Welcome to Marshwiggle Farm. Here on our little slice of paradise, we enjoy raising our family, some chickens and a few pigs! We grow a big garden filled with both vegetables and flowers. Our LGD, Yukon, guards the farm and happily makes sure the deer, raccoons and bunnies stay away. His perimeter is an electric fence up by our house so he won’t be visiting you.
Your tent site is located on the back of our 18 acre farm and you have your own private lane to access the campsite. We are located next to a designated dark sky area so the stargazing is fantastic! Plus wildlife is abundant including our two Sandhill cranes that live on the pond.
Dr Lawless Park is a designated DARK SKY and is located 1/4 of a mile away. This park has fantastic mountain biking and hiking so bring your bikes to enjoy a good ride!
There is space to park your boat for use on the local lakes. Birch Lake is absolutely gorgeous and makes for a great kayak ride. Enjoy fishing or water sports on local Diamond or Donnell Lakes located within a few minutes of our farm. We are around 45 minutes from Amish country Shipshewana and Notre Dame Stadium.

Our sight offers scenic views of sunrise on the riverbend as well as the New Richmond Swing Bridge, now open to pedestrian traffic only. The small county park next door offers a riverside boardwalk full of natural flora and wildlife for morning strolls or the delight of a fisherman who likes to be 1st on the water! Kayak and Canoe Rentals are also available on sight, best to reserve in advance. Hiking trails nearby offer a great way to explore the Allegan Forest or the lakeshore sand dunes. We are 7 miles east of Saugatuck and 5 miles north of Fennville, our site makes a perfect escape from the nearby lakeshore shopping and dining district while keeping you in close proximity to local wineries and other attractions. This is a group camp site only, 20 person minimum. I want this space to be a place of peace and relaxing where you can be free to be yourselves. I feel it’s great for groups that want privacy for their own group without having to worry about other campers who may not like the same activities. It’s a small farm that has different crops planted on it in different years, there are 3 small ponds, one we use for swimming and entertaining. There are other kinds of fruit and vegetable farms nearby. We are in the heart of winery country and we are only 15 minutes from Lake Michigan and only minutes from several small inland all sports lakes. We also own a Farm Market and Flower Greenhouses. There is a large area if you have a group of campers we can accommodate more. We are constantly trying to update all the time and we do use it for our own parties and entertainment.

At the campsite, you'll have all 5 acres of wooded land to yourself, and you can walk to the free, public Lake Michigan beach access in about two to five minutes, depending on your walking speed.
The property has several sites that are perfect for pitching a tent, and we only rent to one camper at a time, so the choice will be all yours!
You'll also have free access to the groomed walking and hiking trails that go around and through the property.
Both the property and the beach are dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friend. Please keep your dog on a leash, as Blue Star Highway is a 55 MPH road and can be dangerous for loose pets.
Beach Side on Blue Star does not have a bathroom facility, but there is a port-a-john at the beach access. There are also two restaurants and a Dollar General within walking distance of the property (less than 1 mile away), but keep in mind that you'll be walking down a highway, though it does have a very wide shoulder.

We loved our time at Trestle Bell! It was so nice to arrive to our site and have firewood waiting for us, as well as potable water. We really enjoyed the riverside location near Fennville and it was a short drive to Saugatuck and Douglas.

We had a nice time renting some of her kayaks and a canoe to get the full river experience too. Also, my husband enjoyed fishing the river. We would highly recommend staying here!

Weekend Trip to Marshwiggle Farm
I had stayed at Marshwiggle previously on the bring-your-own-tent camp sites and it was awesome. This time when I booked, I didn't look too closely, so imagine my delight when I arrived and found a spacious, clean, bug-free tent with a full kitchen and a comfy queen bed! Sarah is a super responsive and accommodating host. I found s'mores supplies and a fresh vase of flowers when I arrived, and even though it was a disgusting 92 degrees and high humidity, the tent was pleasant-enough at night with the windows open. If you are not used to tent camping, I can see how this might feel too rustic, but as someone who usually does basic car camping, this was an incredible upgrade. I was staying in the area for a retreat, so I didn't cook any meals, but man, it would have be great to cook up some burgers or other things on the Blackstone and enjoy some local ciders by the fire. The kitchen seemed to have everything needed. I hope next time I come, I can stay long enough to get the breakfast add-on.
The bathroom is also a nice upgrade from a typical vault toilet and I am grateful to have running water to wash my hands and face. The addition of the outdoor shower this year is FANTASTIC. It was so hot, I didn't use the heater, but it was really nice to take a cold shower before bed - just had to wait until it was late enough that the mosquitos were not completely swarming. I come to the area often, so I am already looking forward to my next stay!

Weekend Trip to Riverside Respite at New Richmond
The cabin at Riverside was absolutely adorable! All the ambience of a true fishing cabin from long ago. Julie and Bill were fantastic hosts. The communication was spectacular and they responded to us immediately when a little hiccup occurred. The cabin is situated right on the river and there are boats and kayakers waving as they pass. There is a train directly across the street hidden by some trees, so you will hear the train noises, but that didn’t bother us any. It’s not a secluded site, but you still have privacy.
You really only need to bring your clothes because everything else has been provided for you. Fennville is a cute little town with a surprisingly well appointed grocery store and some great dining spots. It’s a short distance to Saugatuck, Holland, and a little farther to South Haven.
We had a great day and would love to come back again to do some kayaking! Thank you, Bill and Julie!
