First of all, the location. The cabin is located on a rural road that is a five minute drive to downtown Onancock, which offers a coffee shop, several restaurants, bakery, shops, Saturday farmers’ market, and the harbor. Chincoteague and the famous ponies are 35 minutes north, and bougie Cape Charles is 40 minutes south.
When you open the door to this 300’ gem, you will step back in time to a simpler way of life. This century-old building was moved to the site and has been brought back to life, preserving the original character, while adding the creature comforts we love of today. Soaring 12 foot ceilings provide a spacious air, and the original wood interior offer charm and patina that simply cannot be manufactured. In the past, it was a barber shop and then a poker joint.
This place is a design nerd’s dream, a clever combination of old, new, and vintage pieces, handmade pottery and art, with close attention paid to each chosen piece.
Lace curtains and blackout blinds cover all your light preferences for peaceful sleeping. The queen bed is a high end hybrid mattress with traditional coil base and memory foam top. A giant 55” TV is directly across from the bed for cozy streaming.
The modern bathroom has a vintage wall sink found on site, and terrific water pressure from a rain shower head with instant, never ending Rinnai hot water.
The kitchen has an ample antique sideboard as your sink, apartment size refrigerator, induction hot plate, coffee, microwave, and combo convection toaster oven/air fryer. The marble table seats two. A comfortable down-filled loveseat adds another lounge option. You will enjoy all the artistic touches around the room.
Did I mention the front porch??? It’s the perfect spot for morning coffee, afternoon wine, and evening stargazing from rocking chairs with your boo. A pretty view of a wide field is across the street and will sooth your weary soul. What’s not to love about that?

With 15,000 wooded acres, Pocomoke River State Park’s claim to fame is its stand of loblolly pine and cypress swamps bordering a wild and scenic river. It’s divided into two parts, Shad Landing (south side) and Milburn Landing (north side), which are about a 25 minute drive apart. The combination of ecosystems means the park is home to a plethora of plant and animal life including white dogwood and pink laurel trees, river otters, bald eagles and over 50 species of fish.There is no shortage of traditional camping activities, but the park also boasts an Olympic-sized swimming pool in case you decide “I can’t take this no more," and make like Squints from the Sandlot. The Guinea farm is 18 acres of field and forest on the rural middle peninsula. Only 1 mile from 2 separate secluded dog friendly beaches and a boat launch. There is very little traffic or light pollution here, nature is at your fingertips.
Come visit the farm and experience agritourism at it's finest. Pick your own veggies in the community garden and meet the Guinea fowl! Enjoy the wilderness and learn about the local ecosystem here on the middle peninsula.
There are 3 sites spaced out across the 18 acres set apart for privacy. Wisteria Treehouse site closer to the entrance gate. Trilogy Micro Cabinz is in the pines 700' beyond that and separated by dense forest. Stargazer Tiny cabin is an off grid rustic camping cabin on the back side of the property.
Each site is surrounded by several acres of forest and close to the edge of a large field. There are roaming guinea fowl that may come make a very loud appearance as they canvas the property eating bugs. Deer, Turkeys, Bald Eagles, foxes, and other wildlife are common guests also. Mid-summer is what I call frog season, Tree frogs are abundant and provide a wonderful soundtrack.
There are free to use bicycles, an axe throwing board, and cornhole boards available.
4 miles from shopping and dining in Mathews Virginia, 15 miles to Gwynn Island. Gwynn's Island is an island located in the Chesapeake Bay off of Virginia's Middle Peninsula. The island is located in the northeast part of Mathews County, south of the mouth of the Piankatank River. It is connected to the rest of the county by a swing bridge over Milford Haven.

HORSES WELCOME! Why not run your horse on the beach, then come to our campsites to relax for the rest of your day. There is a fenced pasture positioned next to the sites so you can see your faithful friend enjoying some grass or hay. We have a new Zinger 29' trailer set up with a bunk room and another bedroom, full kitchen and bathroom. It can easily sleep six people. If you have your own RV, we have a full hook up at the same area. The pasture where your horse stays will also have hay, water and shelter with a run-in. This is a sanctuary for our animals. We have nine animals here, four horses (some minnies) and five donkeys (some minnies). By staying here, you will be helping us to support our animals. We are in Frankford, De which is close to all the beaches and parks. There are many shopping adventures awaiting you, either outlets or upcycle stores. If you just want to relax, there is a small pond out back stocked with bass and turtles. We have 17+ acres but we only use the front five acres and leave the rest for the deer, foxes, eagles, hawks and whatever else shows up. We believe this is Heaven on earth and would love to share it will you. So please come, stay at our farm and relax. We are here year round.

