Welcome to Beach Side on Blue Star, a private campsite conveniently located directly across the street from Lake Michigan and less than 1/4 mile from public beach access at Roadside Park in Hagar Township! At the campsite, you'll have all 5 acres of wooded land to yourself, and you can walk to the free, public Lake Michigan beach access in about two to five minutes, depending on your walking speed. The property has several sites that are perfect for pitching a tent, and we only rent to one camper at a time, so the choice will be all yours! You'll also have free access to the groomed walking and hiking trails that go around and through the property. Both the property and the beach are dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friend. Please keep your dog on a leash, as Blue Star Highway is a 55 MPH road and can be dangerous for loose pets. Beach Side on Blue Star does not have a bathroom facility, but there is a port-a-john at the beach access. There are also two restaurants and a Dollar General within walking distance of the property (less than 1 mile away), but keep in mind that you'll be walking down a highway, though it does have a very wide shoulder. Please refer to the map attached to this listing for a better idea of the exact location. While the proximity to the free, public, dog-friendly beach is the main appeal, Beach Side on Blue Star is located between two highways: I-196 at the back of the property (separated by a fence) and Blue Star Highway in the front. Road noise can always be heard on the property, so this is not a “backcountry” camping experience.This is the only camp site on the 5 acre property, so you can choose any spot you like. There is no bathroom, but the beach across the street does have a Port-a-John. A trash can is provided, please dispose of all trash.
