Our LGD, Yukon, guards the farm and happily makes sure the deer, raccoons and bunnies stay away. His perimeter is an electric fence up by our house so he won’t be visiting you.
Your tent site is located on the back of our 18 acre farm and you have your own private lane to access the campsite. We are located next to a designated dark sky area so the stargazing is fantastic! Plus wildlife is abundant including our two Sandhill cranes that live on the pond.
Dr Lawless Park is a designated DARK SKY and is located 1/4 of a mile away. This park has fantastic mountain biking and hiking so bring your bikes to enjoy a good ride!
There is space to park your boat for use on the local lakes. Birch Lake is absolutely gorgeous and makes for a great kayak ride. Enjoy fishing or water sports on local Diamond or Donnell Lakes located within a few minutes of our farm. We are around 45 minutes from Amish country Shipshewana and Notre Dame Stadium.

The Man's Annex aka the Mannex is located on Scenic US HWY 12 to the South and The South Shore Commuter Rail to the North. The campsite is very clean, tidy and safe. The main pebble parking area slopes gently to the North so you will want levelers if you're in a camper. I have a brand new RV Pedestal complete with 50 and 30amp service, a mechanical timer for the LED lights encompassing the parking area as well as a rheostat so you can dim the lights. I have a 40" firepit with spark arrestor (please use to be in compliance with local laws) as well as a polywood octagonal picnic table and well water with 100' hose. Trash and human waste is to be carried out. Please keep your camper to the east of the blue and yellow birdhouses as access to the building is needed. The location is great! You're inside the dunes national park and only 1.35 miles to the beach. Just north of the train tracks is the Calumet bike path. .35 to the west is a gas station with a bathroom, the south shore train station (day trip to Chicago anyone?), a great restaurant and liquor store as well. Bikes are HIGHLY recommended to be able to help facilitate your exploring of this very unique part of the country. If you're a birder and you don't already know, bring your binocs, this is one of the best birding towns in the Midwest / country due to the location and it's biodiversity.

The small county park next door offers a riverside boardwalk full of natural flora and wildlife for morning strolls or the delight of a fisherman who likes to be 1st on the water! Kayak and Canoe Rentals are also available on sight, best to reserve in advance. Hiking trails nearby offer a great way to explore the Allegan Forest or the lakeshore sand dunes. We are 7 miles east of Saugatuck and 5 miles north of Fennville, our site makes a perfect escape from the nearby lakeshore shopping and dining district while keeping you in close proximity to local wineries and other attractions. This is a group camp site only, 20 person minimum. I want this space to be a place of peace and relaxing where you can be free to be yourselves. I feel it’s great for groups that want privacy for their own group without having to worry about other campers who may not like the same activities. It’s a small farm that has different crops planted on it in different years, there are 3 small ponds, one we use for swimming and entertaining. There are other kinds of fruit and vegetable farms nearby. We are in the heart of winery country and we are only 15 minutes from Lake Michigan and only minutes from several small inland all sports lakes. We also own a Farm Market and Flower Greenhouses. There is a large area if you have a group of campers we can accommodate more. We are constantly trying to update all the time and we do use it for our own parties and entertainment.

At the campsite, you'll have all 5 acres of wooded land to yourself, and you can walk to the free, public Lake Michigan beach access in about two to five minutes, depending on your walking speed.
The property has several sites that are perfect for pitching a tent, and we only rent to one camper at a time, so the choice will be all yours!
You'll also have free access to the groomed walking and hiking trails that go around and through the property.
Both the property and the beach are dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friend. Please keep your dog on a leash, as Blue Star Highway is a 55 MPH road and can be dangerous for loose pets.

There are also two restaurants and a Dollar General within walking distance of the property (less than 1 mile away), but keep in mind that you'll be walking down a highway, though it does have a very wide shoulder.

While the proximity to the free, public, dog-friendly beach is the main appeal, Beach Side on Blue Star is located between two highways: I-196 at the back of the property (separated by a fence) and Blue Star Highway in the front. Absolutely PERFECT private camping spot!! Geoff has done an immaculate job of setting up a well maintained and comfortable stay. 30amp plug in, hose to transfer water, fire pit and café lighting hung for ambiance. Timer and dimmer in the electric box. As it says in his profile, there is the e-train that goes by occasionally- but by no means does it minimize the stay! Geoff stopped by to welcome us, great guy. Had some common threads and ended up having a couple beers with him and great conversation. Ended up booking with him b/c the campgrounds were full - but will easily stay there again no matter what!

Weekend Trip to Riverside Respite at New Richmond
We loved our time at Trestle Bell! It was so nice to arrive to our site and have firewood waiting for us, as well as potable water. We really enjoyed the riverside location near Fennville and it was a short drive to Saugatuck and Douglas.

