hiking, great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, art galleries and more. Asheville is 15 minutes from the tiny cabin and Weaverville is 10 minutes away. On any given day you might see a family a deer, turkeys or bears in the front yard. There is a spring fed creek on the edge of the property you are welcome to soak your feet in, and there is incredible hiking just a few miles away. You are welcome to explore the 13 acres of property as well that the home is located on. This is not a place for parties. Our neighbors are about 200 yards down the hill so we try to respect their privacy and keep it quiet. That is why we have made the back deck a retreat/silent deck. Maximum of 4 guests.

Beautiful location with a view of Table Rock located in the Historic Oolenoy Valley. Our property is located in Northern Pickens Co. of South Carolina. Plenty of trails, boating, biking in the area or just sit under your awning and enjoy the wildlife. Important please read! There is not evening shade in July and August, However, there are shady spots very close to the camp site that you can enjoy. Where your camper sits the Sun goes down at the front of the camper. It is typically not an issue until mid-July and August. If you need additional details, please contact me. There are two homes near the camp site. The one behind the site is our home. Just me and my wife, currently no pets. The other home is a small white farmhouse that I currently rent to close friends. Chris and his wife and two well behaved kids. The kind of neighbors' people dream of! In five years of renting this site I have only had one couple that felt uncomfortable with the homes on our driveway. Our home was built in 1904 and we have been lovingly restoring it since 2020. The camping field is a large space behind the main house that we do not use except as a garden space. It has a small labyrinth, fire pit, and picnic table. We do have neighbors nearby and the field is pretty open as landscaping is in progress. That being said, it is a quiet community! There is a lovely view of the surrounding hills and the night sky and summer fireflies are amazing! We are part of the Big Ivy Community and 13 miles north of Asheville. Hiking, biking, rafting, rafting, ziplining and more are all nearby. We are easily accessible to all things WNC including groceries, dining, gas and main roads. We do have 2 dogs that may roam from time to time though we will try to keep them away from the field during your stay. We are happy to answer any questions and will offer as much privacy as possible…but the garden may need to be tended to!

Hilltop was a joint project that James built in 2012 with a talented woodworker and friend in 6 months of saturdays for less than $5k. We have maintained the original vibe of the place, rustic simplicity and elegance a notch or two above glamping, well-described by the zen koan, "chop wood, carry water" Orchard House was built entirely by James from the block up to the roof, averaging 1 hour/day for 3 years or 1,000 hours. Campsites are adjacent to the French Broad River. Excellent fishing and boating. It is heavily populated by deer and other wildlife. For this reason, dogs must be kept on a leash. Please note that due to the campground being in low-lying land, the drive in is subject to being slick and muddy, 4WD is always recommended. Message us with any questions. Due to the property proximity to the river and situated in floodway, the sites are subject to flooding during heavy rain events. Voluntary and/or mandatory evacuation may be necessary during any reservation due to high waters or forecast for high water events. If evacuation is necessary, unused portions of reservation will be refunded. Campers are advised to be self-sufficient with water and shower facilities. We do provide a port a potty and firewood is for sale on site (Venmo, PayPal or cash). IF YOU ARE CAMPING WITH A RV OR TRAILER, PLEASE CONTACT US TO DISCUSS A SITE. There is wildlife in the area so be sure food and trash are inside your RV or vehicle. Do not leave food or trash out as that will attract wildlife. Trash should be deposited in the garbage cans in the metal cage by the barrier gate. SO OBVIOUSLY - AS ALWAYS/EVERYWHERE -- DO NOT FEED WILDLIFE; AS THAT CAN ENDANGER YOU AND FUTURE CAMPERS. These are wild animals even if they are within the city limits of Pigeon Forge.

Very relaxing spot to decompress and unplug on 7 acres that are mostly wooded. Pisgah National Forest is just two miles away with plenty of hiking to explore. The charming town of Burnsville is just 10 miles on a beautiful, scenic highway. Homeplace Brewery, Birdfoot Taproom, and Snapdragon are among the local spots to visit. Asheville is also nearby at just under an hour’s drive. The trail entrance to Big Butt is a couple miles away with a few great overlook points. If you want to do the whole 24 mile length of the trail (featuring 5 mountain peaks above 6,000ft), I can make shuttle arrangements for your party to be picked up at the end. Navitat Ziplining is very close, as well as gorgeous flower farms and Mountain Light Sanctuary to visit over in Barnardsville. Come enjoy our mountain community!

Cherryfield Luxury Group Camping exceeded our expectations. The shelters and grounds were prestine and the covered platforms were definately the way to go car camping. Our tents stayed neat and the covered shelter kept us dry and cozy as we watched the rain on our second night without a fly on our tent.This campsite has thought of everything. There are grills an firepits beside each platform (each platform is large enough for 3 four person tents) and there are two common shelters with electricity and GORGEOUS bathrooms. It is funny to say, but the bathrooms were nicer than many hotels we've stayed at... large tiled shower with digital temperature controls, excellent water pressure from the large rain shower head, and, as a bonus, surround shower heads for that extra special something. I have never been excited by a shower or bathroom at a campground, but I made sure to shower before leaving because the experience was so zen. There is ample lawn space to play games, set up additional tents, and spread out for privacy, even during larger group gatherings. There are grills and grill tops by each fire pit making campfire or grill cooking easy, but delicious local restaurants just 10 minutes away also offer catering style menus that makie car camping and group gatherings even easier (the local BBQ and Italian were terrific). The grounds are meticulously kept and there are sturdy bear boxes to protect food and trash to help keep unwanted visitors from troubling guests. While we enjoyed some activities away from Cherryfied, we could have easily spent the entire weekend at the campsite. Not only are the grounds spectacular, but there is an easy walking trail to a lovely moss covered waterfall just steps away from the campgroud. The sound of the waterfall can be heard from the campground. It added ambient atmosphere and lulled us to sleep each night. The hosts were terrific and offered many suggestions for take out meals and activities. My only criticism is that the weekend went by too quickly. I did not realize how much my family needed an escape of this sort until we got the Cherryfield. I recomment Cherryfield without reservation. Take good care of this special place. We cannot wait to return.
