Heart of the Country is our home and also your own personal twelve acre state park whenever you stay with us! We are less than 15 minutes from Interstate 10 and from Interstate 65. I offer a half-dozen campsites, all either on a relatively level paved driveway or grass. Power (20 amp and 30 amp) and water is available. We have two 30 amp campsites, which are first come, first served. WIFI is available! (please ask for password). We have a portable toilet (portable-potty) for your use. This is a Longleaf Pine sanctuary with lots of nature trails. This is also a hobby farm with livestock (two Donkeys, two Goats and a flock of Chickens). I feed the livestock grain every morning usually between 8 and 9 am, and again hay before dusk. You are always welcome to join me and I'll introduce all of them to you! My dog, Homer, is our very friendly welcoming ambassador who will enthusiastically great you upon your arrival. I put him up in his kennel each evening around dusk, then lock him in his shed until morning which keeps him from barking during the night. We also host three AirBnBs, so other guests may be here as well. Texting via the app is our preferred mode of communication. If you call, please leave a message if I can't answer, and I will call you back. We are slowly updating the site photos. Use them only to determine your price, for example: A site with 30 amp power and water is $25 per night. A site with 20 amp power and water is $20 per night. A boondocking site (no power) is $15 per night. All sites have access to a porta-potty and water. Suggested local attraction: Blakeley State Historic Park is four miles away.

Kitchenwares will have a layer of dust even if cleaned the day prior, so please give everything a rinse before you using! You may read about mosquitoes in some of our past reviews, but I am happy to share that we now have a monthly mosquito service in place that has mitigated that issue :) Learn more about this land: Our intention for this artist community is to bring like-minded people together and make the world a more beautiful place. It serves as our primary residence and also residence for seasonal workers&traveling artists when they come here. The site features full RV hookups, including well water, on-site sewer, and both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service. It accommodates vehicles under 35 feet, including travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, pop-up campers, Class A, B, and C RVs, campervans, truck campers, cars, and rooftop tents. The back-in site has a flat, loose-gravel surface, accommodates slideouts, and is accessible by 2WD vehicles. Up to six guests and two vehicles are welcome. Pets are allowed, and campfires are permitted in the designated wood-burning setup. Please note that there is no toilet available, so campers must bring their own camp toilet. Located just about a mile from Airport Boulevard and only minutes from shops, restaurants, and other conveniences, Dragon Fly Camp offers the best of both worlds—a peaceful place to stay with easy access to Mobile.

Beautiful site!! Close enough to the main attractions but far enough away to be private and quiet. Gulf Shores Sportsplex only 10 minutes away. Hosts were extremely nice and respectful of our privacy. Great fishing hole right out the front door. Loved this place and will stay here again! Thank you for a perfect trip!

We expected a relaxing bay/bayou getaway, and it did not disappoint. The site itself was well-kept and clean, and the atmosphere relaxed us immediately. We also felt very safe in our surroundings. Food, drink and supplies are close by as well. The hosts, Michael and Cindy, were extremely hospitable and friendly...you know you'll have a solid stay when the host greets you and guides you into your spot without having to ask. :-) We can't recommend thus place enough, and we will be repeat visitors. :-)

This was a great find. The place was very quiet. Dave greeted me when I got there, really nice guy, and it’s basically a pick your spot when you get there based on whether you’re using electric or not. Dave showed me what areas I could choose from since I didn’t need any amenities. It was a nice flat area in the shade for my campervan. I didn’t hear any noise from anybody else all night or even in the morning. Definitely recommend. I’d go back if I’m ever back in the area. He also has two donkeys, two goats and some chickens down the road a little when you drive in so it was nice to pet some of them.

Awesome place to stay right across from the gulf with beautiful water views. We stayed poolside and it wasn't very busy at all (before schools out for the summer) laundry and showers located right next to our site. We had a great time. Very convenient location of Hwy 90. A must stay.

Dave’s place is a hidden gem. Plenty of room and he goes out of his way to meet your camping needs. Easy to locate and quiet but just a few miles to town. Other campers present and everyone very friendly. Enjoyed the community fire pit but there are pits at some of the sites as well. Would definitely recommend.
