If you’re having a really great time and the kids just don’t want to leave, join us for an evening of sleeping under the stars in the forest at one of our campsites. We also host local Scout Groups, and Appellation Trail hikers. Hikers know that we are located about 1 miles south of the route 9 trail crossing at the Appalachian Market and offer pick up and drop off service from there on weekends. Hudson Valley is a wonderful 4 season go to location and being about an hour away from New York City you won’t spend hours in the car before being able to stretch your legs.

My son and I really enjoyed camping on Mike's property. It was tucked away and quiet. Mike was very supportive and kept the firewood coming for the cold temperatures. The entrance comes up quickly, but Mike's directions were spot on.
The hiking near the property was fantastic. Try Anthony's Nose; the hike was challenging, but the views were worth it.

Phoenix Landing is the optimal camping spot for my partner and I (and cat). Though it was just the two of us, we had no issues with the camp site and felt very safe in the area. We decided to camp out there while enjoying Halloween festivities along the Hudson. The forest/stream, on the property is beautiful and there are many trails to explore. We brought our cat who loves walking outdoors on a harness & leash - we stayed very vigilant with her, but thankfully the most we encountered was a buck during our trip (1st week of Nov.).
Mike's directions are very thorough and clear - DEFINITELY read his instructions for finding the property at first. He also provides a lot of supplies if needed, especially firewood for a small cost. Communication with him was also very pleasant and easy. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it by 1 more day 😊. Overall, we look forward to staying at Phoenix Landing again in the near future.
NOTE: Needing a 4x4/ AWD vehicle is absolutely necessary to climb the property if choosing not to walk. We arrived in absolute pouring rain and thankfully our Land Cruiser had no issue. The climb / descent is definitely very fun, but if you have no experience with off-roading, it may be a bit difficult. Take it slow. Cheers!

Beautiful spot, secluded and very well equipped. Only would recommend more signage and lighting at the driveway entrance, it was a bit difficult to find at night. Other than that fully recommend.

I loved this place!! Mike was very helpful. Always responded very quickly. The location is near some pretty great hikes. The campsite is on a bit of a slant, but we had three tents and were able to find good spots with little to no issue. I definitely plan on going back. I had a really good time!

The site was perfect for a weekend with friends! Two large picnic tables and large fire pit with multiple grates for easy cooking. And the platform for the tents was great for the night it poured, we stayed dry all night. Mike was a great host, showed us around and made sure we had plenty of shower water and firewood. Would definitely stay again!

Great campsite, primitive but has everything you need. We discovered some hiking trails nearby plus there was a stream to splash in. Make sure your car has 4WD and high clearance if you are staying at Phoenix Landing. Also be mindful of how much water is in the primitive shower and how charged the pump battery is so you don't run out.

One of the best spots I have ever been to. The site was very spacious and the site was so comfortable for the family. The trails nearby are amazing. Mike (the owner) is very kind and super helpful when it comes to knowledge of the land and supplies for camping. I would highly recommend staying at this site with a running stream on the campsite. Definitely plan on coming back again !

We had a great time camping Saturday night on Mike’s land. He’s very helpful and fast to communicate, and it’s clear a lot of love is put into the property. We swam, enjoyed a camp fire and fresh air after the rains. Our dog was very happy. Would recommend.

Mike was super nice and responded quickly.
He allowed me to stay for a night last minute.
There was a picnic table and firepit. There was also wood for sale down the road outside the barn.
I cooked a wonderful meal in the firepit and had a gorgeous sleep in my tent on a cot.
There is a slope to carry your items up but its not too difficult.
You can hear cars on the highway the entire time but I live in Brooklyn NY so that didn’t bother me at all.
I would 100% stay here again and hopefully bring my family along as they don’t live far from the property.

Mike's property was great! We booked Phoenix Landing, and very comfortably could fit 7 tents in the area. There are 3 fire pits to use. It's private and naturey while still being easy to access. Would recommend!

The site is up a steep woods road and requires 4 wheel drive with high ground clearance. Once you get to the top it levels out and there is a spacious tenting area with a platform and room for many tents. There are a lot of trees, so if you are a hammock camper this is great. There are two picnic tables, a privy, cold shower, and a dish washing area. The camping area is quite a long way up the hill from the main house, so you have complete privacy.

I would 100% recommend camping on Mikes land. Mike is friendly, helpful, and very responsive. From the moment we got there we felt that he was as invested in our experience as we were. He even lent us his fishing hooks, said we could use his swimming hole, shared his wild mushrooms, and lent us his mini wagons to help us carry stuff up the hill. the site is beautiful and very private. You do here the cars from the road. We didn't mind, but if it would bother you, then you should probably book Mikes other camp site thats farther up. Very close to local hikes and fishing opportunities. Had the best time! we will be back!

We had an amazing time at Mike’s camp, even when it rained one night! There was plenty of firewood available, and the space was vast enough to accommodate a large group. We were upgraded to Phoenix Landing, which is more secluded and away from road noise—definitely a great spot for a peaceful getaway.
We visited at the end of winter and could already tell that the area would be lush and beautiful in the summer. There’s a nice walking path on the property, perfect for a leisurely stroll. While there is a bathroom and shower on-site, we didn’t use them since we were only there for two nights and brought our own setup.
The campsite was clean and well-maintained, and the land at Phoenix Landing was leveled, making our tent setup super even and comfortable for sleeping. There’s also a platform available, but we opted for a more primitive camping experience.
We met Mike at the mushroom factory, and he was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and polite. Checking in and out was a breeze, and whenever we needed to communicate, he was always available and responsive.
Overall, we had an awesome experience and would highly recommend this spot!