We stayed at the Mannex with a small Class C and pull behind vehicle. We were able to unhook and rehook the tow vehicle right in the driveway, and was room to park both within the camping area. Be sure to have leveler blocks though as to get close to electrical box and keep your awning towards the tracks (and not the road) you’ll likely need them. Wasn’t a problem though and was a perfect spot for us en route to Iowa to check out the Indiana Dunes. I’d bring a Thermacell for nighttime to keep bugs at bay. I would stay again if coming though the area. (Timer/lights hung at site is a nice touch as is all the bird houses!)

We had a wonderful time camping here. Julie was a great host. She was very responsive and kind. The campsite was clean and quiet. We had a nice time renting some of her kayaks and a canoe to get the full river experience too. Also, my husband enjoyed fishing the river. We would highly recommend staying here!

This is a very well maintained (new!) site, that while right off the road is very private, and perfect if you want some privacy and easy access to Indiana Dunes and the local sights. Not a huge fan of Michigan City, but this local area had some nice restaurant and convenience store/gas stations/gift shop. Indiana Dunes state park itself is extremely nice with a more traditional beach, and great trails. The town of Beverly Shores is this weird little enclave right along the coast, it's got a really nice little scenic drive along the coast but you can't park anywhere without a parking pass, sort of reminiscent of the snobbier coastal towns up in New England. There's a national park beach down the road but it's a bit of a hike to the beach from the parking lot. This is a premium location if your rig/trailer is able to fit in, larger RVs and trailers won't fit. Really enjoyed the site and the host!

We camped with our ALiner here for the 4th of July weekend. This spot did not disappoint. Geoff was a great host and gave us so many pointers - where to go to the beach, where to eat, etc. Our kiddos loved watching all the trains go by our spot. The space was spacious and you can tell Geoff put a lot of care into it.
The beaches nearby are lovely and just down the road. Our only suggestion would be to have a porta potty on site. :)

Weekend Trip to Marshwiggle Farm
I had stayed at Marshwiggle previously on the bring-your-own-tent camp sites and it was awesome. This time when I booked, I didn't look too closely, so imagine my delight when I arrived and found a spacious, clean, bug-free tent with a full kitchen and a comfy queen bed! Sarah is a super responsive and accommodating host. I found s'mores supplies and a fresh vase of flowers when I arrived, and even though it was a disgusting 92 degrees and high humidity, the tent was pleasant-enough at night with the windows open. If you are not used to tent camping, I can see how this might feel too rustic, but as someone who usually does basic car camping, this was an incredible upgrade. I was staying in the area for a retreat, so I didn't cook any meals, but man, it would have be great to cook up some burgers or other things on the Blackstone and enjoy some local ciders by the fire. The kitchen seemed to have everything needed. I hope next time I come, I can stay long enough to get the breakfast add-on.
The bathroom is also a nice upgrade from a typical vault toilet and I am grateful to have running water to wash my hands and face. The addition of the outdoor shower this year is FANTASTIC. It was so hot, I didn't use the heater, but it was really nice to take a cold shower before bed - just had to wait until it was late enough that the mosquitos were not completely swarming. I come to the area often, so I am already looking forward to my next stay!

Weekend Trip to Riverside Respite at New Richmond
The cabin at Riverside was absolutely adorable! All the ambience of a true fishing cabin from long ago. Julie and Bill were fantastic hosts. The communication was spectacular and they responded to us immediately when a little hiccup occurred. The cabin is situated right on the river and there are boats and kayakers waving as they pass. There is a train directly across the street hidden by some trees, so you will hear the train noises, but that didn’t bother us any. It’s not a secluded site, but you still have privacy.
You really only need to bring your clothes because everything else has been provided for you. Fennville is a cute little town with a surprisingly well appointed grocery store and some great dining spots. It’s a short distance to Saugatuck, Holland, and a little farther to South Haven.
We had a great day and would love to come back again to do some kayaking! Thank you, Bill and Julie!

We had a fantastic stay at this campsite! Jeff was absolutely awesome — super friendly, helpful, and clearly dedicated to making sure guests have a great experience. He checked in to make sure we had everything we needed and made us feel totally welcome from the start.
The location is ideal — peaceful and private, but still really close to the beach and anything else you might need. It was so convenient to pop out for groceries, food, or hit the coast for the day.
One thing we were a little unsure about beforehand was the commuter train tracks nearby, but they turned out to be no issue at all. The trains weren’t loud, and from inside our camper, we couldn’t hear them at all — it didn’t disturb the peace in the slightest.
The site itself was clean, well-maintained, and had a relaxed, easygoing vibe. Whether you’re looking to unwind in nature or use it as a base to explore the area, this place is perfect.
Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back!
