This past summer my college roommate and I spent a few days hammock camping on Rock Island. We backpacked to the far side of the island and enjoyed viewing the Perseid meteor shower along with the bright and beautiful Milky Way. I highly recommend this Park!

Cabin on lake with no public access. Camper/RV with large deck on same lake approximately 1200 feet away. Another camper in grassy clearing within the forest, approximately 600 feet away from lake. Owner's home is out of sight and sound 1/4 mile away.  Pasture and forest property borders 2500 feet of private lake front.  Property also borders the Hiawatha National Forest.  Great pike fishing on shallow lake with access to 10' jon boats with oars and single seat kayaks.  Life vests available. Cabin is one open room with bunk beds that sleep 4 plus a full size futon. Cooking and dish water is provided by hanging 7 gallon jug over kitchen sinks. No indoor toilets, outhouse available at all three sites. Gas cooking stove and wood burning stove/oven for heat and cooking. Battery powered electric lights. Wood burning interior stove and sauna at cabin. Campers have no interior heat. Water, box of firewood, pots and pans, and utensils provided. Bring food, ice, and drinking water. Bring charcoal and lighter fluid if you want to use small grills outside. Dogs are welcome just not on beds or futon :)

Truly a sweet little spot where the quiet is only interrupted by the hooting of the Barred Owl, the call of the Whippoorwill, and the howls of the wolves. (And the occasional ATVs)

Located in the Upper Peninsula's Hiawatha Forest. Dark skies and quiet nights. Private area which is gated, gravel pad, picnic table with umbrella, pitcher pump for water, and fire pit, where you can safely leave your rig for day trips. No electric or water hook-ups. Firewood is available. Plenty of blowdown kindling laying around, help yourselves.  

You are staying in the woods where bugs can be persistent at times depending on the weather. Please be prepared for this; it’s something I have no control over. Many activities here in the UP! Check out exploringthenorth.com to see all the possibilities!

This is a quiet spot to get away from it all. No shooting and absolutely no fireworks allowed within the Hiawatha Forest!

This property was once a old lumber Mill with a river running through it. We purchased it and are restoring the buildings and turning most into storage units .

We have a rustic campsite along the side of a river with a Limestone base where you would camp on !   Places for tent camping as well. We have wildlife , including deer, turtles , Geese, otters and ducks !  We have a picnic table and fire pit on site very quiet and Relaxing .   Take a snooze in the Hammock.  Our camp site is 3 miles from Food and Gas , 9 miles from the Island resort and Casino. Bring your Kayak's and check out the river !   Come enjoy pristine beautiful Upper Peninsula
