The Holmestead is a rustic dry cabin on 5 acres nestled between Mill Creek and a seasonal run off stream with easy access to the highway and only a 10 min drive to Missoula. A queen bed, futon and air mattress are available for sleeping! Family and pet friendly property with plenty of space to pitch a tent next to the cabin if you have more guests in your party (tents will be an additional fee, $10 per person in addition to the 4 person cabin max). Excellent cell service if you have Verizon or carriers that pull from those towers. Attractions: Walking distance to forestry service roads. 15 minutes to the Missoula Airport and an additional 10 minutes to the heart of Missoula and all it has to offer. If you are looking for more adventure there is always an endless amount of recreation near, whether you want to drive 5 minutes to mountain bike or 3 hours to Glacier National Park, there is something for everyone! If you have questions about fun things to do please reach out to us! Parking: Reserved parking for guests in the main driveway or in the clearing near the cabin. Water: Portable toilet onsite, sealson warm shower and sink also available, we recently upgraded to a JOOLCA hot water system so guests can have running water and a warm outdoor shower. We provide 5 gal of potable water in the colder months and have running water nearby for easy refill of water containers if needed in the warmer months. We look forward to sharing our piece of Montana with you! Pets allowed. We do have 2 very frienly dogs that roam the property freely, if you pet is reactive please let us know so we can monitor our dogs when letting them outside to do their business. The Holmestead is a rustic dry cabin on 5 acres nestled between Mill Creek and a seasonal run off stream with easy access to the highway and only a 10 min drive to Missoula. A queen bed, futon and air mattress are available for sleeping! Family and pet friendly property with plenty of space to pitch a tent next to the cabin if you have more guests in your party (tents will be an additional fee, $10 per person in addition to the 4 person cabin max). Excellent cell service if you have Verizon or carriers that pull from those towers. Attractions: Walking distance to forestry service roads. 15 minutes to the Missoula Airport and an additional 10 minutes to the heart of Missoula and all it has to offer. If you are looking for more adventure there is always an endless amount of recreation near, whether you want to drive 5 minutes to mountain bike or 3 hours to Glacier National Park, there is something for everyone! If you have questions about fun things to do please reach out to us! Parking: Reserved parking for guests in the main driveway or in the clearing near the cabin. Water: Portable toilet onsite, sealson warm shower and sink also available, we recently upgraded to a JOOLCA hot water system so guests can have running water and a warm outdoor shower. We provide 5 gal of potable water in the colder months and have running water nearby for easy refill of water containers if needed in the warmer months. We look forward to sharing our piece of Montana with you! Pets allowed. We do have 2 very frienly dogs that roam the property freely, if you pet is reactive please let us know so we can monitor our dogs when letting them outside to do their business. This site was beautiful! Lynda was so kind and helpful. There is a nice trail near the cabin and is easily accessible (it is steep though!). The cabin was perfect, the pictures don’t do it justice. Our dog loved the fenced in area. It’s also the perfect place to look at the stars. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the dry cabin while traveling home from our hiking trip. It was perfect! Cody and his family were very welcoming, to include his dog! The cabin itself is amazing! It’s clean and well taken care of. There is also a little seating area down by the creek to hang out and enjoy the sounds of nature. We also saw a ton of deer around. I would 10/10 stay here again.

This place is magical! The little seasonal creek in front of the cabin, the tall cottonwoods, the bigger creek tucked into the trees and even the purple flowers of the thistle as you walk the trail to get there were all so beautiful. We spent our days on the cabin porch listening to bird song and enjoying visits from the hummingbirds, Pumpkin the cat and the friendliest dogs who brightened our mornings. Cody was an awesome host, accommodating and helpful. Having spent most of our journey tent camping, the cabin was a luxury - clean and cozy with comfortable beds, a powerful fan for a warm day and a little grill and hot plate for warm meals. We loved it so much we extended our stay by a day and can't wait to go back!

We rolled the dice on this Hipcamp gem and hit the jackpot! Originally planned for one night, but after experiencing night one, extending was a no-brainer. Doug, the host, is seriously the best – super friendly and genuinely helpful. The whole place is incredibly well-maintained; even the bathrooms feel like they belong in a fancy hotel. Our "converted chapel" stay was a highlight, with a stunning stained glass window painting the room with light. You've also got a top-notch community kitchen (restaurant-grade stove, anyone?), a rad games room, and the river literally bubbling right outside, loud enough to be your personal soundtrack. Don't sleep on this one!

This placed exceeded my expectations. The cabin was spacious, had a fan, electricity, and everything I could need otherwise was available in the lodge or in nice bathroom areas around the complex. The Chapel is one of the spaces that allows dogs, and she was very comfortable walking all the shaded trails be the river. This is not your average RV pull-in spot. The host was very helpful, even pulling out a hose and metal bucket so my boyfriend and I could sift dirt we bought at the lodge in search of sapphires (we found several). I will be going back.

Gallogly Hot Springs, also known as Lost Trail Hot Springs since the 1970s, offers a unique retreat for travelers crossing the Continental Divide at Gibbons Pass. Nestled in a secluded area, this natural hot spring has served as a peaceful resting spot for those embarking on the challenging ascent of the old Indian trail, which climbs approximately 2,000 feet over just three miles. The soothing waters provide a perfect respite before tackling the strenuous journey ahead. The history of Gallogly Hot Springs dates back to 1892 when a woman built a cabin to keep her invalid son close to the healing waters. Although she only stayed for about two years and left the cabin unfinished, her efforts marked the beginning of human connection to this tranquil site. In 1894, Mr. Denning became the first to channel the hot water through a pipe to his comfortable cabin, which featured a cozy stone fireplace located about a quarter-mile from the springs. Unfortunately, fate intervened when a tree fell and crushed his cabin while he was away, prompting him to relocate. Today, Gallogly Hot Springs remains a hidden gem, inviting visitors to experience its natural beauty and therapeutic waters. The surrounding landscape offers opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, exploring nearby swimming holes, and enjoying the serene environment.
