The property backs up to power lines where deer can be seen often. We offer a large fire pit, horse shoe pit, small playground, trampoline, swings, and a small zip line over the creek in the woods. Camping on the meadow at Hawkwood Farm was a delight. The campsite is back far from the road in the midst of fields, but you can drive your car along easy paths up an area very close to the campsite. The design and landscaping of the meadow area is very charming: a large ring area with mown paths and circles within it, and a firepit, picnic table, and some camp chairs in the middle. An extremely quiet and peaceful place. There's also a clean and well-maintained port-a-potty that's about 200 yards away from the campsite. I will likely come back for another stay (and hopefully persuade my girlfriend to join me)

Everything was clean and well maintained. Loved the wooden platforms, string of lights, fire pit. Unexpected bonus was some firewood and two hammocks already set up. Gorgeous view of the river and so convenient to the bike trail. Check in was a breeze. Note: As an active freight rail line goes alongside the bike trail and river, do expect train whistles and noise several times a night.

There is no micromanaging at this property. They let you be you and enjoy yourself. I ran out of firewood around 8:30 p.m. and sent a message about two cords which is $20 and he brought it out within 30 minutes.. Awesome property thank you guys so much. I did leave a bag of trash bagged up right there by the fire pit. I'm from out of town just traveling through and didn't know where to put it and I definitely did want to throw it in the woods.

We absolutely loved camping here! There is beautiful landscaping with mowed walking paths all around the property. The open field allowed for stargazing without obstruction of view from trees and we saw some shooting stars in the early hours of the morning. We woke up to the sounds of roosters from the property and surrounding farms. There is a provided grill to put over the fire to cook on. Chairs and picnic table also available. The property is also an 11 min drive from Gambrill Park if you’re looking to do some hiking!

We had such a great stay at Chiques Rock Base Camp! The host was very friendly and accommodating, and the site itself was clean, well-kept, and thoughtfully maintained. I especially appreciated how clean the porta potty was (and I liked that they keep it locked when the site isn’t rented). The location is perfect—right at the start of the biking trail. I can see why some reviewers mentioned the nearby traffic and train noise, but it honestly didn’t bother my sleep at all. My daughter and I loved walking down to the creek to splash around, which was a highlight of our trip. The campsite had plenty of picnic tables, more than enough firewood, and a great overall setup. Bugs weren’t too bad, which was a nice bonus! I’d definitely recommend bringing bikes to enjoy the trail fully. We will absolutely be returning—this is a wonderful spot for camping, relaxing, and making memories.
