Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool. Our location is convenient to the Berkshire Mountains, state parks, hiking and other attractions, including Ramble Wild tree to tree adventures and Jiminy Peak. There are a few miles of rail trail access just down the road.

Rinse off under the private a-frame shower with warm water and use the NEWLY installed Porta-Potty. This porta-potty is emptied weekly and sanitized before each guest. You won’t have to dig holes but you are camping after all!! Cook a meal on a propane grill. You are welcomed to bring aluminum trays! Charge your phones or laptops should you need to do a little work under the canopy of the trees! (Yes! There is an outlet for small devices!!!) Plenty of longer trails are easily accessible just a short drive away! If something a little bit further from nature tickles your fancy, jump in your car for a quick ride to Uptown Kingston or Saugerties where you’ll find plenty of great restaurants and shops to visit during your stay. Either way, you're sure to enjoy! End your day with a nice fire under the stars! You have two comfy Adirondack chairs and an enclosed fire pit for your use!! Be sure to bring enough wood as you’ll want to linger around the fire just a little while longer!! During the cooler months, enjoy a small heater that will warm up the tent to a toasty temperature perfect for sleeping! This is the perfect site for fishing, swimming, creek walking, fossil hunting, mountain views, star gazing, and just relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. We are close to award-winning breweries, wineries, historic sites, farmers markets, restaurants, and shopping. We have several accessible hiking trails with great views nearby. We can't wait to welcome you to our private slice of heaven. There are 21 acres for you to discover with 10 acres in front, and 11 acres of woods with a meandering creek as the border. You can think of this land as your land for the duration of your stay. Respect the land and tent as you would your own. Squish your toes into the earth and breathe in the wild thyme-filled grassy trails. Go for a walk in the woods. Take a deep breath. Relax and recharge! The pebble beach at the pond allows for a gradual entry and goes to 16 feet deep in the middle. Feel free to swim on out to the floating dock. We love jumping in. There are many fish in the pond, most of them are large mouth bass. You may use our canoe, but please wear a life jacket if you are not a confident swimmer. (*Swimming is at your own risk!) The ‘Fossil Creek Trail’ leads down through the woods from the pond area to the slate bed creek. (*Please watch your footing on the trail- some is quite uneven.) There are many amazing fossils to find if you look in the creek bed during the dryer season. The woods are cooler and bug free, perfect for sitting and relaxing with a book or picnic. There are several mowed trails that wind around the pond and then back up to the Tent.

Weekend Trip to Campaway on Cotton Hill
My two buddies and I really enjoyed this place. Beautiful view of the stars at night and nice quiet space for us for the weekend. The tent was big enough for three of us and we enjoyed plenty of the amenities (firewood, water, kitchen, smores). We also heard plenty of wildlife - owls, coyotes.. made for a fun experience. Plenty of great hiking nearby. It's a small walk from the parking area but they have a wagon that you can use to help bring your stuff.

We had such an amazing time camping on Heidi’s beautiful wildflower covered hill. The spot had a gorgeous view that’s perfect for stargazing and watching epic sunsets. The tent was cozy and clean. We had everything we needed for a perfect stay, including fresh cut flowers and s’mores supplies. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this spot.

We had a lovely stay at the cabin glamp. Gorgeous location, very quiet and peaceful. Tom was responsive and very nice when we were checking in & got firewood from him. So glad we booked a night here. Just to note that the bottom zipper for the tent doesn’t fully close, so if you are worried about mosquitoes/bugs getting in they definitely can. We didn’t have too much of a problem with it because the temperature dropped enough at night.

I would only recommend "maybe" as most of my friends are not as adventurous staying at a working farm. Working is the right way to say it so no fancy paths or high end stuff. Just a very cool relaxing way to spend time around a real farm scene. Hosts were MOST helpful and nice and the tent was huge. Beds super comfy, clean and the fridge came in handy too. Donkey and two horsed milling about was nice. I'd say the solar shower is a bit crude but I've been told it's to be upgraded. The whole area is wonderful. So yeah, you want to chill simply? Come here!

Heidi's site was amazing, we had such a nice time. Everything is so well maintained, wild flowers everywhere. The tent is on a small hill so you have the perfect view. The creek and fossil creek trail were so fun to do with our dogs, and very easy to get to. We definitely would love to visit again.

2 nights at Campaway on Cotton Hill
This was such a great site -- the tent is immaculate and much more spacious than expected. The fireflies every night were amazing and made up for the fact that the moon was full so stars weren't the best (we are definitely going back when the moon is new --- I am sure they will be stunning). The pond is PERFECT. It's got a rocky beach with a slow descent into deliciously cool clean water. The dock in the middle of the pond is fun to sunbathe on and practice diving. My 12 year old made us go every morning right after breakfast, then in the afternoon, then in the evening....:). The views of the surrounding tree-covered hills/mountains were spectacular. On the hottest day we drove over to the Secret Caverns (near Howe Caverns) to enjoy the natural air conditioning and spectacular rock formations. This sight was great with just me and my little one, but would be equally enjoyable with a larger group -- there is plenty of space (if a little sloped) for games and the picnic table/kitchen area was very well-equipped. The ice cold water in the bright orange 5gal water jug was a really really nice surprise. Definitely heading back when we can. Thanks so much, Heidi, for a wonderful stay.

Heidi’s property is so beautiful! A perfect place to watch the sunset and cook a great meal over the fire. There’s a pond on the land with a paddle board and a canoe, which were so fun to use. The creek/fossil hike was also great to do with our dog. The hosts provided everything we needed at the campsite (i.e., firewood, kindling, cooking gear, comfy bed, etc) as well as lovely little touches like fresh flowers by the bed. Would visit again!

This is a sweet spot on a hillside. Mountain views are beautiful. Our kids really enjoyed kayaking on the pond and using the stand up paddle board. The tent is really nice, clean and sturdy and we pitched a second tent on site for the kids. Everyone had a great time.

What an incredible glamping experience! From the moment we arrived, we were completely enchanted by this hidden gem! The tent itself was beautifully appointed and very spacious. But stepping outside was where the real magic happened: we were immediately immersed in a stunning wild meadow filled with colorful flowers and tall, swaying grasses, all framed by gorgeous forest. The animal encounters made it even more special. A friendly donkey greeted us upon arrival, and throughout our stay we delighted in watching chickens, ducks, and geese wandering freely around the property and grazing in the fields. The location couldn't have been better for exploration. We used it as our perfect base camp for discovering charming nearby villages and tackling some amazing hiking trails. Our host, Marleen, was warm, welcoming, and gave us the most fantastic local recommendations! If you're a nature lover looking for an authentic escape from the everyday, this is your spot.

My Children & I had such a great time at the Hilltop Glampsite. The tent was well taken care of and everything you need on basic camping equipment was available in the kitchen area. The best part of it all was the pond and the fossil creek, just steps away from the campsite. The owner Heidi and her husband are super nice and down to earth. They were also super quick in responding to any questions we had during our stay. We will be back very soon🏕️

I’ve stayed at both of Alexandra’s hipcamp listings now and they are *chefs kiss* just the perfect marriage of outdoorsy camping and convenience. The weather wasn’t the best while I was there but there was enough cover from the trees that it wasn’t bad. Stayed nice and cozy in the tent. The outdoor shower was a nice touch, especially when the water warmed up. Definitely recommend.
