An area rich with historic significance and breath taking natural scenery. From the rolling hills of Lancaster County, Chiques' Rock, the sculptured rock visible at the bottom of the Conewago Falls, the White Cliffs of Conoy, and the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail there is no shortage of adventure. Our campsite offers the combination of camping fun and an endless variety of river recreation and leisure. Retreat to a spacious primitive river front camping sanctuary in the woodland setting, nestled under the trees, where privacy and seclusion create a relaxing family-friendly experience. Our campsite is first time camper or camping enthusiast friendly! Whether you are feeding the need for your family's adventure or looking to get back to nature and relax, River Rock Recreation campsite can accommodate your needs. You will find yourself living a unique outdoor lifestyle during your stay at River Rock Adventures campsite. A private launch allows kayak, SUP, and other paddleboat access. Public boat launches near by that allow for trailer and boat access. Fish the river banks all day and night for the biggest catch or teach a new generation of fisherman the love of the sport. Hike or bike the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail, explore all it has to offer on its 14 mile stretch from Falmouth to Columbia. You can even get the kids excited and involved by Geocaching on the way! Want to relax and create memories? Let the children discover the swing and Teepee play structure to promote imaginative playtime in nature, make fairy or gnome home out of sticks and stones, teach knot tying, animal track and constellation recognition or organize a scavenger hunt! Awesome spot right on the river. Was well setup and provided all the essentials to make it comfortable. Easy to check in and out and the whole weekend went smooth.

Everything was clean and well maintained. Loved the wooden platforms, string of lights, fire pit. Unexpected bonus was some firewood and two hammocks already set up. Gorgeous view of the river and so convenient to the bike trail. Check in was a breeze. Note: As an active freight rail line goes alongside the bike trail and river, do expect train whistles and noise several times a night.

It was a great time camping on Zach's property. The waterfront it's beautiful plenty of space to do whatever there's a nice fire pit and a little kitchen area. We'll definitely be back

This riverfront campsite was everything we expected it to be and more! From check-in to check-out, we had the site completely to ourselves. We have 2 reactive dogs, and are always worried about interacting with other dogs at crowded campgrounds. This trip, our dogs were more relaxed than ever, were able to roam the entire site, and exhausted themselves from all the zoomies!! We were rained in most of our second day there, but still had plenty of fun. There was a full shower bag provided, full basin of water for the hand-washing sink, and surprisingly clean bathroom amenities. There are 2 wooden platforms closer to the water, and 1 larger platform toward the back of the site where we set up our tent. All 3 were very well-maintained. There are string lights set up, but you need to rent/have a generator to power them. The fire pit was great, and we had purchased the $10 firewood bundle - Zach left 2 bundles for us in the covered kitchen area. Lastly, if you’re looking to fish, we caught a good sized rainbow trout and a baby catfish! Great trip overall.

Beautiful, well maintained, private, fishing, river trail is a stone throw away, great fire pit for cooking, and many more great things at this campsite This is my favorite way to camp, sleeping next to water with no one around but my family.

Great site, sturdy pads, clean port-a-potty, really cool grilltop firepit that we cooked on the whole weekend. Sadly the river current was a bit strong for new canoer/kayakers while we stayed but the more experiences guys still got a few runs in. Directions were clear and straightforward had no problems getting in and out. Overall great time would visit again! One improvement that could be made - the tent pads by the water were hit with pretty strong gusts of wind and we had to get creative using tension straps under the pads to keep them from blowing away. Would be nice if there was a more obvious/convenient way to stake or tie the tents down to the pads, but we figured it out. Thanks Zach!

This site is AMAZING! My son, service dog and I had a very relaxing time. We heeded the advice and brought a kayak and bodyboard which are perfect for the site. We “roughed” it and it was perfect!

Zach’s site was great! Beautiful views of the river with the perfect amount of seclusion. Awesome for fishing off the shore, visiting with family, and hiking the area. Spacious and clean, we were very impressed. As seasoned tent campers, This was easily one of the best sites we have been to. Thank you, Zach!

Campground was amazing, the River access and nearby trails were all well maintained and it felt very private for being close to other campsites and trailers. Port-a-potty was clean and stocked and the covered kitchen area was really nice to have since we did get some rain while we were there. We will definitely be coming back!

This spot is amazing! The hosts provide some great amenities and the location is clutch for birdwatching, swimming, boating, river appreciation and more. Our group had a great time and definitely will be back!

My family and I loved this camping de the first time back in 2020 and we come back each year, sometimes with our friends, sometimes just by ourselves. The privacy is something we value and the cleanliness as well. If not for a factory that makes super load noises on Monday morning for at least an hour( it doesn’t do it on weekends) it was an awesome stay. Thank you Zack

Absolutely perfect spot. So much more room than advertised. felt safe being close to bike trail. Woke up from the train a few times but would 100000% recommend and definitely planning to come back!!!

