This pristine camp spot is on our 5th generation cattle ranch and depending on the grazing schedule you may be serenaded by the sound of soothing "moo's" from our cow and calf pairs as you fall to sleep. Along with our cows, there are chickens and horses nearby, as well as multitudes of wildlife. Three couples of Trumpeter Swans call our pond home, as well as ducks, geese, loons, sandhill cranes, and a whole cascade of other bird varieties. Deer, grizzlies, black bear, badgers, elk, foxes, and rabbits also call our ranch home and can usually be spotted nearby. The camp site itself is along our pond. This pond unfortunately does not have any fish, but it is very relaxing to paddle a kayak or canoe in and out of the willow branches that surround it. You will have a quiet, serene and private location, hidden by the canopy of willows that grow along the pond. The views are spectacular and the nearby activities make this a great spot for any outdoor enthusiast!

It's rather large volume of water flows from several groups of canyons and drainages in the Little Belt mountains, bubbling out of the ground six miles up at the foot of the beautiful Vigilante canyon and terminating in the Missouri River three miles further down. Located 10 minutes from the lakes. 5 minutes from a reservoir. 10 minutes from town. 15 min to closest hiking areas. Helena really is the heart of fun very centralized for all directions of fun! Very easy pull in and pull out area. Please not there may be other campers enjoying as well Black Sandy State Park and Helena National Park are both under 15 miles away. Enjoy hiking and If you’re the boating type, head down the Missouri river in search of a rumored rope swing or jump off the boat for a dip in the crystal waters of Hauser Lake. Looking to avoid all the crowds or enjoy a solitary weekend under the endless Montana sky? Just head to Black Sandy during the winter months! Weekend Trip to Mountain Biker's Getaway

Jamie's land was perfect for our last camping trip of the season. The spot is beautiful and so peaceful. It is close enough to downtown to be convenient, yet feels like you are out in the country. Jamie was super helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back next time we are in Helena.

Lovely quiet spot. We had our dog so we took several walks - on the Host's land and along the quiet gravel road. Easy to find a flat spot to park. We had a great chat with the Host, who was quite helpful.

The tent was amazing! It was the perfect mix of wilderness and comfort. I had my 4 yr old daughter and we had a blast. Endless rocks and boulders to climb on and plenty of privacy. We heard an elk bugling on the second the morning as well, creating quite the experience. We also took a quick drive to the Hardware Cafe just a few miles down the road for some comfort food. We will definitely be staying again next year!

An exceptional place to set up camp. The campsite, both tent and A frame, sit in a small valley between two mountain sides. You get excellent views all around, there was no pest bugs like mosquitoes, and there is plenty of opportunity for hiking on the property, though trails are still a work in progress. The bathroom and shower are clean, and Kate and Ben were excellent hosts. No signal, but that can be a bonus depending on how you look at it. Overall, sincerely recommend giving this campsite a stay

Weekend Trip to The Homestead

We wanted to go somewhere, but had to be super close to home. Enter an Elkhorn Mountain adventure, just 20 minutes from our door in Helena, down the highway to Clancy to the Homestead Camp. We love camping ⛺️ and yet I didn’t feel up to all of the work required. And I’m really very extremely tired and wanted to sleep well. I found this gorgeous getaway on Hip-camp and with the hard work done, all I had to do was eat, drink, read, and sleep. And boy, did I sleep! Multiple times a day even! We watched clouds rolls by until the sky darkened and it was the stars’ turn. ✨ We fell asleep to rain drops kissing the canvas and woke to the rattle of thunder of deep in the mountains. ⛰️

Tent camping on this pasture was GORGEOUS. The host was incredibly kind, communicative, and flexible. Our prior site fell through last minute and the host approved us staying within a few moments. Host is very transparent about amenities and GPS navigation. Would stay again!
