This was my second time staying here, and it will always be one of my favorite places to stop. Linda is a great communicator & even makes sure to provide curated directions, depending on which way you are coming from. Highly recommend stopping for a night (or two!) The donkeys are also a plus :)

Linda’s Santa Rita land is a beautiful, quiet, rural setting. Friendly horses and donkeys graze nearby and a small, historic irrigation canal lined with cottonwoods and chimesa runs by the sites. Linda was great to work with during my 7-day stay.

So, we had a blast at this quirky little vintage farm just 11 miles outside of Durango, CO, where our campsite was basically the VIP section of the pasture. Picture this: our van was nestled in a cozy corner, fully surrounded by brush, trees, and an irrigation ditch that made us feel like we were on some sort of rustic survival show.
Horses and donkeys became our next-door neighbors—super nosy ones, I might add! We had the entire campsite to ourselves, which made us feel like the kings and queens of our own little compound. We even felt brave enough to leave our camper van wide open at night, just chilling under the protection of our trusty insect netting. Talk about living on the wild side!
But the real midnight party came courtesy of our donkey pals who loved to hang out by the back door during the witching hour, perhaps hoping for some late-night snacks or just an ear rub. By day, we were entertained by the local prairie dog circus, darting around the field like they were training for the Summer Olympics.
And getting to Durango was just a hop, skip, and a jump away! Linda, our host, was a gem—super friendly and accommodating. If you're in the mood for a private, safe spot where "roughing it" means sharing your space with adorable donkeys and feisty prairie dogs, then trust me, this Hip Camp is the place to be!

Great spot just outside of Durango. Comms from the host were excellent. Easy to find. Power hook up was a real plus, and clear sky views for Starlink. There is a house on the other side of the fence but felt private and quiet. Saw wildlife running in the bush. The road coming in is quite convex so if you have low clearance be careful.

Our host Linda was awesome. She had a beautiful piece of property, we had a secluded little place that we park the camper on, there were horses, donkeys, and prairie dogs roaming the property. It was serene and a great getaway for our anniversary. She also brought us information about the local area and had a lot of knowledge about areas that we were wanting to visit and explore. She also had places listed out where we could dump our camper after our stay, since there were no amenities on the property and that was very helpful.

The sky was so dark - the stars, each night, were amazing!!! Linda and Jeff were kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Their property is stunningly, private, beautiful, and provides a wonderful place to hang out and sleep.

Great site close enough to activities of Durango but far enough that you get the mellowness of being in nature. We had deer visit and saw a coyote in the distance which was super cool. Our dogs loved being able to be off leash but make sure you have them under good voice control because there is wildlife. The host was super responsive and communicated well. We didn't need any of the hook ups so stayed in a nice treed area to keep cool when it got warm. Would definitely stay again.

A very peaceful property within 12 minutes of Walmart and 15 minutes of historic downtown Durango. We enjoyed watching the deer and elk wander by in the evenings. We stayed in site 2 in a 35' fifth-wheel with slides on both sides.
Of the 2 sites, site 1 is the longer of the 2 sites and 24' feet wide. It looked pretty level side to side with a little bit of a downhill grade (front to back). There is about 6' between the power pole and the fence, so plenty of room to walk around the backside of your rig.
Site 2 is also 20'+ wide, but shorter due to a steep drop at the front of the site and required a little bit of levelling side-to-side (1 block under the tires).

You will not find a kinder, more helpful host than Linda. She was a wealth of information on the area and provided multiple resources for us to check out the area on our own.
The property is peaceful and lovely. No frills, but all the open skies and quiet time you could ask for.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would reccomend her camp to anyone searching in the area.

If I could give Linda 10 stars, I would! She was extremely responsive, friendly, and helpful. The description is accurate, it was a nice, quiet site with some friendly donkeys and wildlife sightings! I would love to stay again and would definitely recommend.

A quiet space to relax. We had the chance try two spots while staying with Linda and both were wonderful. We loved watching the horses and donkeys in the evenings enjoying the pasture and water. A small deer herd passed by one morning. Linda and her husband are such great hosts. We felt at ease immediately. Highly recommend staying here on your travels or for a break from city as we did. Can't wait to visit again in another season and check out some of what the area has to offer.

My time on linda’s ranch was a great time. I really enjoyed being able to relax and have a beautiful area to stay at Linda is such a welcoming and kind host. I was blown away by how accommodating and fun she was. I sincerely recommend her as a camp host and her campsite, it may not have all the bells and whistles of some of these fancy campgrounds, but it has all of the charm and love of someone who cares about their property and their campers. I stayed for 2 weeks with Linda.

This was such a beautiful & peaceful place. They have a beautiful property! Linda was very accommodating, greeted us when we arrived & such a nice lady! You get to camp amongst the animals also, which was a plus for me. The donkeys & horses were so friendly! Can't wait to come back & visit!