A Beautiful Weekend on the River

This river site is so wonderful! Easy to get to, comfortable, and spacious. We love being right on the river's edge, in a spot that is accessible but still tucked away and private. The outdoor kitchen area is perfect and the platforms make for a great sleeping experience. Zach is a great host, very responsive and accommodating. This was our second annual visit to this site - and we look forward to returning again!

This was a really beautiful campsite. It was just two of us for this trip, but it could accommodate a fairly large group very comfortably. The three platforms for tents (one was massive) where great, and there were a number of other small tent areas around the space, some of which would offer a bit of privacy. The covered kitchen and small handwashing sink were great and made cooking and cleanup very easy. The solar shower was a nice luxury. The site is situated on a shallow, slow moving part of the river which made it pretty easy to paddle around in the kayaks we rented from Zach. Check-in/out where super easy, and communication was great. The only thing to note is that while the site is really beautiful, it's not particularly remote. There's a fairly busy public access point to the river right next to the site, and a busy bicycle trail just behind it. The site itself is still very private. You can't see people (and they can't see you) from these areas, but you'll hear them. We were also there on a busy holiday weekend, so it might be slower at times. There's also train tracks behind the site, and a very loud train which came through a few times per night. These are definitely not huge issues, and we would absolutely stay at the site again (even with me being more sensitive to noise, I'd still stay here again) but it is something to note before you book. But all in all, this was a great site that we'd love to go back to and take friends.

This campsite was a beautiful concept, and although we still enjoyed our time outdoors, there are definitely a few things that need disclosure. First off, there’s a massive eyesore. A huge power plant across the water spews smoke into the air around the clock. The photos on the River Rock website are strategically taken to not show the plant. You can hear the loudspeakers from the plant across the water. There was also a train blaring its horn every so often, all day and all night. Sleep was minimal, even with white noise playing through a speaker. Boats went through the river at night with very loud partiers, so just be aware. Also I was told that I could rent kayaks, billed through a PayPal invoice. I requested three kayaks; I sent the message a good four days before the trip. I never received a response to that message, or other questions I had asked. Once we arrived, my boyfriend tried calling the phone number given to us to again request kayaks. There was no answer, so we left a message and never got a call back. I booked this site for my birthday and was terribly disappointed. It was pricey for a campsite, but I booked it because I genuinely thought it was worth the extra money. Unfortunately I was wrong. I also now see that I should’ve read more reviews. I hope this review helps someone else.

Zach's campsite is amazing and we all had a great time. Zach is a great host - communicative, responsive, and very friendly. We all really appreciated the amenities the site has to offer and the privacy and remote feel of the site while still being close to the trail and town if necessary. We'd definitely come back for another stay!

We had a great experience camping here! Although we didn’t have a chance to swim, we loved being right on the water. We really appreciated the three wooden platforms that we could use to set up our tent and tables, etc. on a flat surface, especially since we came on a rainy weekend. In the rain the site got a bit muddy, but the large wooden platform at the back of the site was big enough to fit my 12’ x 16’ tent with plenty of room to spare, which kept us off the ground and dry. The other two platforms were smaller, but allowed for great river views during meals, etc. The porta-potty was immaculately clean, and the shower stall area was convenient, although we brought our own extra large body wipes, rather than using a solar shower. We would happily return.

One of my favorite campsites! Large and private on the river. Great amenities like a bathroom, picnic tables, a large firepit with a grate, and wooden tent platforms. Will definitely be coming back.

This site has everything you’d want in primitive tent camping. Huge space tucked away neatly on the river. Kitchen area was done very well. The fire pit alone was worth it, that thing is amazing. Love the elevated tent platforms and private water access. Host was very responsive and accommodating. Will be back for sure in the fall. Thanks again!

We had such a delightful stay at this site! The hosts were responsive when we had questions, and all was arranged as described in the listing. We really enjoyed the river views, the fire pit, the platforms for our tents, and the covered kitchen area. The privacy of the location helped us to relax and enjoy without worrying that we might disturb others nearby. This is a fantastic spot and we hope to return!

Serene riverside spot to ourselves
Susquehanna River Front Campsite
Absolutely wonderful camping location. The directions were easy to follow when checking in, the property is right on the stunning Susquehanna River, the wooden platform allowed for our tent to be on a raised, flat, comfortable, and dry surface even when sleeping in the rain, the firepit came with a grate to cook over the top, a nice picnic table and the cleanest port-a-potty I’ve used. There’s an open air kitchen, charcoal grill, shower area with outdoor shower bag which we didn’t use but nice amenities perhaps if we stayed more than one night. Lots of trees made it easy to string a hammock and line to leash my dog. Had the place to ourselves, no bugs in October, felt very safe. Good hiking in the area, there was a running/cycling trail beside the property and the river was calm for stand up paddle board. Very much hope to visit again, was a nice meeting place between Philadelphia and DC for our group to meet, and would highly recommend!

Private riverfront views perfect for beginner campers and with enough space for groups to get together and enjoy the outdoors. Very clean and well maintained. Overall a beautiful spot, can't wait to go again!
