Learn more about this land: We are 20 miles east of Missoula, MT near the Kettlehouse Ampitheater in Bonner. Our location is halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. There are mountain bike paths, river access points for paddling, rafting or fishing within minutes of our land. We can even help you know where to go. Our land is surrounded by Nature Conservancy land with a public recreation easement, so you can hike and take your horse for a ride very easily, just let us know and we will point you in the right direction. Our child had a significant medical emergency that required a lot of travel to Seattle Children's and 4 brain surgeries recently, so we are just getting the garden back up and running and the sheep are happy. Unfortunately no chickens this year. In a vehicle, you can pull into one of our pastures for your stay. Where you are depends on which field the sheep are eating! Tents also work in the field. We do not have any hookups, but there is potable water in the blue hydrant by the yellow tube. The fields are that - pasture fields. There are quiet neighbors across the fence who now have goats on one side. We are happy to offer advice about local attractions via messaging. This is pack it in, pack it out.

The outdoor activities are endless. Biking, hiking, fishing, swimming, hunting, trail riding, snow skiing and more are all within reach. Deer, turkey, osprey, killdeer, nighthawks, and eagles frequent the property as well as the occasional elk herd; and the Lee Metcalf wildlife refuge is about 15 minutes away. The property sits about 400’ above the valley floor; giving spectacular panoramic views of the bitterroot valley and mountains, as well as incredible sunsets. The paved road ends about 1 mile before the property, the remaining mile is a gravel road. There is also a one lane bridge right before you get to the property. Firewood is available for use at no charge. Sewer hookup has not been run to the site yet but if you have a portable tank, or want to pull the camper over to the house, it can be dumped as needed beside the garage; just ask and I can show you where the pipe is. Great stop over spot right off the interstate. We rolled in after dark and still found it without issue. Taller vehicles be aware there are some low hanging branches but they are pretty bendy so I pushed through just fine. The entrance to field number 1 was pretty tight for our travel trailer. The car parked next to the garage meant I had to take it slow and watch my mirrors. But for the price, totally worth it.

Nice clean spot for a quick stop over. You can hear the highway traffic but it did bother us. We had the lower meadow to ourselves. A little tight getting through the gate with a car sitting there but actually had plenty of room. Beautiful view out or back window.

Finally, two level sites which made setting up a breeze. Speaking of a breeze, quick walk to the heart of Seeley. We grabbed a burger for an easy dinner and espresso/chai tea in the morning. Light road noise but quiet at night. We will be back!

Rainbow Gulch was an amazing experience! My pup and I loved it. Away from city lights, the sky is breathtaking- and the stars light it up at night! Very clean and well maintained pasture, with a local market only minutes away that has anything you'd need for your stay! Highly recommend staying here. :)

What a beautiful view!! We really enjoyed this spot. It seemed very private and had unbelievable views of the Bitterroot mountains. Don’t let the rough road and questionable bridge deter you. Just take it slow. We made it with our 35 ft fifth wheel and double towing an ATV trailer with no problems. And the pull-through site that James created was perfect for us. We would definitely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Seeley Creek Sites 1&2

We enjoyed camping at Seeley Creek. David has done a great job of setting up 2 RV spots on his property. The electric and water hookups worked well and there is Lindy’s RV dump station about a half mile away. We loved that we could walk into town for ice cream or take a short 1 mile drive to Big Larch Campground (a Forest area) to go to the lake. Morrell Falls Trailhead (a National Recreation Trail) and several other trails are accessed via the road behind David’s property. It doesn’t get any more convenient. Deer frequented the site and we loved sitting and watching them graze. David sent excellent directions for accessing the property and lots of suggestions on restaurants and other important info about the area. The only two possible cons are that the two sites are so close to each other and that the road behind the property can be fairly busy and loud with ATVs and regular vehicles. But it does road quiet down at night. If we are back in the area, we will definitely stay here again.
