**Have friends or family that want to tag along? I have added an extra to allow for extra campers at the same site. See the extras section for details.**    Resting in the foothills of the sapphire mountains, just outside the town of Stevensville Montana, this beautiful 20 acre property is conveniently located halfway between Hamilton and Missoula; it is also a good midway point between Yellowstone and Glacier national parks. The outdoor activities are endless. Biking, hiking, fishing, swimming, hunting, trail riding, snow skiing and more are all within reach. Deer, turkey, osprey, killdeer, nighthawks, and eagles frequent the property as well as the occasional elk herd; and the Lee Metcalf wildlife refuge is about 15 minutes away.    The property sits about 400’ above the valley floor; giving spectacular panoramic views of the bitterroot valley and mountains, as well as incredible sunsets.    The paved road ends about 1 mile before the property, the remaining mile is a gravel road. There is also a one lane bridge right before you get to the property. Firewood is available for use at no charge.  Sewer hookup has not been run to the site yet but if you have a portable tank, or want to pull the camper over to the house, it can be dumped as needed beside the garage; just ask and I can show you where the pipe is.  There is a nema 14-50 hookup providing 50 amp power at the site; if needed I do have a 50 to 30 amp adapter you can borrow during your stay.  Water hookup is also available at the site, but may be limited in freezing weather.  If temperatures are to cold we can turn on the water to fill your tank as needed and then blow the line back out.  If you need to borrow a potable water hose let me know as i keep those in the garage unless needed.  There is a non-potable water hose that is available at the site, with a spray nozzle, incase you need to rinse or wash off gear, vehicles, etc.   SpaceX Starlink high speed internet is available via WiFi. You can also charge your electric vehicle, if needed, with the power at the campsite or I have another nema 14-50 plug available at the garage of the main house. Be sure to let me know if you will need the plug at the garage so I can make sure it is accessible.  If you have other questions feel free to contact me and I will do my best to answer them. ****The first 10 photos were posted by me and are taken from the actual hipcamp spot. Small irrigated ranch in the Deer Lodge Valley, surrounded by mountains, access to public lands and beautiful scenery. East side of acreage has the Clark Fork River running through it, even though the neighbors are close still lots of privacy. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent or park your RV on a very basic flat field with 360 views all around, (note my River camp site and access to the River is closed due to state reclaimation and cleanup of the River). Site is 7 miles from Deer Lodge, MT. Small fire pit, not great but available for guests unless fireban is on during dry conditions short drive to several acres of public ground, ATV access, hiking, and mountain biking and fishing This is an 80-acre working ranch with cows, irrigation and hay so you may have to drive through the cows and there will be cowpies :-). Great cell service and private property on both sides, easy access to campsite. 10-minute drive to historic Grant Kohrs Ranch, old prison museum and many other unique Montana experiences.

What a great hipcamp spot. Stayed there twice on a cross country trip. Larry is a friendly, warm and welcoming host. Great quiet spot surrounded by foothills and pretty views. On the return trip, his young daughter walked over, introduced herself and we had a great chat. When she left, she handed us a wonderful gift, a bag of Huckleberry taffy! Will definitely visit again!

What a beautiful view!! We really enjoyed this spot. It seemed very private and had unbelievable views of the Bitterroot mountains. Don’t let the rough road and questionable bridge deter you. Just take it slow. We made it with our 35 ft fifth wheel and double towing an ATV trailer with no problems. And the pull-through site that James created was perfect for us. We would definitely stay here again.

Private, close to great fly fishing and Missoula. The meadow was super peaceful and the spot was nice. Our dogs loved being able to roam free around the area. Larry was very nice and gave good recommendations on things to do in the area and where to fish. We would definitely come back and stay here again.

He went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of and even gave me a call in the evening to let me know of an approaching storm (in case we were inside and would miss out on the lightning show). It was easy to find, enjoyed the privacy and trees on the site. We were close to the kettlehouse amphitheater which was great. It was 95 out and they were helpful, suggesting a little swimming hole close to their property.

This spot was ideal for taking a break from our drive. It was very convenient to get there from I-90. The camping spot was easy to access towing our 27 ft. Airstream as were the hook ups. The location is on a big plot of land partway up a hill the view was of a meadow and hills in the distance. Larry was helpful and available for questions. And to cap it off, we were greeted by a friendly young girl with huckleberry taffy.

Amazing site and host! We stayed two days/nights and Larry was the most wonderful host - he went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable with so many suggestions for sites to see that weren’t in any brochures. Tons and tons of room for dogs to roam off-leash - just absolutely beautiful!! Would (and definitely will) stay again!!
