Wander through a mix of forest trails and open space, or enjoy a stroll through our gardens (while our campsite is pet friendly, we do ask that you keep your pets out of the garden areas). Wildlife is abundant—keep an eye out for deer, birds, and more. Our serene pond is a perfect spot to unwind as you listen to frogs and watch turtles and ducks in their natural habitat. Wild apple trees and thimbleberries dot the property and you're welcome to pick from them when they are in season. Walk out of this cozy and clean little vintage camper onto the outdoor kitchen/bathroom that faces the Northern Sky. This is a great spot for star gazing and if your lucky the Northern Lights might give you a dance! The camper is setup for a single person to sleep (twin bed). If your doing Vanlife or camping and want to sleep in your van or tent on the property while using the facilities - we'll refund you $10! ACCOMODATION The camper has electricity with lights/outlets/ a fan and a small heater. The windows open with screens for nice ventilation. The comfortable twin mattress is complete with a clean mattress cover. Please bring your own sleeping bag / bedding / pillow case / towel. The kitchen has a mini-fridge and a gas camping stove and is furnished with all you need for cooking and eating. If you prefer cooking on an open fire there is a campfire pit that's a great spot to hang out on cool evenings. The camper is right next to the outdoor kitchen/bathroom which is connected to the back of the main house. It was all built with maximum privacy in mind for both the Hip-camper and the House-guest. THE AREA You are on the edge of the village of Larium in Calumet township. It's a very safe and quiet area. You can see some neighbor's houses from the yard - all nice good people :) It's only a few minutes walk or bike ride to downtown Calumet where you can find a grocery store, coffee shops, a great bakery, restaurants ... Calumet also has a big farmer's market every Saturday during the warmer months and free music performances every Wednesday night at the Calumet Theater! For nature lovers - your right in it! You can start hiking or biking right out of the camper. Your connected to miles of trails that cover the Keweenaw Peninsula. For swimming it's only a short drive to Calumet Water Works Park for an excellent Lake Superior Sunset Beach. Quiet, great location. Ryan was was friendly and kept up on anything that I needed for camp. Spacious camp, nice bed, power was provided no problems, plenty of firewood, water, ECT. Lots of hiking and waterfalls within the area. Short distance to fuel, food, town. Ryan and his Father were great hosts.

10/10 would stay here again! It was a gorgeous, spacious site. The location was great (my friends and I were able to explore up to Copper Harbor and down to Houghton with ease), the site itself was very clean and private, and the small touches were so thoughtful (fire making supplies and cooking utensils). Our only regret was not carving out enough time in our plans to explore the farm/trails and get to know the owners!

Stunning site! A bit of a challenge for our 38’ class C….but managed. Unparalleled views and very private. Road down a bit angled. All in all a must see! Hope to come back for a longer visit! Dogs happy on the beach!

This is beautiful place. Your surrounded by trees on 3 sides minus where you pull in. In front of you is the bay. The fire pit has one high side and 3 low sides, which was nice for cooking. There is a picnic table, shovel, rake and ax and a clothes line left to use. There was also enough wood left for 2 or3 fires. Unfortunately it rained as we got there so alot of it was wet. They leave a hose with a sprayer by the entrance on a tree limb for water use. He did also supply the wifi password. You can walk out a good distance in the water before it drops off. Yes, you can hear some traffic from the main rd. But its more of background noise. The sunrise is not "in your face" nor is the sunset, it goes down behind some mts. But the bay is in the west side

We had a wonderful stay at Ryan’s glamping site! The tent was spacious and felt cozy, with the lighting providing ambiance and even throw pillows and blankets for an extra touch of warmth. We enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of rain falling on the tent, while remaining dry inside. The site was easy to find and we were greeted upon arrival. It was the perfect place to stay while we spent the weekend immersed in nature, exploring the Keweenaw Peninsula. We are already planning to go back next year!

I pulled in at dusk - directions were clear, and the campsite was quiet and private in a beautiful rural setting, yet convenient the next morning when I needed to get to town. Water was provided, as well as a picnic table and trashcan and information about the farm. I would totally stay here again!

3 nights at Private Wooded Camping on the Lake

This woodsy site on Huron Bay was fabulous for our family trip. We have a small pop-out camper that just fit on a spot with a great view of the water, and that left just one other small level spot for our kids' tent. It might prove challeging to fit a large rig. It was great to have water fill up right there, and the convenience store down the road with all the basics. The sandy beach area fun. It goes out a long ways before dropping off, which makes swimming and fishing a bit challenging. It's more of a wading beach. Our dog loved it. There are houses on either side of the site, but they are not really visible through the decent stretch of woods and no one was there while we were there. There is a bit of road noise, but it's not all that busy and there is a thick screen of woods between the site and the road. The neighbor's dock is massive and juts out into deeper water mockingly beckoning you to go where you cannot tresspass. The kayaks for rent did not come with plugs (they were definitely taking on water) or life vests, so they were a bit unsafe to take too far out in the bay, and they were a bit small for the 200+ lb people in our group. Fortunately we brought our canoe and managed to catch a single northern pike in 3 days. We saw quite a few fish jump, heard many birds, and had an ermine boldly cut through camp in front of us. The only real complaint we had was that the porta-potty was unusable. We can deal with gross, but this one was beyond that.

Very nice few with a wonderful sandy beach and waterfront. Plenty of eagles, loons, and sturgeon jumping out front. Prepare to get creative behind the steering wheel to position your 20 plus foot trailer for the best view but it can be done. Fire pit is just ok and the porta john hasn't been pumped out in a long time ( glad we use our trailer for those things). Close to Finn Bar for lunch if needed and a few hikes to local waterfalls. Lastly, within seconds of connecting our Android phones to the local internet provided we were infected by a virus and both of devices need a factory reset.... currently working to get a backup done without passing on virus to the cloud storage.

Great spot to pitch a tent. Quiet. Simple. Beautiful. The weather was perfect for our stay! Price can't be beat compared to current campground costs with RV noise. Quick drive to local hot spots. Favorite parts... dad "easy access to Hungarian Falls." Little sis' "there's a sink [running water] next to the porta potty!" Big brother "thimbleberries and trees for a hammock" Mom "wildflowers and simplicity."

We enjoyed staying at Pat’s place. It is located on Huron Bay on Lake Superior just outside of L’Anse. The campsite is located past his place but enough woods between the house and the next residence to enjoy privacy. Pat was not on site but quickly responded to all questions that I had for him. Some firewood was supplied for first night…we left some for the next guest. Planning on returning again sometime. Only downside was the port o’ potty was small. A permanent outhouse a little larger would give this a 5 star rating. 😊
