This a great place! It is obvious that great skill and care went into building the cabin itself and what an excellent site it is on! If you have been looking for a cabin that is not right next to the owner's house or right on a blacktop road, this is the place for you! The tucked away cabin is back down a windy little dirt road through the woods and is truly surrounded by nature. A great bike trail along the Grand River is literally 5 minutes away. Perfect secluded glamping experience with everything you need including a Solo Stove fire pit that is the most efficient way to burn wood I have ever seen. I will definitely be back to this special place.

I stayed in S cabin (8x10). Very basic with futon, microwave, small fridge, electricity. Great covered porch. Make sure to bring a fitted sheet and bedding. Facilities are about 100 meters away. They could use a nice cleaning, but does the job. Beautiful trails and plenty of wood.

Weekend Trip to Tucked - Away Cabin
Tucked Away Cabin is my favorite hipcamp spot so far! I’ve been to quite a few sites in the Midwest and this one stood out from the rest! The cabin is truly a gem, hand built by the family, and tucked way back on their property. You can feel the love there! The host family has over 40 acres, if I remember correctly, and there are walking trails all throughout the property. Cathy and her husband are very welcoming and kind and are there if you need anything at all, but you’re so tucked back in the woods that you feel totally secluded and at peace. We felt so relaxed here hearing the sounds of nature, seeing deer, butterflies, cardinals, a blue jay, dragonflys, and even a blue herring overhead and I really enjoyed exploring the property! Cathy is the sweetest and was very accommodating to us and she stocks the cabin very well! Thankfully, I was over prepared but if you are not very experienced in camping or are looking for a private weekend away this is the perfect spot to go! Everything you need is provided from plates to fire starters to Tonka irons! 15/10 I absolutely love this spot and highly recommend it! Stop reading and book!!! You’ll have the best time and go home feeling so grounded and at peace!

Was the perfect place to relax and unwind! If you love nature in it's truest form this is the place had Luke as a companion for a couple nights great guest dog ....even waited for my wife outside of the restroom and walked her back to camp. Cabin was clean and cozy just used it for sleeping which was great not having to put up a tent and deal with the rainy nights. Stephen was a great host came by by respectfully to see if we needed anything and ask how our stay was going.

Weekend Trip to Tucked - Away Cabin
The cabin is located at the deeper parts of Cathy's property in the woods and it provides a very isolated feeling from everything else. It is very clean and everything is very nicely considered to provide comfort (fire pit filled with wood, kitchen with necessary accessories, etc) , so that all that is left for you is to enjoy the experience. Cathy is very communicative and flexible for the check in experience. We would love to go back in the future.

We loved our stay at Sandy’s cabin! We’ve stayed in cabins all over the world, and who knew the perfect one was only an 2-hour drive away! Every little detail has been thoughtfully attended to. The cabin is warm and inviting with any item you might need. Bathroom facilities were so clean, and the property is a dream for bird watching and wandering with your dog. It was hard to decide whether to hang out in the sunroom/porch or outside in the lovely, quiet forest setting. Great fire pit area, and dark skies for star gazing. We can’t wait to return!

Sleep to the sound of tree frogs, owls, distant coyotes. Walk thru a glitter of fire flies down a trail at night. My black lab Luke or cat Mojo will likely visit your site to say hello and are super chill. 2 disc golf Black Hole Pro baskets on site to practice with. Only 30 minutes east of Grand Rapids, this property was established as a Youth Camp for 15 years is now a private event venue and campground, so it has nice amenities like FULL restrooms, a picnic shelter, and even a few small cabins that can be rented. Cabins ARE SMOKE FREE and may not be used as kennels so please keep pets off furnature and don't leave them inside when you are gone. You must bring your own queen sheet set. Steam cleaning the mattress will be an extra charge. Swimming beach is available in Lowell a few miles away. Fishing rivers and lakes are also in the area. (live bait in Saranac) Woods site and Open Area have a few different locations you can choose from. If woods or open shows booked already, please contact me. Additional fee of $20 per extra tent/camper that sleeps an adult. Picnic shelter is also available. Use my website to RSVP entire camp area for an event such as wedding.

