30 acres of mostly reclaimed farmland. We are located where Glade Creek flows into the Monocacy River. There is evidence of civil war activity here and the old river ford is on our property. Creek and river access make this a beautiful, peaceful place that is full of life. The energy here is overwhelmingly positive.
Our house was built in the 1850s and the neighboring farm was built shortly after—lots of history on this property. You will be able to camp right next to Glade Creek which is always cool, clean, and refreshing.
Our goal with opening the land up for camping is to eventually phase out commercial farming on the property and transform it into woodlands using native plants and trees. We've already started by planting hundreds of native tree species along the creek and river banks. Each camper gets us closer to that goal! Thanks for your support!

Hawkwood Farm is a historic property in the Catoctin Mountains. The house dates back to 1803. At that time, it is documented that there was a blacksmith shop on the property. There is a functioning blacksmith shop today, as well as an expansive wood working shop. A ;band of rhyolite runs through the property that was used by Native Americans for spear points dating back to the paleolithic period. Presently, we strive to live as sustainably and as closely to nature as possible, being good stewards of the land that we are blessed to call home. If you are looking for lots of open space with a sensational view of the sky then this is the place for you! This site is great for viewing all kinds of celestial events. You will also have access to the rest of what Hawkwood Farm offers including forest trails and an array of wildlife. Located on the ridge of the Catoctin Mountains in Frederick County, Gambrill State Park is a stunner. It’s separated into two regions, Rock Run and High Knob, the latter of which looks down upon two valleys and the northern reaches of the Shenandoah Mountains.The park features a sweet 16 miles of trails and a unique stone lodge called the Tea Room. It was originally built by the CCC in the 1930s for community events and gatherings. Today, it remains true to that original purpose hosting weddings, family reunions, business meetings and other special events. The park also has a Nature Center with activity packets filled with ideas like scavenger hunts and self-guided hikes. Get explorin'!

Adventure Time tent sits in a grassy clearing surrounded by mature trees, natural shade, and the sound of running water nearby. This is a primitive, no-electricity, no wi-fi camping experience designed for decompression in quiet, private, fresh air, and a beautiful natural setting rather than a resort-style stay. Food storage and smoking are prohibited in and around the tent.
The site includes a cozy 16' fire-retardant, waterproof canvas bell tent furnished with a queen bed, rug, small seating/table area, shoe and blanket storage, battery and solar lanterns, and simple comfort touches. The tent sits on a raised wooden platform with two steps.
Outside, guests can relax around the fire ring, sit in zero-gravity chairs, nap in the hammock, or picnic down by the creek to enjoy the water, rocks, and wooded views. A rustic iron bridge crosses the creek to discover a wooded meadow of interlacing walking trails.
Rental includes access to the air-conditioned game room pavilion with a refrigerator/freezer, outdoor grilling/washing area, picnic area, potable water, and electricity.
A clean and maintained port-a-potty restroom is located within walking distance between the campsite and the pavilion. Vehicle access to the site is limited to loading and unloading. Guests will park near the pavilion area and walk into the tent site once unloaded. A wagon will be provided for carrying gear back and forth.

He is really kind and beautiful place. But To my fellow Asians, please be careful out there. Sadly, racism still exists around us. We live here because we truly love America, and I wish we could all share that same warmth and mutual respect. Today, I heard an insult so childish calling me 'fat with wet feet' that it felt like something I hadn't heard since elementary school. On top of that, even after paying for gas, I was rudely told to get out just for using the restroom briefly. It's still really tough sometimes.

My son and I had a really great weekend at Deer Haven campsite! Shari was so kind in answering my many questions before I confidently booked a long weekend. She helped us settle in to our site and provide directions to some cool places to check out for rock climbing and swimming holes. She was a lovely host! We were along the ridge facing the farm below (maybe site #2?). The other campsites are fairly close to one another so keep that in mind when booking. We were fortunate to have the whole hillside overlooking the farm to ourselves as no other campers arrived. that was a huge bonus for us! I’d most certainly revisit Deer Haven next time we head out that way!

Second time coming here. Very nice spot close to Baltimore and DC for a quick getaway. Super nice location. River would be great for fishing but not swimming as it is only about 3.5ft deep. The ruts on the road are pretty bad but with some skill its no issue. Overall great place to stay

I didn’t know what to expect from a wooded site on a farm, but this site was great! You drive deep into the farm and then into the woods where there’s a large, very private site far from the roads. It was very quiet. Curtis checked in on me after I arrived which I appreciated. The outhouse is new and clean! There’s no picnic table, so bring your own table(s). I camped myself this time and felt safe, but l next time I’ll return with my family and dogs.

Incredible hosts and an absolutely perfect group campsite!
Our group had an amazing stay here, entirely thanks to how hospitable and accommodating the hosts were. From the very start, communication was outstanding—they were incredibly friendly and responsive through messages over the Hipcamp app, answering all of our questions right away.
We originally reserved a different spot on the property, but as our trip approached, our group size grew. I reached out to the hosts to explain that we wanted to set up a true "base camp" style layout—with all of our camping vehicles circled around a central campfire and communal area. They immediately offered to show us an alternate site on their land that ended up being absolutely perfect for our setup.
What really set this experience apart was their genuine hospitality. On our first night, the host came out to give a warm introduction to the smaller crew that had arrived early. But on the second night, once the rest of our full party rolled in, the host took the time to come back out to meet me and introduce themselves to everyone else. It gave the whole weekend an even warmer, incredibly welcoming feel.
They made the entire stay seamless, checked in to ensure we had everything we needed, and truly helped make our trip a success. If you're looking for great land managed by stellar people who genuinely care about their campers' experience, this is the place. We will definitely be back!

Willows in the Woods is a perfect spot for secluded dry camping. Surrounded by trees, the site has lots of room to spread out. Highly recommend ordering from the farms website to cook over a campfire at the site. The steakums were amazing and perfect for dinner. Curtis was very acomodating and it was really nice meeting some of the rest of the family.

We absolutely loved our stay here and are already planning our next trip back! The owners are incredibly nice and welcoming, and their property is absolutely beautiful. The campsite itself is massive, giving us plenty of options for our setup.
A few quick things for future campers to keep in mind to make your stay perfect:
Privacy: The site isn't fully secluded; you can still see the owners' house from the setup area.
Camp Comforts: The picnic bench was a bit muddy when we arrived, so I highly recommend bringing a tablecloth and bench covers. The porta-potty also needed a quick scrub before we felt comfortable using it.
Nature's Soundtrack: There is a pond and stream right next to the site. It’s lovely, but be aware that the local bullfrogs sing all day and all night, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper!
Bonus Hike: Be sure to ask the owners for trail recommendations! They pointed us toward a quick hike close to the property that led to a beautiful waterfall, which was a highlight of our trip.
Despite the minor cleanup (which is normal with most campsites!) we highly recommend

This was an easy destination to find and also a fun trip into the grounds where we camped. The grounds are well maintained. It’s very basic, but there is a very clean porta potty. That’s a short walk from any of the campsites, highly recommend. Also, we saw beaver, morning, doves, and deer and heard some fox..