We had the privilege of being Jon and family's very first Hipcamp guests, and what a fantastic experience it was!
If you're considering booking this property, don't hesitate. It's one of those rare places that's easy to reach but feels wonderfully secluded and peaceful.
The location is excellent. It's just minutes from Snow Hill, where we spent a few hours kayaking through the stunning cypress groves of the Pocomoke River. Berlin is also a short drive away and is full of charming shops and restaurants. It's also conveniently located near Assateague Island, making it a great base for exploring the area.
What truly sets this place apart is the hospitality. Jon and his family have thought of everything. They even had additional tents and cots available for our group and would have provided linens if we'd needed them. You can arrive with little more than food and ice and have just about everything else covered.
Communication was excellent throughout our stay. They were responsive, welcoming, and struck the perfect balance between being available when needed and respecting our privacy.
The bed was incredibly comfortable, the accommodations were spotless, and the attention to detail was evident everywhere.
We only live about an hour away, but this felt like a true getaway. We left thoroughly impressed and are already planning a return visit. Without question, one of the best Hipcamp experiences we've had!

My wife, kids, sister, and I had a wonderful stay at Ian’s Stargazer Tiny Cabin. The location was fantastic—just steps from the beach, which made it perfect for our family.
One of the highlights for our kids was meeting all of Ian’s birds and animals. Ian was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and generous with his time, giving us a tour and sharing information about each animal. It was such a unique and memorable experience.
Throughout our stay, Ian was responsive, welcoming, and available whenever we had questions. His hospitality really made us feel at home.
We would absolutely recommend this stay to friends and family and would love to visit again!

We have stayed at quite a few Airbnb and Hipcamps and Stargazer exceeded all our expectations!!!! It was perfect. Great off grid experience but still felt pampered. Lights, WiFi running water, hot shower, little fridge, and a well stocked kitchen to cook in. The bunk “cots” sofa combo were very comfortable and convenient. The bed was super comfortable and soft sheets and comfortable pillows were an added bonus.
The cabin was tucked under the canopy of trees at the edge of the woods and stayed cool in the high 80’s and the fans made it even better. Cool evenings allowed us to enjoy the fire pit.
The stars were amazing! We loved sitting out in the field in front of the cabin and gazing up at the night sky. So many shooting stars, satellites zooming by and constellations that you usually can’t see with the naked eye.
Ian was so kind and accommodating. He gave a great tour of the guinea hens, chickens, his breeding program and we even had a baby duck cuddle. The entire property was so well taken care of, his hard work and love of what he does shows. We loved the guinea hens and their quirky personalities. One male would come by and give our van a quite vocal talking to trying to put it in its place each mornings. The girls would wander by eating the bugs and ticks (gotta love that!). Our dog Sasha found them quite interesting but they didn’t seem phased by her until she barked and they “barked” back.

The treehouse was beautiful. We liked finding all the hidden little secrets to it, the stove, and the projector were nice too. When we went the bugs and the weather weren’t too bad either. the beach was great and mostly empty, and we loved the armload firewood challenge and chicken tour. Ian was a great host and was always responsive and flexible with scheduling. 10/10 don’t think anything could’ve been better.

We absolutely loved staying at Ian’s farm. He was so responsive to messages and so kind and patient with the children, spending ages introducing them to his birds and letting them hold the baby chicks. There were exciting woods for them to explore - a cool grilling area, and fun extras like axe throwing. The Stargazer cabin was very small but cute and we set up tents which made it work well. Even on a rainy weekend we loved it!

My husband and I with our 3 children had so much fun staying in a mini cabin at Strawberry Crossroads. They have some goats that would visit us in the morning, which was so fun. Grateful for the cleanliness of the bathrooms/showers. Having mattresses already on the beds was also very helpful. Felt very comfortable and safe there. Great place to camp!

This was the perfect little get away! The house had all the necessities while still feeling like you are on a camping trip. Ian was extremely nice and helpful, and even let us meet his birds! The house is not far from two different beaches and there is a very nice lake to hike and fish at only 30 minutes away.

The Site was very well kept! The bathroom was actually very well kept and better than I expected. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. The owner turned the heater on, built us a fire before arrival, and ensured we would have everything and anything we needed during our stay. Overall, it was a wonderful stay! I would definitely come back and recommend this to our friends and family!!!!

Ian messaged and said we could arrive early and we felt very at home. We got to see the Guinea Fowl, Turkeys, Chickens and the baby chicks! The kids loved being able to roam and explore.
The solar power Ian has set up made it easy to charge items and have lights for night time visibility. He truly has poured his heart and soul into building a one of a kind camping experience.
We will return for sure!

Weekend Trip to Blanchard Farm
Our stay at Blanchard Farm was incredible. The yurt was well-kept, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up. The campsite felt very private, making it perfect for a nice weekend escape. The shooting range was a huge highlight—extremely well done and a really unique feature you don’t find just anywhere. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay with something extra, this is the place!

With kids
I took my two boys to this gorgeous piece of Heaven. Wisteria blooming everywhere, accommodations were so dreamy! Ian the host is so friendly & took the time to educate my boys on his farm. They held chicks that had just hatched. Beach nearby. Couldn’t have asked for a more gorgeous camping getaway. We will definitely be back! Stayed in the tree house. Dreamy for little boys.