Tucked - Away Cabin

We have about 40 acres and trails through the area for exploring. You just may come across some "forts" constructed by some of our grandchildren. There is a large fire pit and plenty of firewood for a minimal cost. (Trash can full. ) If you listen in the evening, you are likely able to hear a couple of owls talking back and forth. Usually you can see some deer and maybe some turkeys. There are many old pines around the property, the last remnants of our Christmas tree farm. There is no electricity in the cabin, but we do have two solar lights and some battery lights. If it's been rainy, the solar won't work as well. We have cornhole game available upon request and some table games kept in cabin. If you want to go biking, there is a trail in town, about 5 miles away.

EarthWell Retreat Center boasts a spring-fed swimming pond situated on forty acres of rolling prairie, forest and wetland, surrounded by one hundred acres of Washtenaw County Nature Preserve. Six off-grid sleeping cabins dot the landscape, all within a short walk to our Common House, that includes a large gathering space, community kitchen/dining and bathrooms/shower. EarthWell offers Yoga and Meditation classes and weekend retreats year-round. Located in Southeastern Michigan, just 30 minutes west of Ann Arbor, and near the towns of Grasslake, Chelsea, Manchester. (All downtowns are 7-10 miles away). EarthWell allows hiking, wildlife watching (amazing sandhill cranes), swimming and canoeing/kayaking/paddleboating in our pond. East of Chelsea is the expansive Pinckney and Waterloo State Recreation areas, with over 20 lakes and trails for hikers, bikers, backpackers, and horseback riders. There are two households (the families of Ari Wakeman and Emily Adama) that live permanently on the property. (one in the lower level of the common house, and one in a cabin 200 yards from the common house.) During your rental they will maintain quiet and privacy for your group, but will remain on the property for the duration of your stay and will be available should any issues arise. There are a number of trails to walk on the 35 private acreage of rolling hills. This heavily wooded land hosts much wildlife and beautiful scenery. There is a sport court which provides opportunities to play basketball, volleyball, pickleball, or badminton. The property is a work in progress with lots of plans for the future; including a food forest, natural pool, recreation building (being built summer 2022), and more.. The property offers a chance to reconnect with each other, yourself, or the natural world in a simplistic and harmonious way. I hope you come experience it! 35 private acres of forest on rolling hill terrain. Lots of wildlife nestled very close to the flat river; 30-40 minutes away from Grand Rapids. The Fred Meijer trail provides great biking or hiking opportunities. Lazy float tubing or kayaking down the flat river is very popular and only a short walk away. Horse back riding, golf courses, and an amazing local bakery all within a couple miles. And a fun sport court (basketball hoop, volleyball/badminton/pickelball net all right on site!

Need a quiet, secluded getaway? Our off-grid cabin is on approximately 10 acres of private woods. As you turn off the main road into our cabin's driveway, you will begin to understand why this is our hidden gem. Enjoy the coziness of a wood stove in the winter or a crackling fire in seclusion in the summer- this little getaway cabin is sure to create fond memories. Maybe you will hear the horned owl at night or see an eagle while you kayak. Your adventure or a peaceful vacation awaits. The 450-square-foot cabin has a queen bed in the loft and two cots that can accommodate more guests. Guests must be able to climb a wooden log ladder. The kitchen has a two-burner stove and oven that can hold a 9x13 pan. Although we do not have running water, we do have a hand-washing sink and a sink for washing dishes. We also provide you with plenty of water for washing and drinking during your stay. As it is well water, you may want to take your own drinking water, if you prefer. We also have dishes, utensils, hot dog sticks, fry pie makers, pots and pans, a tripod grill for over the fire, and a small charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal). You will also want to bring a cooler to keep any food cold. Outside, we have a fire pit, wood to collect or purchase, and a hammock to fully enjoy your stay. Our bathroom is an outhouse and has been described as the “cleanest outhouse in Michigan.” Our latest addition is a seasonal rustic outdoor shower! We provide water that is heated by solar power (or you can heat some on the stove to hurry the process!) The shower is seasonal - only available from May to September. Within 1/4 mile is the St. Joe River which is a great place for kayaking. We also have kayaks and quads for rent. We also have some short trails on the property and a railroad bed adjacent to the cabin area. Our cabin is powered by a small and very quiet Honda generator. It is super easy to start. The cabin’s main source of heat is a wood stove with wood we provide. An air conditioner is provided for the summer. For more than two people will be an additional $10 per night per person. Pets are a $25 per pet additional fee. Pets are not to be on furniture and not to be taken into the loft for their protection.
