Weekend Trip to The Slab (by the Barren)
My husband, our 2 Shih Tzu’s, and I came here for a relaxing weekend and it did not disappoint!! Carrie and the crew were very nice and helpful. They have two dogs that are friendly too!!! There is water slides, dirt bike/ four wheel trails and plenty of camping areas. The water is amazing and clear!! We will definitely be back soon! We highly recommend this camping spot ❤️

Weekend Trip to Hidden Timbers Homestead
I stayed here for my bachelorette trip and it was so much fun! Not only was Hazel such a fun and simple stay, but the property was awesome too. I especially loved the dogs and cat (+kittens) and the other fun surprises that came with our stay. Lauren and Jeremy are GREAT hosts. We felt right at home and we all said we wanted to come back and/or live on the homestead!

I love every experience at Barren River Magic. This is my second time staying in the Tin Bin and it's a lovely, secluded spot still close to all the places you want to roam on site. 2D is a consummate host and the spaces are always interesting and comfortable. The land, however, is the real draw. Just being on site, in the woods and water, the fireflies at night, the stars, sitting by the firepit and just being...it is, in fact, Magic.

2 nights at Hidden Timbers Homestead
We enjoyed the clean and beautifully decorated bell tent. Perfectly nestled in the trees making a camping experience without the discomfort and work of traditional tent camping. It gave us the opportunity to disconnect from the hold of electronics and enjoy family time. In addition to the wonderful hosts and their family a highlight was the comfort of home with restroom facilities. Can’t wait to book our next stay!

Totum was a relaxing property maybe 150 feet away from a creek that was super relaxing to listen to all night. The campsite as a whole is super eccentric while still remaining cozy. 10/10

The entire property is thoughtfully composed with a generous host and beautiful surroundings with creek and river explorations, hiking trails, and bonfire ability. You have the option to be quite private or communal in your experience. Love this space and 2d as a host so much.

This site lives up to the name magic, 100%. Gorgeous, peaceful, well spaced out, just a lovely spot to be, the land feels GOOD. Highly recommend any of the glampsites, although primitive campers have great location options. The glamps are creative, well appointed, and each has a whimsy unique to itself. And don’t miss getting in the River, it’s cold but worth it!

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are broken hearted to announce that we will be closing our doors at midnight on July 13th 2025. We want to thank everyone that has came out to the farm over the past five years and supported us. It was a genuine pleasure to have the opportunity to meet each and every one of you, and to share our beautiful family farm with you, your families and friends. We will be refunding anyone with reservations after the 13th of July 2025 and hope that you all can find another hidden gem like ours, and continue to enjoy and make memories in the great outdoors. Thank you so much for all of your amazing support, reviews, and recommendations over the years. Our hipcampers are what made The Slab such an amazing place, and we are truly sorry that things didn't work out to where we could stay open. Kent and I are still looking into other options as to how we could move forward in the future with the part of the farm that we still own. So stay tuned for announcements for 2026. You never know what the future holds...

Please note: for most glamping stays, you’ll need to bring your own bedding (sleeping mats, bags, blankets, pillows). The Fox Den and Peace Pipe are the only exceptions—they come fully equipped! Spend your days kayaking, fishing, tubing, or simply relaxing beside the river. The surrounding area is full of Kentucky gems—Mammoth Cave, Cave City, Nolin Lake, Green River Lake, Diamond Caverns, and more—all just a short drive away. We’re a pet-friendly property because we know adventures are better with your furry friends. Campfires are welcome, and we even provide firewood to make your evenings extra cozy. You’ll also find portable toilets and two centrally located showers (naturally warmed by the sun!) for your convenience. IMPORTANT: We do not accept late-night bookings or late arrivals. All guests must arrive by 6 PM local time. This allows us to personally greet you and guide you to your glamping site or campsite. If something unexpected comes up and you’re concerned about arriving late, please send us a message in advance—we’ll do our best to help.
