Our northern boundary is a tract of DeSoto National Forest, where we have practically exclusive access to another 90 acres of longleaf pine savannah and more bottomland creeks. The sandhills are a "desert in the rain," home to prickly pear cactus and yuccas, abundant lichens (deer "moss"), the endangered black pine snake, and our mascot, the also endangered Gopher Tortoise. We're a nature education and retreat center where we share permaculture practices, homesteading/sustainable living skills, conservation practices, and approaches to connecting more deeply to the land. Check out our sister non-profit, the Burrow Nature Center. Our stay was pretty much what we were looking for - secluded, quiet, and comfortable. The best part was the staff. They were beyond just friendly and professional, but were also very accommodating. They gave us a side-by-side tour of the property, let us borrow a phone charger, and even offered us fishing poles and bait to use in the two beautiful ponds. If you are looking for something secluded and quiet where you can just relax and enjoy nature, we strongly recommend.

This was the best trip I have been on in a long time. The home was absolutely perfect but all the camp sites on the property were beautiful. The owners are THE SWEETEST! They responded so quickly to any and all questions my family and I had. The property is incredible with so many awesome riding trails for all experience levels or ages. The home slept my whole family comfortably. Waking up and going right out to our bikes to ride was such an incredible experience. We all felt so safe and secure there even going into town and leaving our stuff. I would recommend this family, home, property and trails to EVERYONE. My family and I will 100% be back and we are so excited for the next trip already!

We had a wonderful experience! We booked the Yurt and the micro cabin for a family trip and both spaces were beautiful and comfortable. At one point the water stopped working and the hosts worked continuously to get it fixed and it was resolved within the day. Great trails. Very kid-friendly as well.

The land is absolutely beautiful, pond was refreshing and peaceful. I stayed in the micro cabin which was great. I would recommend that you do bring all of your own cooking supplies as there wasn't everything there that was needed and the outside space is not covered so when it was raining I didn't have access to the little kitchen.

We really enjoyed having access to the beautiful creek. Exploring upstream and downstream was one of the highlights of our trip. We took our chairs and our coffee each morning and sat on the sandbar while the sun rose. It was very peaceful. Cooking over an open fire each night was also extremely enjoyable.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Container Cabin

I was in town for a few days working in Natchez and decided to book this cabin for a nature getaway, since I’d previously stayed in hotels and wanted a different experience. The drive to and from Natchez was easy and manageable. I stayed two nights, and the cabin had everything I needed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the AC was ice-cold—perfect after a hot day outside. Zach went above and beyond by providing plenty of firewood and bottled water, which made the stay super convenient. I didn’t need to leave the cabin for anything. The location is very secluded; I didn’t see another person the entire time, yet I still felt completely safe. Zach stayed in regular contact throughout my stay, which made me feel especially secure and cared for as a solo traveler.

What a fantastic campsite! The site is very secluded and private (this was the best feature in my opinion). We were able to let the dogs roam free without worrying about them getting in trouble. The views of the farm from the platform are really nice. The bed and tent were comfortable. My son loved playing in the creek, riding the zip line, and sitting by the fire.

1 night at A&W Christmas Tree Farm

I cannot say enough positive things about my stay at A&W's Christmas Tree Farm. The property is gorgeous, and there is so much to explore. We were met at the cabin by the delightful Austin and Wanda (hosts), who gave us a personal ~hourish tour of the property and the cabin. They clearly have put much thought into hosting and want you to feel as comfortable and welcomed as possible. My two large dogs loved sniffing around and stretching their legs after a long day in the car. We enjoyed our early morning walk through the fields of Christmas Trees with tranquil nature sounds all around us. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind stay, this is it. I will forever continue to book this Hipcamp if I'm in the area :)

2 nights at All You Need Institute

This was exactly what I had hoped for. The Yurt was very spacious. We really appreciated the piano being there. There was power to the Yurt, so we were able to charge our electronics. There were some bad storms our last night there, but we never felt unsafe. The Yurt is obviously well constructed and sturdy. It stayed cool enough during the day, thanks to it being in the shade and there's a wood stove if need be for cooler nights. We never needed it. The driveway to the site was easy enough in my all wheel drive SUV, but may be a bit tougher for smaller cars, especially if it is raining. We unfortunately didn't get to spend much time there during day light, so we didn't get to explore. I would definitely stay here again.
