Hello Hipcampers! Welcome to Cajun Country!  Click on sites and scroll down to choose our full service RV hookup space which can include a buddy site for friends. You may also choose rental of our own RV for use on site and we also offer in our home a comfortable bedroom with a private bath.  Any rental includes one tent site if needed, at no charge. We have options for you.

Our location has festivals, Cajun Bands and dancing, Cajun food, walkng trails, fishing, boating, kayaking, swamp tours, bird watching, hunting, vintage, antique and arts and crafts stores, joie de vivre and laissez les bons temps rouler.

WELCOME TO BUTTE LA ROSE, THE HEART OF THE ATCHAFALAYA BASIN AND THE HEART OF ACADIANA:
In the early 1930s when the Army Corps of Engineers carved two long levees right through the Atchafalaya River Basin, what had once been a widely sprawling river system prone to seasonal flooding became a fifteen-mile-wide "spillway" contained between those two earthen walls.  The water level in the Basin rose by several feet, permanently flooding many areas, and people who had made their homes there eventually moved to communities on the dry, western side of the levee--Henderson, Catahoula, Bayou Benoit and beyond--leaving no trace of the old settlements behind.  Only one community remained.  Perched on a ridge along the banks of the Atchafalaya River, Butte La rose is the only community in St. Martin Parish that is still located between the Basin levees.  No other place can claim to be the heart of Atchafalaya as credibly as Butte La Rose can.  The community is nestled against one of the more winding meanderings of the Atchafalaya River, and residents remain closely tied to the river and other nearby waterways--fishing, crawfishing, frogging and hunting, enjoying bayou-side crawfish boils and pleasure boating.  So many waterways surround Butte La Rose--Butte La Rose Canal, Henderson Lake, Lake Begneaux, Lake Pelba--it's as close to an island as you can get without actually being an island.

We are only 3 miles from interstate 10 but we are a small remote camping village.

Many hummingbirds visit here every year.  They arrive in March and leave in Sept.

Renee's Galaxy RV Campground

The Galaxy is a small campground with 8 large spots. It's located outside of Washington, Louisiana where there are no city lights and lots of stars and things in the sky. There is 50-amp electricity with full hook-ups at each site.  I have a laundry service and a small dog park. Short term and long term are welcomed.  The sunrises and sunsets are exceptional here. I have a picnic table and fire pit available for your use. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Abbott’s Acre

We have 2 concrete pads perfect for boon docking, parking a camper, boat or Class B and C RVs. 5 minutes from the Town of Woodville, MS and within a 40 mile radius of historical sites and hiking trails. Can accommodate special requests. Pets welcome but no fence and must clean up after them. Leave no trace.

All sites have access to a regular toilet in the RV on site by the cabin, along with a well water hose hanging by the well and trash bins.   

XTRAS:  Hi Speed Cox WiFi, a regular extension cord, hot showers in the RV, Full Size refrigerator use in the RV,  Use of a jon boat (trolling motor, battery, and boat cushions provided), ATV trails (low speed trails covering the camp with hills, mud, and swamp scenery)

You will catch catfish and bream on a live worm; an eight-pound bass has been caught here.

We now offer "venue" level use of the camp for catered events, parties, or larger get-togethers! Pick the site "Horseshoe Bend Parties" and select the number of people attending.  This is a 24-hour rental starting at 10 AM.  We provide electricity, bathrooms, showers, and high-speed wifi.
