The main property is fenced in, with a large back field great for tent camping, and an orchard to explore that can also double as hammock camping. There is parking for cars and bikes. We try to minimize our impact on the environment as much as possible, and encourage our guests to compost, recycle, and dispose of waste accordingly. Please note we have dogs, including a Livestock Guardian Dog that does bark to alert us of new people and warn off would be predators. A must for anyone exploring RI! Jim and Amy’s good communication and courtesy went above and beyond.
Wide pull in on hard asphalt, for my 20 ft campervan in a very quiet low traffic neighborhood. The section is adjacent to having your stay run south or north, with easy navigation to the highways and away from the more stacked up touristy area.
The Firepit is well maintained, dry wood available and lovely! With grill, gravel surround and patio chair seating, it definitely is many levels above primitive. Easy power hook up. If you have bikes with you, the island is yours to explore!

I loved this location, I’m from the town and did not realize this was available. When I pulled up there were agricultural tours going on but everyone cleared out before sunset and I was able to set up a nice secluded area for my fire, great views over the cranberry bog and located closely to convenience stores

Weekend Trip to Camp Newportant
Jim and Amy’s spot might not be the traditional Hipcamp setting (it’s in their driveway) but it’s the perfect place to explore Newport if you’re in an RV. Just park and you’re a short walk to downtown and the water with easy access to drive the famous Ocean Drive. And as hosts, you won’t find any better. Experts on the area/history and always willing to assist with anything you need…and don’t miss out on the campfire experience in the backyard—it’s a great hang!

We loved tent camping at the stonewall site!! Our hosts were incredibly understanding about a late arrival, and were quick to get back to us regarding any questions we had. The land was absolutely beautiful and we spent hours on the pond paddling around in the canoe, and fishing. The camping site itself was spacious, and yes you can hear some road noise but it absolutely fades away into the background after a short while. 100% will be back, and would reccomend.

We stayed here for one night while on a longer road trip. It was a perfect place to stop over and spend a night. The goats were my favorite part. It is a walk in site but they had left out a cart for us to use. We also had our own so it made load in/load out really easy. Very private spot.

I easily parked my 21 foot Class B camper van, with rear bike/kayak rack, on their side driveway, surrounded by lawn & beautiful trees & shrubs, with a great view, relative privacy, 110 electrical hookup and a nearby, very clean porta-john. I highly recommend this site and family, and will definitely stay again!

We connected with our hosts on a mutual love of old-ish cars and Lemons racing....these sorts of interactions just make the world a smaller place.
