Learn more about this land: Lush high desert river oasis nestled in a fertile valley in the Carson National Forest right between the fiery expanse of Taos and the rolling colorful formations of Abiquiu. Peaceful and private 3 acres right by the river at the edge of a little quaint town called La Madera (145 people, no shops)- just 6 miles to the healing mineral Hot Springs of Ojo Caliente, a place of emergence or rebirth as known to the local Natives. Right by the river, held by a ridge (that makes for amazing sunset hikes), I have a 16ft Yurt Canvas set up with furnishings (desk, couch, wash stand) and a wooden Queen Bed with down bedding. This site can only be reached by foot across the river via stumps- a car can be parked near by.. approx. 50ft.  I also have a Vintage Camper that can be heated, has a kitchen, electricity and plenty of outdoor furniture with a fire pit and serene mountain views. As well as a monastic and very grounding Ensuite Bedroom, or a simple campsite if you want to bring your own camper or tent. All facilities have access to a guest bathroom inside the main house. I offer dog sitting while you soak at Ojo, healing modalities that you'll find in the Extras section, and my dear neighbor Jackie takes appointments for massages with homemade essential oils. +++ 6 miles to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs. There you will find the best restaurant in the area, with locally/organically farmed produce. The land is naturally and beautifully wild- it is not a manicured campsite. The dirt rd down to the property is best suited for higher clearance vehicles, but is manageable for city cars.  With land by the river comes the mosquitos- June to August only. They are predominantly active during sunrise and sunset; long loose fitting clothes and a repellent work great. Waterhole, Waterfall and climbing sites near by, as well as Plaza Blanca, Abiquiu, Ghost Ranch and the Taos Gorge are 30 mins drive away.  *No cell service in the greater area. The pristine 365° views are spectacular and the sunsets are an enchanting spectacle every evening! My 100% off-grid earthship home is near the Rio Grande River giving access to wonderful hiking and rafting! There is always wildlife to see there such as mountain goats, coyote and elk. There are also natural hot springs to soak in after hiking or any time of day or night. I am also putting up teepees that people can sleep in if they choose to not sleep in their own RV and in the future will be offering art classes in the teepees. This earthship is located near The Greater World Bio-Techture Earthship community. If interested, guests can book tours of the earth ship community and see all the awesome things they are up to over there! The charming town of Taos is nearby offering art galleries, historic museums, live music and delicious ethnic food.If you know who Georgia O’Keeffe is, she and her group of artists spent much time here.Taos also has a ski resort which is another fabulous place to go hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. The hiking trails have small rivers and creeks and wild flowers everywhere adorning the mountain views. In the winter the skiing at Taos Ski Valley resort provides a shuttle to and from the ski area.I also have Cross-Country Ski parties on my property during full moons in the winter months.

16. Casas de Indigo Granaria

24mi from Questa · 1 site · RV
Come stay a while at Casas de Indigo Graneria! We have two neighboring sheltered spaces 20' wide by 24' deep where you can shelter your rig from direct sun and weather. We are located close to all the offerings of the area: to the south is the infamous Rio Grande river where you can have either a mellow float or brave a ride down class III/IV rapids. To the north is Taos Ski Valley, home of world class terrain. In between are epic hikes, numerous galleries and unique shops, delicious food, and culture--Taos truly is a little slice of heaven. Our half-acre space overlooking the Rio Grande del Ranchos offers a more private, scenic and peaceful environment than the typical recreational vehicle parks. Please reach out if you are interested in a long-term stay. We would be glad to find some folks with the right vibe to stay for the winter!
