This cabin was built by hand in the 1970s from white pine that was harvested and milled on-site. Our family purchased and rehabbed this beautiful cabin throughout 2021. Indoor and out, there are so many ways to relax and connect with loved ones during all seasons at Bundo's Cabin.

The modern yet cozy cabin has electricity and features a front patio, an external outhouse and outdoor rainwater bucket shower, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, a living area, and a sleeping loft with a reading nook. No matter the season, this cabin is a wonderful, cozy, and clean, place to relax and unwind.
Feel free to roam around the 10-acre property and explore the 80 acres of state land to the north. Deer, foxes, coyotes, turkeys, owls, eagles and more are likely to be seen or heard. Explore, Banning, Moose Lake, and Father Hennepin State Parks which are all within 30 minutes, and return to the cabin to read, play games, listen to records, have a fire, and relax.
The kitchen provides you with everything you need to prepare your meals including a refrigerator, small freezer, stove, oven, cookware, cutting boards, sink, seasonings, oil, and coffee.
Water for washing is available from an electric pump faucet in the kitchen, and a brand-new outhouse is located steps from the cabin.
The cabin is efficiently heated and cooled with a user-friendly heat pump and gets the cabin to your desired temperature very quickly.

*We have free range chickens and friendly border collie. Sometimes there's a dog staying at the other cabin. Wildlife is also in the area, so we require that dogs be supervised and leashed, for their safety, and our wild animal neighbors. No dogs may be left unattended in our cabins while you go out! Take your canine pal with you! Quiet hours: dusk to 7am. Also consider your dog's inclination for barking. We keep the peace and quiet of all of our guests in mind.
*DRAGON LOFT has one double bed in a loft with steep ladder. Great for two people. Room for dog bed or kennel below the loft. Has a nice reading/coffee room, fridge, oil radiator, hot plate, WiFi, deck with table and chairs, patio with fire ring., grill outside. You have full use of the trails in our woods!
*RAVEN WATCH is larger and comfortable for up to four people. Solar power, off grid (no WiFi). Double bed upstairs overlooking the pond, and another downstairs by the cozy wood stove. A cute little kitchen with a nice gas stove and wash area. Fire ring outside. Wood supply. Price based on two adults. Small fee for up to two more people +pets. Next to pond, creek and woods! We raised our children here, and over 45 yrs have planted trees and pollinator acres. We always enjoy meeting other travelers. While living and teaching internationally we looked for adventure, staying in a wide range of hostels in developing countries around the globe. Great quiet relaxing location, wildlife and the sound of the country. You will have the only camp site on the property. You can stay in the small camping cabin in comfort with your own bedding, or sleeping bag for the twin bed in the loft, or the futon on the main level. The cabin only has room for two adults unless you bring a camp pad to sleep on the floor, or squeeze in a child, but you have the comforts of an A/C , a Weber grill, mini fridge, microwave, and Electricity. Quiet former country farm site, with great wildlife viewing options with walking trails. Only 23 miles to DT St. Cloud and 8 Miles to the Walmart in Princeton for food or supplies. If a shower is desired the Kwik Trip in St Cloud, on Hwy 10 has showers. Just a half mile off Hwy 95 and 5 miles from the large Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge, with trails and lots of wildlife. In the Fall expect to see a large amount of wildlife with many migrating birds come out of the refuge to feed. Expect to hear Pheasant's cackle in the AM, and see Sandhill Cranes and Geese fly over the camp site, or sitting in area fields. Enjoy time around a campfire with folding chairs and a picknick table, with plenty of free dry firewood in a storage rack.

Great place and host was responsive. Only downside was that sites were close and made it a little difficult to share the space when a large family was there but would come back, just rent the entire site. Amenities were amazing and location was perfect.

The A frame was so fun to be in! I loved the concept of opening up the side and having the dogs relax and be able to go in and out when they wanted! The river right next to the site was peaceful, so many birds for bird watching and not too many mosquitoes when we went (although ticks loved our dogs). The owners let us try some of their wine and got to meet the other campers which was super fun and had a lot of laughs! Go meet Carl and his family, they are so wonderful. It’s right next to Rum River State Forest and not too far from Lake Mille Lacs. Great stay! Would come back :)

Jon’s property was absolutely beautiful. Fully equipped with potable water sink, AC, fridge with small freezer, electric stove, and exceptionally clean outhouse. The sleeping loft was cozy but warm, would recommend bringing a small fan in the summer months. We unfortunately had to cut our
trip short due to the ticks, but that was no fault of the host and he was extremely accommodating. If you come to the cabin during tick season please be prepared. Overall this is a great Hipcamp and would definitely come back in the fall!

Husband, son, dogs, & I had a blast there. Found it very dog friendly! We lucked out with it being middle May and had the place to ourselves. The amenities were fantastic! It was so nice to glamp and have access to A/C and a fridge. We stayed in the cabin. Loved that there was bedding so we didn’t have to pack a bunch. Site was cool. Great location to parks. Food in towns nearby was good. Squirrel Cage was great for breakfast. Mosquitoes, ants, & ticks were bad unfortunately. The fire ring is shared among all sites. There is a fire ring at the river too. Kayaks were there which was cool. My dogs loved the path to the river. Great stay really enjoyed ourselves!

Weekend Trip to Crooked Creek Retreat
The Pine Hunters Cabin was the perfect weekend getaway. It has all the items you need for camping, and the comfort of sleeping inside. From the second you walk in the door you can exhale and relax. The dining area was perfect for dinner when the weather was too much. We loved the cards/books and games strategically placed the cabin. Our favorite detail we experienced was the viewfinder. We reminisced about being kids and enjoyed the throwback! The fireplace kept the cabin nice and warm when its 35 degrees outside.
The landscape was INCREDIBLE. We saw wild turkeys, Sandhill Cranes, and the STARS with zero light pollution. The outhouse is clean and so easy to access. The fire pit was ideal for some Dutch oven pot roast, s’mores and singing! We can’t wait to come back!

Awesome cabin! Our stay was a little unseasonably chilly so we spent a lot of our time inside in front of the fireplace. A modern cabin with all the amenities was exactly what we needed. Easy access to fire pit and grill and very close to the river, which was nice. I wish there were more direct walking paths from the cabin to hike with our pups but we made due walking down the main road. Great place to stay, thank you for having us!!

It was remote but easy to get to and close enough to others that it wasn’t nerve wracking as a new place can be. Getting in was easy and the right mixture of camping and cabin life. A beautiful place! We had a great time there. The cabin is really nicely set up, no uncertainties while there. Naomi’s directions and details were perfect. Many nice settings to gather: the big kitchen table, main room, fire pit. We had a big fresh ol’ hike on the trails surrounding the property. A BEAUTIFUL spot! Very peaceful spot on a slow moving river! On a Sunday in early spring there was lots of gunshots. I think there might be a nearby shooting range. Also had dogs barking all night that made me leave in the middle of the night. I’m assuming the dogs are not a usual issue but if the sounds of gunshots off in the distance bothers you this place might not be for you. Overall I loved the place and I’ll be coming back again. If the dog thing happens the second time I probably won’t return.

We had an incredible weekend at Bundo’s Cabin. It was exactly what we needed. The heater works great! If anything, at night, we were almost too warm in the loft. Super dog friendly property, and it’s very private. We loved off-leash snow shoeing with our pups and did tons of exploring.

This is such a perfect getaway! It was cozy (once we got the fire going which didn't take long), quiet, beautiful, and invitational. It was perfect for lying low and enjoying simplicity. The decor was also fun and meeting Naomi gave some added appreciation for the history of this place. I'm excited to visit again!
