Stargazer tiny cabin at the Guinea Farm was perfect for me and my pup. Ian was the perfect host and made us feel so welcome. Meeting the chickens and guineas was a lot of fun and the beach nearby was breathtaking. We explored the area, had a few campfires, and relaxed. Even the rainstorm was amazing while inside Stargazer!!! The cabin was super cool. We will be returning! Just a quick note that did not detract from the experience at all - we did encounter some hunting dogs loose at the beach hunting a deer. Its obviously hunting season and off the location, just good to note. We loved our trip here and valued meeting Ian and learning about his much loved birds, clearly living in paradise. Definitely worth a visit! The cabin itself was extremely clean and well stocked. The property was fun to explore, even has corn hole and axe throwing!

Weekend Trip to The Guinea Farm, Field, and Forest
We had a wonderful stay at the Stargazer tiny cabin. It was incredibly cozy, warm and clean. The cabin had every amenity we needed, and Ian provided clear instructions for everything. He responded to all of our requests quickly and kindly, which made our stay even better.
One of the highlights was looking up at the stars at night. It was absolutely fantastic! Aaron’s Beach and Haven Beach were only 3–5 minutes away, and we had the best time there with our dog.
This was truly one of our best stays, and I strongly recommend Ian’s place. We will definitely be back!

The place is darling. Out in the country but just a short drive to the city and surrounding areas. It was a joy to open the door and see the goats and sheep only 20' away.

We had an amazing camping trip! Ian was very responsive and welcoming, and his hospitality really made our stay enjoyable. We loved the fresh eggs from his chickens for breakfast. There was plenty of space for the dogs to run and play. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing and comfortable getaway!

This is our second time at Ian's hipcamp and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The stargazer cabin was lovely and definitely a nice glamping experience. We didn't have to bring anything with us other than toys for the kids and food to feed ourselves. We brought my 60+ MIL and she loved that there was a composting toilet 😅 Being around the birds was so fun and we went to the little Haven Beach nearby and had a wonderful time- it was a perfect beach for young kids with lots of shells, fun rocks, and calm waters.

3 nights at The Guinea Farm, Field, and Forest
I cannot say enough about this hipcamp. Ian is a great communicative host, the best we have experienced so far! Our stay on the farm was great, we loved watched the guinea hens running around and eating bugs. We got to see alot of wildlife and really enjoyed watching the different birds flying over from the bay at night. Having 2 beaches each less than a 5 min drive was amazing and they were completely empty both days we went. We enjoyed going to the Seafood Shack in town and The Hole in the Wall at Gwynn Island for fresh seafood. The stargazer cabin was beyond anything we could have hoped for and more. It was so well thought out and had everything you could possibly need for a relaxing vacation. It was big enough for 3 adults and 2 dogs to fit comfortably for 4 days. We will definitely be back again!

We loved our time at the Stargazer Cabin - it had all the necessary amenities and then some. The perfect balance! 5 mins or less from two beautiful local beaches and a quick drive into town if you forgot something. We even ventured to Gwynn’s Island on our way out (about a 15 min drive from camp), and that was a fun side quest. We will be back! My kids have already deemed it to be a place we need to visit annually. Ian was a gracious host and quick to respond when we needed him. Stay here, you’ll love it!

This was our second trip to The Guinea Farm, Field and Forest - it's truly such a sweet, special place! The first time we stayed in the Wisteria Treehouse, which was charming and perfect for me, my kids and pups. This time we stayed in the Stargazer Cabin and loved it. The cabin is well-appointed; it was great to be able to cook our meals using the stove and sleep under the stars. Aaron's Beach and Haven Beach are a quick drive, and we loved exploring Aaron's Beach with the dogs and swimming at Haven Beach. We plan to go back again this fall for a multi-family trip - can't wait!

