Slice of heaven! Quiet and beautiful views. Owners were caring and friendly. The sites were so well thought out. I appreciated all the detail that went into making this property a unique and beautiful place to stay. Just look around and you can see how much time and money was spent. The site itself is level, trash can available, firewood available, clean beautiful rock to park on, beautiful wood chairs on red stone, open property for the dog to run, enchanting pine tree forest and full hookup. Be prepared for a decent amount of wind because you are on a mountain.

Pat gave us an incredible welcome to the property and it was quickly clear this would be an amazing stay. I mean, I saw a peacock and baby buffalo in 10 minutes of our arrival! We came for a local soccer tournament in Johnson City and a couple of our teammates camped out too. Thank you for everything Pat and I hope we'll be back! -Matthew

We stopped by on our way home to Maine in late March .We had a lovely spot up at the top of a field with a fantastic view. There is a nicely mowed path that follows a fence line , which makes for a nice morning walk. There are all kinds of fun things to look at down by the pond including a surprise in the “ old out house “ The date bars that the host gave us were very much appreciated not to mention delicious ! There is a bit of road noise but I suspect once the leaves are on the trees this will be cut down. A very lovely spot to visit.

We had a wonderful weekend camping at campsite 6! It was nicely tucked away giving us plenty of space and privacy. The property and the area is beautiful. Pat and Johnny were amazing hosts, friendly and welcoming. My partner loves Buffalo and getting to feed their Buffalo, Sammy, was a real treat. We hope to come back this summer. Absolutely recommend!

2 nights at Private Yurt with Woodstove & Creek

I had a fantastic time camping in the yurt! It was spacious with two comfortable cots, and the wood heater added a cozy, authentic touch to the experience. The location was easy to find and access, making it hassle-free to settle in. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained, which was a nice bonus. I loved the little creek in front of the yurt—it was so peaceful hearing the water all day. The shed with EcoFlow generators was a thoughtful touch, providing a small charger for the yurt. Being completely unplugged with no service was refreshing! My dog had a blast, too. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing and immersive camping experience!

Beautiful remote area. It was cold but we were able to stay cozy by the fire. Lots of places close enough by in case you forgot to pack something. Will definitely return & recommend to friends & family!!

Such a peaceful and beautiful area to stop over and stay the night. I enjoyed nature and the walk around the pasture. Also, upon waking it was fun to watch the buffalo run and play. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

We recently had the pleasure of staying in a beautiful yurt hosted by Farmer Sprout, and it was an experience our family will not soon forget. The yurt was everything we hoped for—charming, clean, and incredibly comfortable. It offered a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern amenities, making it an ideal getaway for our family. Farmer Sprout was a standout host—responsive, welcoming, and truly professional. From the moment we booked, communication was seamless, and any questions we had were answered quickly. Upon arrival, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, making us feel right at home. The surrounding property was equally wonderful, with plenty of space for our family to relax and explore. Our kids enjoyed the open space, and we loved how quiet and peaceful the area was. The entire stay was seamless, and we felt well taken care of throughout. We left with full hearts and already have plans to return. It’s rare to find such a combination of beauty, comfort, and exceptional hospitality, but Farmer Sprout delivered on all fronts. Highly recommend this yurt stay for anyone looking to escape into nature without sacrificing comfort.

My stay there was magical. The hosts were warm, kind, and friendly. The cabin was wonderful. In the morning there were Peacocks peaking in the glass doors, and tons of birds at the feeders just outside the door! Fed a bull bison and visited with the goats. I hope I can get back there!

Super cute spot! The host was super responsive. It rained a lot but I stayed dry inside the yurt. I suppose I should have expected it but the cots are, well cots, not beds. I’m glad I threw my sleeping mat in at the last minute. I slept comfy and cozy on a wet cold night.

Learn more about this land:You’ll cross the covered bridge (clearance 11’6” ) as you enter our farm, a 73 acre small family farm, nestled in the Buffalo Valley of Northeast TN, and featuring a down home country atmosphere. What makes our farm special are all of the unique extras: a working log cabin blacksmith shop, log cabin art gallery, certified commercial kitchen, lots of watchable wildlife, and walking trails. We have a one acre wildlife pond and a smaller pond fed by springs and Buffalo Creek, which runs through the farm. Greener Acres minutes from Roan Mountain State Park and the Appalachian Trail. Use Greener Acres campsite as your jumping-off point for fun nearby activities or relax on our 40 acre mountainside property and watch for meteor showers in the clear night sky! Within 5 minutes, you can be at Roan Mountain State Park or drive 5-10 minutes to hike the Appalachian Trail. Head up to Carvers Gap just below Roan Mountain High Knob where you can hop out and enjoy a short walk to a scenic view of both the TN and NC mountains or visit the famous Rhododendron Gardens in season. Campsite also boasts energizing, private hike up to Heaton Ridge. Want to spend the day kayaking or canoeing? Head to Wilbur Lake, about a 30 minute drive away from our campsite. Exploring Laura Falls is only a 20 minute drive away. Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Mountain in N.C. are about 30-45 minutes away. The Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, and Dollywood are about a 2 hour drive through amazing mountain views. The annual Rhododendron Festival takes place minutes away. Supplies can be found at the state park camp store or in town at Redi-Mart or Dollar General. Water and showers are down by barn. A Gator is available for the duration of your stay. Please arrive before sundown so we can meet you the first time you stay to show you the way and make sure you are comfortable driving Gator. We will have you follow us up to the campsite and from there you can come and go and just leave the Gator by your car near the barn when you are out and about and when checking out. A small Bluetti power charging station will be available in the tent (for light charging of cell phones, other) which can be recharged by the barn if used heavily. A Coleman stove with a small propane tank, pots, a frying pan and utensils is also included in the site. Another small propane tank is provided for the radiator in the tent.

Mila’s Bunny Farm

Nice secluded tent campsite on an angora bunny farm. Listen to the sound of the mountain creek while you sleep, and cuddle with bunnies by the running water wheel during the day. Very relaxing spot to decompress and unplug on 7 acres that are mostly wooded. Pisgah National Forest is just two miles away with plenty of hiking to explore. The charming town of Burnsville is just 10 miles on a beautiful, scenic highway. Homeplace Brewery, Birdfoot Taproom, and Snapdragon are among the local spots to visit. Asheville is also nearby at just under an hour’s drive. The trail entrance to Big Butt is a couple miles away with a few great overlook points. If you want to do the whole 24 mile length of the trail (featuring 5 mountain peaks above 6,000ft), I can make shuttle arrangements for your party to be picked up at the end.