Ian has been the friendliest and most communicative hipcamp host we've had. The treehouse was comfortable even in the July heat with fans. I brought swamp boxes just in case and we never needed them. There are USB outlets everywhere you can plug up rechargeable fans. We over packed and really could've just brought a smaller cooler for stuff to keep on ice because there's a cooler fridge thing hooked up to the solar power. The outdoor shower was awesome and the pressure was good, it got hot! The Guinea Hens were so fun to watch, if you're a chicken person Ian has some gorgeous chickens too. There are multiple camping spots there but distanced enough you can't tell anyone else is around hardly. The beach area is nice, it's the bay so wear bug spray, but our dogs were able to enjoy it with us tied up to a tree for shade when they weren't playing in the water or chasing crabs. This is a great place and we are planning to come back with friends

This cabin is one of a kind! Ian did a great job with the place. Ian is a great host. If there was any issues or concerns, he responded immediately! I would recommend anyone to camp here. We had so much privacy for a great price!

Fun quirky little cabin. Very private. Just the basics but everything you need. We were two adults and two kids and two medium dogs and there was plenty of space. Ian is super nice and responsive. It’s a quick drive to the beach or into Matthew’s where you can get groceries or eat at a restaurant. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Blackwater "She Shed"
I very much enjoyed my stay at the wonderful little She Shed! The tiny house was very clean and tidy, I felt comfortable immediately. It was well appointed with cool A/C, bathroom amenities, coffee, Keurig, fridge, freezer, microwave, Roku TV, toaster oven and comfortable beds. I luxuriated in lazy morning coffees under the crepe maple tree with my neighbor the goofy goat, and it was so calming to hear the sheep talk amongst themselves. Baaah! Not to mention the stars at night were spectacular. The She Shed is situated at the edge of a property management company, and while there are some large vehicles around the larger part of the property, I appreciated that the owners have made the tiny house space welcoming and private, I highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet getaway from it all. I would definitely stay here again but next time I’ll bring my bicycle!

This was our second time there and we will probably be back for a third. My nieces love feeding and petting all the birds, along with the two dogs, and neighbor’s cat as well. The little cabin has everything you need to cook, sleep, shower, and feel relaxed after a day at the water. You feel like you’re camping but will sleep better. The beaches nearby are uncrowded and clean. Ian’s bundle of wood is plenty for a fire and his SUP was fun to rent as well.

The Guinea farm is a real treat and so is Ian! Our large group rented the entire property and had an amazing time. I personally stayed in the tree house which was over the top and amazing! He thought of the little details in the decor and overall
experience from design to functionality. My friends loved the cabin life and the hot shower included. Our children stayed at the suspended tent site which is being upgraded! The additional guests brought campers or tent camped in the field. We brought over 40 people (13 separate groups) and there was more than enough room for additional guest to stay. He provided us with firewood and some basic necessities. The portajohn was clean and sanitized. We ventured to the beach daily which was close. The best was how kind and accommodating Ian was to our group. He answered a million questions and was available for our needs including daily trash pickup. He even gave our kids the tour of his fowl including allowing them to hold the baby chicks! This was an over the top experience! Highly recommended from someone who likes the traditional Airbnb! Thank you Ian, thank you for being a part of our family and friend weekend!

Weekend Trip to The Guinea Farm, Field, and Forest
Staying at Ian's farm was a fun, relaxing experience! Ian was a really great, gracious host and we enjoyed getting to meet him and all the birds! We got a tour of the farm and got to hold and meet the birds after we arrived. We opted for the firewood challenge to see how much we could carry, which was a good time. The stargazer cabin is really well-built, cozy, and a nice, quiet getaway. We felt safe in the cabin even though there was a huge thunderstorm during our stay. The cabin's kitchen had everything you needed, the outdoor shower and composting toilet were comfortable to use, and the bed in the loft made for good sleep. The guinea fowl will keep you constant company, and they're so fun to watch and listen to! The beaches nearby are quiet and super quick to get to. Nearby Matthews also has a really good grocery store and small downtown for extra treats during the day or for picking up stuff to cook on the way to the cabin. We'd definitely visit again and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get out to the country for a bit!
